  1. LeviathaNz added a post in a topic AN ERROR OCCUR WHILE PATCHING

I deleted the version.dat, changed my portforwarding to ensure it's working correctly (even though I never had any problems with the launcher), rebooted my router, rebooted my computed then I tried it again.

I got the file verification this time, and it crashed with the 12006 error now. I started it again, crashed instantly with the 12006 errorcode again. Tried again and again, I'm still having this error no matter how long it takes to verify (sometimes it appears after 5minutes, sometimes after 10sec...).

    This is really bad.

Having the same issue here, tried to reboot twice, I did not change anything.
I tried to delete the version.dat, and now I'm getting and errorcode : 12006.

After my second reboot the launcher gets me the error even faster.

    You're doing it wrong.
Where I am working, projects could take months to get released but we always ensure that our clients have an estimated release date, even if it's a one or two months time frame, it is just to make sure that they are not going away. I guarantee you that if we were as vague as you are, they would just leave and they are right.

I mean people here do not want to have everything now, but at least give us an estimated release for what is planned to be released, a roadmap of the content would be awesome and you will be able to keep people interested. At the moment there are plenty of things to do but not in a large scale, it's all too small to keep people playing together.
So far the biggest problem you have is your communication with the community.

It's not a problem to delay something because it's bugged or because it needs more time to be thought through, but the fact that you keep saying "we have no ETA on when it'll be  done" so often is getting more and more frustrating. And from my entourage, you will upset a lot of people (more than you think).

All in all, it is good that you think about going through more tests and rethinking some of the broken stuff, in the end it will be more enjoyable.

    [Fishing][Processing]
My honest feedback on this patch (17.06.2016)
    Fishing
While I think the idea behind the update is great (rewarding active fishing more than AFK fishing), the way it was implemented is rewarding none of the two. The world is fairly vast so this means the time you spend finding hotspot is way too long in while the hotspot time frame is way too short (30min). If you want to buff active fishing you have to increase this time frame. I would say a good buff would be 2 hours, this will be enough to spend time roaming around with your boat and actually have time to start fishing. Most of the time you just spend ages to find a spot, start fishing and boom, it's gone. If you do not want to make it last that long, then I suggest increasing the price of the fishes while having an hotspot to last at least 1 hour.

    Processing update
I do not think this part of the patch has been thoroughly thought. I would like to split this part in three :
    - 1st the reason it has been changed, why you thought it would be good for everyone.
    - 2nd the actual situation in game after 3 days of patch
    - 3rd the good side of that feature (before it was removed)

    1. I do not understand why it was changed, you just said with all the upcoming materials it would allow everyone to access more life contents but that's pretty much all you said. This is really strange because when I actually think about it, it is even worse. I would really like more depths to your reasoning/explanation @CM_Jouska

    2. I have two examples that, to me, reflects the bad side of this change. Black Stone Powder and primary potions (HP/MP...). For example HP pots were an easy way to make some fast money from processing. You get some daily quests that give you pots, then you process it into superior ones and sell it. Boom it's instantly gone (yeah, instantly). This goes the all the basic pots that can be easily upgraded through procesing. Now it barely sells because anyone can process it since it does not require any energy points. Same goes for the Black Stone Powders, you could spend some time sniping the market and process the items to get a good profit from the Black Stones. Keep in my these are only a few examples of what I have experienced but it would apply to a lot more items you can get through processing. Basicly you just made it easier for anyone but the ones that invested massively into processing to get money from it. Is it bad ? Yes of course, but I will explain it in details in my 3rd point.
Now I have a question, what is the point of having a processing lifeskill ? If you did not want it, nor want it to cost energy, just remove it ?
    3. In fact you made this update, as you said "to feel free to explore further and enjoy much more of our well-made in game content". So what is stopping a guy to process his 5k iron ore, 4k copper ore, zinc, gold...etc ? How will it enable users to explore further while now that they have no limitation to processing and can be doing that all day ? This does not make sense, in fact it's the opposite. Indeed, before this patch, it forced the hand of the processors, to do something else and add more variety to their playstyle. More than this, processing was more rewarding, in terms of silvers, because you had to spend time processing and gathering/optimising your energy points. Materials were rarer in that sense. People specialized to become pro/artisan at processing because it could be valuable.
Why do I think it was good before ? Because it added more depth to the game :
    - Processing actually needed people to specialized or just invest into it from time to time if they wanted to get materials
    - Processing needed people to explore and get more knowledge (= more energy point)
    - Processing needed people to think and optimise their energy point (once they're done they could do something else)
    - Processing made items more valuable and was a big part in the BDO economy
    - People who had other goals would buy processed items for silvers (investing their time & energy points into other aspects).

Just a quick note on the special forges, I think the change is too drastic, I agree that it was a big hassle before but I think the change now is too big. Maybe it would have been good to rethink it while not removing the fact that it was hard/rare to get ?

Clearly the strength of this game is its difficulty and the fact that it is challenging on every aspect. I am a bit worried that with time you will completely alter its essence.

I still love the game and I still think most of the features coming from this patch are great, I just think some aspect are randomly changed without really putting some thoughts into it.
    Peace!

True man, since the sea is really vast, the fishing spot should be lasting longer I would say.
Either of the two would do, as you suggest : increasing the value of the fishes, or as I do, increasing the timeframe where one spot is an hotspot.

To me it looks like some changes are done randomly. Do you even play your game ?
Did anyone ask for an XP boost ? Did anyone complain about having to use energy to use processing ? Did anyone asked you to nerf randomly some items price ?
Did anyone ask you to remove all the Equipment Forges ?

