  1. the system could work better if it was more elaborate. Like, only certain sets of furnitures (including pearl shop ones) allowed in certain towns. Limit to the number of pieces you can place (scaled with CP invested to own the apartment). In this way there could be a much closer and fierce competition, plus we could get rid of certain ludicrous set ups, with top ranked apartments that are good only for throwing up, and others where you risk to get stuck the moment you step in to visit them.

  2. This thread is a good chance to ask some more knowledgeable than me how DP vs AP actually works

I wonder if even the devs know it. But what is sure is that players don't... we can at best make biased speculations.

  3. So what I've gathered from reading all the comments is this game has a lot of problems not just the problem that the OP has with people that want gear to be equalized. Thanks for the info all!

Let me tell you what you should have gathered instead: simply that players of this game have a lot of issues, not just the problem that the OP has.

  4. I mean, unless I'm overthinking things, it seems to me there is some overreaction here.

Reblath did not make the list, and I doubt that is by mistake. You can still failstack on it, which unless there is a better item out there that made this list, should be just fine.

    Or am I missing something?

of course they are, it's the norm to overreact here.

  5. it's useless to try to explain them what they know well Tolmos. These guys are just pretending to not know what they are doing. The real purpouse of all the whining they put up on the forums is to bring back exp loss on PvP death (you will read mention of it in every freaking thread they open to whine -yet again- against the non existant karma bombing), since of course what they suffer from is not the loss of karma, as they blatantly admit, but the complete inefficiency of their mindless actions. If they were anywhere near a decent player as they boast to be, they would make competition go away by taking away from it the reason to be there, which means they would kill mobs faster enough that the competition itself will move on since it's only a waste of time. The fact they go out of their way and turn red (I mean that face behind the monitor, not the char's name) to kill others, is a source of entertainment for the so called "karma bombers", which of course will not go away.

  6. thanks for informing the public of this important matter. Yet another ludicrous story that is of course centered around the non existance of karma bombing.

Karma Bombing is a thing say your grinding in an area and another guy comes up and starts killing one or so spawns in your rotation or even hitting them they get a portion of the xp gaind even if you actually wipe the mob or mobs. they basically get a free ride on xp where as you the one dealing the damage get hosed on exp.

none of this involves karma, or better, none of this involves negative karma. Try again but you should refine your lies to a whole new level, to quote the OP.

  7. Darkfall took 8 years to see the light and it was complete garbage. I've never played a MMO I had paid for so little. The combat was just plainly stupid even in PvE, let alone PvP. You had to run in circles like crazy and obviously it suffered from lag way more than BDO.

If you don't mind me asking, how is it exactly P2W when there's a limit to how much the cash shop user can sell per week? Or are you saying it's P2W ebcause it'll take the cash shop user over 1 year to be able to buy the best gear on the marketplace? :)

if you don't mind me asking, when you have paid you win what exactly?

Please answer honestly, I don't need insults and people telling me to GTFO cause I don't play their way. This is my style and I am asking if its possible to play this way or if I will just be beating my head against a virtual wall unless I join the economy game.

Honestly: we don't know if it's possible to play your way because we play our way. Even if we would try to assess if it was viable, we would do it following our perceptions of what is acceptable or not for us in a game, so it would be a biased opinion.

This said, IMO it all boils down to how much competition you are looking for in such a game. If you enjoy the action combat against mobs and prefer a more solo approach then yeah you can play pretty much the way you want, if you want the competition though you'll have to follow certain guidelines. Finally, if you get too much involved in competition, and happen to be unlucky... well, gg.

  9. Most people have absolutely no idea what "random" means, and see dice rolls being part of magic or whatever, who knows.

    Reading daily stuff liike:

    "it can't be 20%, I failed now 6 times in a row!"

"how can it be? I used 3 stones to get item X to +15, but have now 30 FS and can't get item Y to +15"

"I didn't drop exactly 10 shards today, so something is wrong!"

like they would have never played a dice game in their life, and just don't get the concept of "chance" AT ALL lol.

it's really incredible, like a bunch of apes or so, strange that they can manage to read and write (to some extent) even.

you can spot such a person when they ask in global: "how many FS do I need to enchant this or that?". It's obvious that (too) many players are convinced that if they have a certain amount of FS they are almost sure to succeed, and that (too) few players have studied percentages and understand what 1 to 20% actually means.

  10. when i play 15h a day...

... when you do that, you should invest better the few spare moments you can dedicate to elaborate some thoughts. For example you might think at something that does not concern the game, it could be refreshing for your ideas and your mood.

  11. You can't even give feedback or anything to the publisher because it's full of flames and insults.

That's because most of the feedback for the publisher consists in that.

It's become a common habit nowadays to spit in your own plate and it's not like a few volounteer moderators can invert the trend of millions of internauts.

The best approach you can take is to elevate your tolerance to intolerance to a higher level.

  12. I saw someone in the game chat shouting kzarka weapon for pearl, and I was thinking how does that even work because there is no 100% chance you will get the item through pre order.

I saw that post too, but what hit me was it was advertised as a trade. "WTT Kzarka for pearl item". But come on, it's not a trade when I pay your weapon over its price through preorder, and on top of that I have to pay real money to gift you a pearl item. Made me chuckle.

  13. And that is thx to removal of exp lost on death in PvP. No freedom in PvP, no reward and no risk = no policy and no real wars.

Old school games work so well because everything is balanced. Lvl means advantage, but also risk because death at high lvl is far more painful than on low lvl.

old school games WORKED so well because they WERE played by old school players, which would never whine about "karma bombing" on a forum and actually consider the use of this term a laughable and ludicrous practice.

  14. there is nothing to fix as the system is how it was designed for this game.

