@Overcrash kay, let me make it simple for you as I am neither dense nor lack comprehension.. you point is just plain stupid, plain and simple. You quoted a person who made some failed leadership and judgement decisions and alot of people died, congrats to you? You try to cover it up by the attempt at simplification saying that "aww shucks keep trying dont let the game beat you" with a hint of sarcasm.. again yay. The game can keep breaking you statistically its no lie, its just a matter of when do you want to call it quits and move on with your life. Different people have different limits, I can understand why alot of people want their efforts rewarded with something solid. As it is now, it is RNG/ random number generator. So, you may get it after one, or a hundred or never. The system just seems feels flawed.. you spend days/ weeks/ months grinding and fail, while someone gets lucky and succeeds and moves on to the next thing. Life isnt fair but does the game need to be even more unfair than life? RNG is kind of bad for economics, it makes people not want to invest time or money because of a lack of proof that you gain anything. The Price Ceiling and Price Floor of the game combined with the RNG means that the game will have people struggling/ getting frustrated/ and moving on. Which is bad for business (now I know some people are going to say something along the lines of "we dont need/ want them" but that mostly just strikes of denial, a game needs customers and simply spending time and not money in the game doesn't pay the bills of the people making the game.) RNG is good, but the penalty of items losing enchantment is kind of rough for people? This game rewards people who just play it an exorbitant amount of time. Buying pearl items to sell doesnt really offset it because of the 5 item limit. So if you try to sell the 5 items that cost 3,400 pearls each and they sell for 24 million each.. thats 120 million, which costs you 17,500 pearls.. which is about $170.. and you can only do that once a week... so its expensive and slow. Some people may do it.. but I think that if people want to stop more of the people "Paying to win" they should have alittle less RNG in the game. But I think the large amounts of RNG are here because they want people to pay/ and buy pearls and sell the items, which are why they sell the extra clothes for silver and buy the artisan memory fragments to help them with their enchants. The Price Ceilings and Floors keep people without large disposable incomes from spending too much in the game for pearls and the 5 item limit keeps people with large disposable incomes from getting too strong too quick and the RNG is just there to keep people failing for a long time in the ever present hope that some day they will succeed and just keep playing in hopes of that day. So yeah, I think less RNG would be more fun as a player, less useful for Pearl Abyss/ kakao. Its just they have to balance how much is time worth compared to money. time = money
Um I dont think General George Armstrong Custer would really like the idea of BDO, large amount of effort for little improvement.. its just not equivalent. Hours/ Days spent/ lost for something going to Tri, Pen or Tet.. He would probably have given up thinking this is a waste of his time and probably play cards (poker?)
But he is probably not the best example to use ... he was massacred at the Battle of Little Big Horn, and that includes all the people who followed him. Hurray for blind effort right? Blind effort will win in the end? No matter how many times you get knocked down get back up.. oh wait you cant because there is an arrow stuck through your head.
