Surely they are not very smart at coding. Those issues are considered very simple from a developer's point of view, while for most others anything related to code sounds alien.
Those that people call developers are not all programmers. Huge difference to be a guru at animation or graphic design or 3d design with coding. I would not even touch this subject if it wasn't my job, but I would never allow a customer of mine to suffer from so "silly" little problems here and there. Software with such issues is called just "broken". Those that love it broken is their absolute right to love it. I don't care. There are some others that it is their first time to play a game on a computer, including mods of this forum, that they love it thinking that those problems are part of computers in general.
I just don't care anymore, the only thing I hate about all this is that I gave precious money to people that do not deserve it, I helped them with their fraud. I could send that money to 3rd world countries and really help a human being -- not those ignorant money seekers.

.. and now with windows 10 your OS itself is the virus. But hey, don't allow yourself to get off the train...

I agree with everything u said. The real problem is the operating system itself as you already must know. Put on top of that lazy messy development and you end up talking about it here. You can see other games, or in my experience, all the other games do not need these tweaks on my systems.

You be happy with your skills in fixing issues by deleting a single file. Allow us the rest to face the real issues. I am proud of you by the way.

No, because I run my own company which is in no way interested to have customers such as them either.

It appears that it is rocket science for the developers though. They cannot automate it for the users so that they won't need to become technicians of bdo.

A friend of mine is waiting since 6 hours now to re-download 41GB -- the whole game again -- yes this was a result of just powering on the computer and running the launcher -- it is now at 56%.
If they can't write code, they should make it free at least -- not that it would make everyone interested still.

I know it did. Giving technical advices about things they have no idea about, is making people risk their computer's health. It is a very serious subject. None should take these actions.

If you follow these solutions given by this person you will make your operating system vulnerable. In particular this part:
Disable your antivirus while updating BDOAdd your whole BDO directory to the Exclude list of your antivirus software.Depending on the configuration of your computer permissions, it may be necessary to run the Black Desert as an administrator. In order to do so, right click on the launcher icon and click “Run as Administrator”.Disable Firewall (easier) OR make sure to put Black Desert Online in both Firewall Inbound and Outbound rules.
I would recommend the user that posted these instructions to immediately remove the above lines as solutions from their post. Advising users to follow these instructions shows complete irresponsibility and luck of computer knowledge, in particular computer security. It is even more important to mention that if this post comes from admins or moderators of this forum they should ask serious developers or IT related people in what to advice publicly on a forum.

Fraud. Support ticket system team ignores issues by closing them as fixed.
To whoever is responsible for this, this is my last time and attempt (which maybe makes you happy).
I have contacted the support for an issue related to how the game always starts as "Windowed" and never respects/remembers my setting "Full Screen".
The support replied to me with the following:

    GM Felaxus (Black Desert Online)
    Nov 24, 08:58 CET
    Hello Adventurer,

Thanks for contacting the Black Desert Online customer support team. My name is GM Felaxus and I will be working on your ticket today :~)

After contacting one of our technicians, I managed to find a workaround for you that should work regardless of your games settings.

If you navigate to where you are storing the BDO document files, normally somewhere like this: C:\Users\<userName>\Documents\Black Desert then open a file called GameOption or GameOption.txt you can make a slight change to force your game to launch in full screen or windowed mode.

Once you open the file, find the line that reads windowed = # and change that # to a 2, as seen below. Then relaunch your client and the game should start in full screen mode!

I hope this information helps answer a few questions and so I will mark this ticket as solved for you. If you encounter any other issues or if you find anything that bothers you, please don't hesitate to create a new ticket and I will assist you in any way I can.

    Kind regards,
    GM Felaxus
    English Games Master
As you can see, there are 2 main issues with this response.
The ticket got closed as fixed without a reply of mine saying that.
The solution given by this person is wrong, as the value 2 corresponds to "Windowed" and not "Full Screen".
These are the correct values and I have found out by myself:
    0 Full Screen
    1 Full Screen Windowed
    2 Windowed
So, not only the ticket got closed as fixed while nothing was fixed, not only I got an incorrect direction in what to do, not only they expect customers to take part in the development themselves by manipulating config files, which not everyone is able to do that, but in order for me to actually reach them again is to open a new ticket about the same thing.
Well, as I am into IT for more than 25 years, this is the first time I face a support team that doesn't know how to use the support ticket system. A support ticket system is NOT a forum that you just lock down topics that you had enough with. People pay money here.
Generally, after understanding deeper what is happening here with Black Desert, I consider me trying to fix something as broken as this or reach a support team which is NOT a support team is a waste of time. It would be great fun if they were hosting their servers and systems under my services and we would recommend them to change the config files on our servers themselves by actually suggesting wrong values, beucase they would be paying us thousands of euros per month for that.
Enjoy your broken game and non existing services.
    This is a complete fraud.

Insecure forum.blackdesertonline.com FQDN. No Secure connection (SSL)
Hi, I need to report something that should be taken care of already as it is technically easy and without it it causes a huge security issue to all the forum as well as the game users and accounts -- including game accounts.
The FQDN "forum.blackdesertonline.com" has no SSL protocol enabled and only redirects to a simple http scheme. This means that any user that registers or logs in to this fully qualified domain name is sending and receiving data to and from the server of this forum in plain text. This of course means that any password sent to the server can be seen from any middle party in between the server and the client (end-user) which is the well known "Man in the middle attack".
What this can cause is account theft, which in most cases can be game account theft as well once many users do use the same credentials on the forum. In a way, the is no point using a 2 way authentication system while there is no wildcard SSL enabled on the main domain "blackdesertonline.com".
For a company like this it is completely unacceptable.
To close this, Daum or blackdesertonline.com should use SSL for their own account security in the first place. But I will insist that Daum and blackdesertonline.com will be responsible for any of their customers accounts.
    I hope this is understood.

Yes this is the only game where the mouse pointer is off by about 50 to 100 pixels below the actual button you are targeting although it appears to be where you think it is. This happens every time I start the game.
The only fix for me is to switch mode to windowed, then back to fullscreen. The next time I will start the game it will forget this setting and I will have to do this again -- with the mouse pointer off again.
After all those months of doing exactly that, and it is still not fixed, I opened a ticket today. I do not hope for anything to happen though. This game will stay in the history of gaming as the best example of what a game should not be like after release.

  15. acajoom added a post in a topic Multiple Crashes Per Day

I had crashes as well without anything tweaked on the computer or OS or vga settings and playing the game at low/medium settings.
Last night I uninstalled the game properly and once it did not uninstall itself "properly" I went and wiped out every trace of it on the hard drive.
All night I was downloading the game from 0% just to make sure it is fresh installed on a fresh installed windows 7 64bit which has nothing else on it except TERA.
I haven't played yet to know what will happen, but I am sure of what I would do if I hadn't purchased the game. I would just uninstall it if it was a f2p game and had all those issues.
The game has a great number of issues which are very basic and should be fixed before release. The only reason I can see those issues being there is that the developers are forced not to fix the issues for reasons only they can know.
So talking for myself, the only reason I am trying things out is because I payed for it.
