Well a zerg going online, killing kutum/nouver and going offline again, is not really a sign of population in the area. Also I said "half Mediah is dead" precisely because half of it is yet populated, that is north-west Altinova (like sausans, Manes, helms...). Also I was talking about the areas not about the channels... Valencia channels might be active, Valencia continent is far from active..........
- All players collide with each other. - It does matter how you survive in the wilderness because in BDO you can get an empty bottle, go to a river and fill it with fresh water to survive the desert. I got lost in the desert the first time I went there and I found myself searching like crazy for the Oasis because I ran out of water. The same happened at night, I had to go find an area with plants to make anise tea and not die. At first I was annoyed, then I realized how this little details made my experience in the desert so much more enjoyable. It adds to immersion despite being a minuscule detail. And yes other games might have elements BDO has too. Starting with minecraft in which you can do pretty much anything you do in BDO. So what? What's the actual problem with that? Your OP was all about saying BDO lacks immersion unlike WOW, which is why I think you are wrong because again BDO is highly immersive compared to most MMO and WOW is a zero in immersion probably because Blizzard never intented to make an immersive game to begin with, starting with the toon like characters. - So archeage and wildstar have a node system, a trading system, an agriculture system that relys on humidity, weather, temperature, subterranean water... Ok. And just curious, what class do you use, what gear, and how much time took you to understand how to play your class properly? Because I've been playing since western launch and just yesterday I noticed something new in my sorceress skill cancelings. Sorry but I played all the mmos you have mentioned, also BS and TERA, and the level of complexity of BDO classes is many orders of magnitude above all those games. There's no comparison. - So wow has contribution and energy? No it doesn't. - You know, at first you started with WoW, now you are moving your goalpost because you have realized WOW is not enough. Why don't you add The Witcher to the list, SWTOR, Zelda, etc? I can already see your new thread: BDO horse racing is a flop because Mario Kart is so much better. - NPCs do not wander in TERA nor in WOW. It might happen for 1 scripted NPC, but you will not find NPCs wandering the roads as a regular thing like in BDO. You can find them in Skyrim I guess. - Never said BDO was TOP 1 game lol. I said it is in the TOP 10 MMORPG in every relevant website. What I can say for sure, is that no other MMORPG has a combat system that can compare to BDO. TERA and Blade and Soul are closest examples, and they feel so lackluster after playing BDO. - About your progression during the game... Well if you have no life that might be true. But since you say you have done all that, why don't you post a picture of your +V items? lol - People saying BDO PVP doesn't require skill just gear, are always the people that are owned in PVP. Just get better. - I don't feel you are attacking me, I feel you simply don't know what you are talking about. Either you haven't played as much time as you say, or either you played but you didn't realize what was going on in that screen of yours, sorry.
PS: I'm all about constructive criticism and new ideas. I always support those in the forums. But I can not consider your thread constructive if you are not making sense to begin with. You need to be more objective and leave your wow fan-boy attitude behind. WoW is not a relevant game anymore and it lives purely out of its past glory and a pioneering oportunism. Moreover, WOW is a terrible example of how to make an "immersive quest system" which is what you are trying to convey in your message (I guess). If you had simply said: I feel BDO quests are too fetch and lackluster, I would have liked them to be more like SWTOR in which your character is actualy relevant and the narrative is a core aspect. Something like this would have a lot of people supporting your OP, starting with me.
I spend all my loyalties in AM, they save a lot of money for items such as liverto and blue awakening. I have never felt the need of spending pearls on AM, but yeah it will help a lot to those willing to pay.
Ego what? Why? Because I like to kill other people? You are the egocentric thinking I enjoy PVE in a carebear environment just because that's what YOU like. I was merely being honest with the OP at how things usualy work in main spots. Players invest time in building up their characters and are not willing to share it with you because you are cute, sorry. If they are in a rotation or you even have the luck of them telling you that's "their" place, then fight or move on. Don't be as childish as being annoyed because someone handled your as* to you in a videogame. Anyway most PKs in this very forum advocated for a PVP server from the very beta so YOU could grind in everlasting peace. It was mainly PVE carebear-minded players who opposed this idea out of selfishness because they wanted more population and foolishly thought a karma system could somehow tame PKs.