There is a lot of really good points in this patch, like rewarding the people actively fishing over the ones afk, adding a bidding system to the AH (if only it was working properly...) and many other, but seriously, can you tell us what's the reasoning behind some of your changes ?
I see plenty of complaints everyday about bugs, some mechanisms that needs polishing, punishing systems for people investing hundred of hours into your game and stuff like this... Why it isn't addressed yet?

I don't really know how to feel about this update, there are plenty of good stuff but on the other end you are cattering to the casuals players so hard by removing some of the core difficulties that made the game so awesome and rewarding for the ones that invested heavily into your game.

I'm not in that category obviously as I started the game pretty late but I love when games are challenging, this is why I play them. I really hope you're measuring how far you're going to go with that casualisation, because it could cut in half your playerbase at some point. These kind of player (the casuals) won't stay on your game for a long time, usually they are the ones who are hopping from one to another MMORPG.
Don't get me wrong, I do like most of the changes I just think some of them were not even asked by your community and are making people upset because they loved your game as it was.

Can you please explain @PM_Belsazar @PM_Jouska what does this mean ?
Because I have been stacking a lot of Accuracy lately and I really want to know what's happening to this stat after this patch.

Would really appreciate more details when you are changing one of the main stats, because a lot of people are spending hours (if not days) to optimize their stuff.
Thanks a lot, and cheers for one of the best update so far

Stats under the "Enhancement effect" section.
Like "Increased AP, Accuracy", these look like invisible stats, so I was wondering if there was any tables that would list what you're getting when enhancing (for each item, or at least the most popular).

    Enhancement stats for each item
    Hello there,
I was wandering out there trying to find any decent guide/database (or just a listing from what people have experienced/calculated?) about hidden stats from enhancement.

When an item has a stats that increases with enhancement, I would like to know from how many points these stats are increasing. Is there any way to know ?
    Thanks a lot.

  20. LeviathaNz added a post in a topic Feedback - EXP Penalty Removal from PvP

This is pretty much how I feel about this update.
There are indeed plenty of other MMORPG on the market which are not PvP-oriented.

The simple fact that you have to PvP in order to preserve your golden spot, the fact that you HAVE TO be in a guild when reaching higher levels, the fact that you have to cooperate or just face danger is what makes this game any good ! People do not understand these simple facts.

BDO is a PvP-oriented game and its content will always hammer it this way, it is said from the beginning that you will have to group and compete with or against other people, farm, explore, grind, defend, attack... This game has a lot to offer as a WHOLE, not just your mere PvE which is a pretext to PvP or which just leads to PvP aswell.

There are plenty of aspects to fix in this game, but you (Daum/PA) should not try to fix your PvE by nerfing your PvP because it's what the game is meant to be in the first place. Your main target is the PvP lovers, don't listen to the ones who will not stay in this game anyways. Most of them are on this game for the wrong reasons if they are asking you to do something against PvP.

You won't get rid of any griefers in a competitive game, there are always assholes, but you should not try ruin the competitive aspect of defending/attacking a golden spot. What this patch will lead to is people with higher goals and stuff will have to PK the annoyance to be forced to leave when their karma runs lower and lower. You just have to go to a spot, be annoying for 30 minutes, force the guy to leave and have a free spot. How is this competitive ?! How is this game called "sandbox" if you cannot control any aspect of the game ?

I'm willing to debate, I'm not trying to be offending anyone but simply put, some people here are playing this game for the wrong reasons.

  22. LeviathaNz added a post in a topic Patch Notes - June 1st

You really did this ? So basicly you are just saying a big ----- YOU to the players who are trying to defend their XP spot. Even more stupid, you're just punishing them for doing so.
This ruins the game for a lot of people, because everyone wants the best farming spot. People will come endlessly to KS.

A lot of people asked to remove the XP loss while dying to world bosses, not this. And this is just asked because of the stupid rewarding system on the worldboss.
There have been a lot of great ideas to change that system. Go and give it a look

I really hope this feature I quoted will be removed or it will really start a war between you and your players.

  24. LeviathaNz added a post in a topic Abandon the class before you invest too much, while you still can.

The fact that people are saying that "you get it wrong", "just play it because you enjoy your class", at the moment grouped PvE only rewards the ones with the strongest DPS.
How is it supposed to work for Bladers & Plums ?

I do not ask anyone to throw complains just to complain, but instead try to give constructive criticisms and how to fix it in order to make the class viable in the current environment.

I've already planned on playing multiple classes just to experience it at least once, but I really do want to keep on playing my Musa. If I do have no other choice, I will just abandon it. It's in the hands of Daum & Pearl Abyss

  25. LeviathaNz added a post in a topic [PVE] Alternate channels for PVE Only

The game is clearly PvP-oriented, why are you even playing it having in mind a perspective of fully PvE-oriented servers ?

This is a complete non-sense. There are plenty of games out there which are purely focusing on PvE only, why bother playing a game that is not built around what you'd like ? Why are you willing to change a game that actually appeals to the people who are following it since the beginning and are there for its essence ?

Stop wasting your time if you think you would just enjoy this game without any PvP, because this game, in the end, will remain a PvP-oriented game.
This irritates me because all of the games I've played/enjoyed are turning to garbage because they want to please everyone but instead are turning everything into "mmkay" features which in this end creates an average/mediocre game, why ? Because it won't satisfy anyone and will mostly frustrate players.
