Kramer, you're still not seeing the point. If it cost 10 million gold to roll a dice, then player 1 has far less chances then player 2. Player 2 will be able to roll the dice far more often and at a higher rate, opposed to player 1 who has to try extra hard to keep up with player 2. This means that player 2 will have more chances to be far better geared than player 1.

Even by the definition of random, the more chances you have then the more likely you are to win. A person buying one lotto ticket will have significantly less of chance of winning versus a person that bought 2000 lottery tickets. That's how probability works, and that's why the upcoming change is indeed considered P2W.

I'm not sure if you're trolling or not. Let me use an example. Lets pretend we have 2 players:

Player 1: Normal player who just grinds all day whenever they can. They make about 7 million an hour grinding, and they play for a few hours a day. They make 21 million per day.

Player 2: Is just like player 1 and makes 21 million per day while grinding. Player 2 also buys 5 costumes per week to sell them on the market place for 50-100mill each. Player 2 just made way more money than player 1 over the course of an entire week.

Who do you think has a bigger advantage when they start upgrading their gear? Who is going to have more chances to upgrade their gear? Who is going to have a big advantage in pooling money so they can use re-selling tactics from the night time merchant to make even more money? The answer is Player 2, in every single situation because player 2 paid for their advantage.

I don't understand how people are even arguing over the definition of P2W. Being able to convert pearls into in-game gold is by definition paying to win. Whether or not you get that TET/PEN with your extra billion gold in generation per month is not debatable. People that will shell out 150 USD per week will have a P2W advantage, there are no exceptions.

Who am I kidding though.. there are still people in the Archeage community that are in denial about Archeage being P2W.

    EDIT:

I did it... I just had to literally post an urban dictionary definition of pay to win.

Honestly it's getting to the point where we are trying to stop abuse so much that we are directly affecting the players. The market is extremely restrictive in this game.

I hesitate to say this but I feel 2 weeks is a very long time to sell an item such as a TRI. I could easily dig up the shards necessary to make another one in that time. My situation any many others speaks for itself -- the TRI items are not selling on the market.

Right, this is the weirdest system of all. For the past couple of weeks I log on multiple times a day and take my liverto down, to try and set it at the absolute minimum. The issue here is that sometimes the minimum raises by a few hundred thousand for no reason. Other times I've seen people be able to undercut mine by several hundred thousand... either way they are not selling. We need to be able to adjust the prices ourselves, or have an active algorithm that listens to how many people are attempting to set prices lower.

The way that I look at it and how I've explained it to others, is that if you have that much money saved up then you most likely already have a weapon that is TRI, or really close to getting one. If you have that kind of money laying around you're most likely spending most of your energy rolling on the night vendor and spending it there instead. There is absolutely no reason to buy a TRI weapon since they are perfectly reasonable and within range of just about anyone capable of using a shovel. I'm not advocating that everyone should have one by now, but what I'm saying is that it's not as exponential of a chance as getting a TET+ is. TRI should be fairly average for people that have been playing for a while now, and they should not be worth as much as they are now. That being said, it's a personal complaint -- my issue is that expensive items in general should have a wider range of max/min. My issue is just the topping on the cake; how am I supposed to sell an item that's been at minimum bid for over two weeks now? I don't want it, and I'd like my profits from them. If I could sell it at 200mil, I would... just so I can have money to spend on more relevant gear.

It's my personal thought that TRI weapons should not be worth as much as they are, because users don't come close to using 440mil of materials when they make them. Sure there are some unlucky people that might, but it's fairly straight forward and should not take you that much money to construct one. They should not be priced at such a ridiculous amount, and I should have the ability to price it to what I think is it's worth.

Our market is completely C R A S H E D. Everyone is trying to sell but no one is buying. No one is going to buy a TRI anything at an upwards of 400 million. That's insanely ridiculous.

Again I have had it on minimum for weeks and keep trying to price it lower and lower multiple times a day. If I'd like to sell it for a more reasonable price, I think that's up to my discretion.

Let us set minimum prices on expensive items
I've been trying to sell my TRI: Liverto for a couple weeks now, re-pricing it to the absolute minimum a few times every single day. It's never going to sell unless I'm able to give it a realistic price that people will actually pay. I know what I spent on it, and I dont see why I can't adjust my price to go lower to a more realistic price for anyone that might want it.

Please let us adjust minimum market prices on very expensive items.