When you reach a particular speed in your rotation, sharing takes away your loot and exp without reducing your killing time. It only makes sense to rush a friend. A *Friend*, not a random nobody. If you cant handle a spot wether because of mobs are strong or PKs are strong, do yourself a favor and go away. Theres plenty of non contested places you can grind despite the obsession carebears have with sausans/pirates.
Thats the real P2W item. Giving unskilled players immunity so they can stay at main grind spots as much as they want without any consequence. No thanks. Maybe ask for something more realist like a PVE server in which you can only be attacked if you flag.
Imho, sorcs can really destroy most classes 1v1 with their KD-down attack rotations, but, as you have said, you need to be quite skilled for that. Same goes to ninja. I have tried most classes and I feel quite out of place with all but sorc. This said, people take for granted the effort that you invested in learning how to play your sorc, and think your perfect 1-shot rotation (that mainly relys on RNG-jesus helping you) is an eazy-breezy trick anyone with half a hand could do if they had such an "OP" class. I would like to see these persons rolling a sorc and see how "good" they are with this "OP" class. By the way, if someone beats me using an OP class, I wouldn't rant, knowing the class in front of me is simply made to win the other class, why would I get angry? No. People ranting might give you the "sorc is OP" reason, just to hide the inner, more embarassing thought that they were effectively outplayed by a more skilled person.
Exactly as people have said, it only takes a look at the korean items to realize AP and Attack are the same thing. About blue awk doing same damage as Dandelion, it could be true IN PVP, ofc not in PVE because not all monsters are human obviously.
Valencia and half Mediah are quite dead, which makes the rest of the areas overpopulated. Thats the real state of the game. Not low on population at all, but rather population is poorly distributed taking into account how big the world is.
Sorry to break it up to you but when someone is "rotating 3-4 times without killing anybody" is not because he/she is friendly, but because he is building karma to kill you. You were lucky this person even warned you. I do warn people but its not because i want to be nice, but only because this way I might save karma if you go away peacefuly. The only real danger in BD world are PKs, so stop hating them and thank them for givin you some excitement at that boring place called Sausans.
The world is more immersive not becuse of the graphics, but because: npc behaviour is more complex, both npc and payers are reactive to their surroundings (they look at each other, collide with each other, can climb/sit/relax on environmental elements), they have an amity system, some have a daily schedule instead of being static in one place. Buildings, cities, towns, roads are crafted in a realistic way for example houses are not over or under sized (like in wow). You can buy and decorate a house, befriend npcs, do meaningful fishing, hunt, tame wild horses, agriculture, trading, sail, etc. Im quite shocked that someone would say wow is more immersive. The only game that comes to mind as being more immersive as BD is a modded version of Skyrim, or, because of different reasons, SWTOR. Theres zero reaction towards players in WoW besides some region-related amity system. Now about the quests. Yeah BDO has fetch quests, precisely because it mimics wow in this aspect. BD (and the rest of MMORPGs) should stop focusing WOW in the quest aspect and look towards SWTOR or, better yet, The Witcher. About the "rushing". I rushed WoW as fast as I rushed BDO, difference being that rushing wow is quite a good strategy, rushing BDO is not because you will end up not understanding half the mechanics, not knowing how to play your character and, in summary, you will be at a clear disadvantage. Most people rushing BDO either already know the mechanics in depth and so they dont need to go slower, or either dont know what they are doing and will have to slow down one way or another at a point in their progression to lear everything they have skipped.
Casual like wow dungeons, there is none like that. There are couple dungeons but completely out or reach of any casual player. If you are into PVE, I dont think you will enjoy BDO in the long term Maybe new content will be added to please players like you!
Imo you should act like if boss gear doesnt exist. I would get the best preboss I can and upgrade to full tri. With this gear you will farm money and be decent in pvp. Eventualy you will be able to slowly change a tri preboss piece for a tri boss piece, one at a time!