If you want to play games with drops on players' death or a punishing death for the losing player in PvP there is a wide array to chose from, why then don't you go play those games instead of asking the devs to change their game? Says much about the logic you adopt. Besides BDO would lose a consistent slice of players out of a change like the one requested and gain nothing, since hardcore pvpers would not be attracted by such a change and will not play this game in any case, as evidenced from the fact that most PKer wannabes of this game are crying rivers from months now about supposed "karma bombers griefers". These players (that infest this thread too) are clueless to the point that they invented from the ground up a new term in an active form to describe the passive behaviour of any player that somehow gets in their way and is punished by swift death from a surprise attack, and then repeat this stupid mantra of karma bombing over and over like little children in the hopes that the devs pay attention to their whining.

  15. Number 1: Exploration

Somewhat connected to your point 2, but you had it too limited. BDO's (quite big) world is rich of realistic details and scenarios. It makes it a pleasure to explore, whereas in most other games of this kind worlds feel fake, mostly empty and in general uninteresting.

For this reason I was really unimpressed and a bit let down by the Margoria expansion: the new areas are much lower quality, let's hope in Kamasilve.

But yeah number 3 is what keeps connected at all times possible and after almost one year.

  16. with a good horse and skills you already have fast travel. We could use faster movement on water though, but not the instant travel type you're talking about, no. That's stuff for MMOs and not for MMORPGs.

  17. So yea lets just waste a tet stack.

If you succeed at enchanting it's not wasted: it went to a use. Now you're stuck with a more FS and no money to use them. You wasted money and time (which means more money) in order to preserve a failstack that you can't use because a) you lack the money and b) you don't even meet the requirements to use it because you refuse to use it.

If I were you I would re-check my logic against facts instead of checking it against wishes (it's an advice, not really a critic). You need to be very pragmatic and solid in this game, relaying on hope will only return you a lot of frustration.

And remember: failstacks are only a SMALL (in percentage) help to enchanting. The big factor is still randomness. Don't fall into the trap I see many falling, when they ask "at which FS is it SAFE to enchant?". Safe my pants. FS are only a small aid, not a decisive one. Try to change random factors, like the time of day (real day) when you try this stuff. You normally play in the eve, try in the morning (wake up 30 minutes earlier before leaving for work, or try sunday morning, whatever), or any other random stuff you can come up with.

He already told you what stacks he used so what is he doing wrong? Please enlighten him so he can have your epic to semi epic enchanting success...

Carol Hawke didn't even specify what TRI she achieved that easily. I have read in this thread a comment about a talis helmet or other comments with no specifications. There is a very significant difference in chances to enchant stuff based on their value, yet most people don't seem to take this into account.

  18. An exploit is in unintentional bug that is being used for self-gain. Sort of tough to call it an exploit if the devs in KR have known about it for nearly 2 years and haven't fixed it yet. That suggests that its part of the game intended mechanics.

"unintentional bug"? LOL WHAT? Are you about to tell us the story of intentional bugs?

Even if the devs have not fixed a bug, it does not entitle you to exploit it. Why don't you actually read the terms of service? It's GLARING OBVIOUS that in order to exploit a bug, this bug must still exist, a.k.a. be "still not fixed" after whatever time frame since its discovery.

And how on earth can you claim that a game clearly designed around plausibility would make it an "intended mechanic" to allow placing structures on top of trees?

Man... you really had to think this post hard to come up with all this sillyness.

Like the other smart ass who calls others incompetent for not resorting to bugs in order to win a confrontation.

  19. That's the game. You either hold a grind spot or you don't. And if you can't, go elsewhere.

Oh, stomping stupid people over and over can be massively fun.

At the end of the day the spot goes to the fastest/strongest group. That's it. That's why when I get kicked from my A-spot I have alternate areas to farm.

There you go, all your words.

At first you ask people who can't (or don't want to) fight you back in PvP to go away, then you claim you enjoy to mindlessly kill them over and over, and in conclusion you actually agree with what I said when you want to "correct" me, which is that the only rule in this game is that the exp and loot goes to whoever makes shortest work of mobs.

And no, I have no problem with neither of the 2 whining factions, I just play the game and adapt to the situation accordingly.

    Thank you and come again.

  20. you don't start every promise with "I promise" and "I give you my word" it was said that Nouver will come in September that didn't deliver then they said before Christmas of 2016. CMs are representatives of the company allowed to speak on its behalf sooooo not sure what mushrooms you are on.

It seems you need it explained as if you were a little kid. Fine, I'll bait. As I said, I agree that if a company that provides a service fails to meet a goal they owe it to the customers to give at least some sort of sorry excuse and most importantly a new ETA (things in which Kakao lacks sorely, unfortunately). This said, and even if CMs are representatives who pass on messages from the company to us, they make no promise, but just statements. And yes, you make a promise by starting your statement with "I promise", "I guarantee" or an equivalent, there is no other formula to discern from a mere statement and a real promise. Furthermore, as I am sure you are well aware of, you are not entitled to call someone a liar even when they fail to meet a goal, unless you have proof that they never had any intention to reach this goal.

  21. Oh, stomping stupid people over and over can be massively fun. It is rare to do so alone, and a few friends help spread out the karma loss and help cover more ground. It is the perfect kind of break from mindless grinding.

But the point is that if someone screws up a rotation (leading to no one getting anything decent) then it will and should come to a confrontation. The best has always been those who are civilized and offer to duel for the spot or those who begin with an offer/desire to party and to work together. It is rare I'll ever say no to someone who wants to party up and I'm happy to contest a spot to see who can hold it better.

Just yesterday a guy started going the opposite way to my rotation and just spouted the nastiest words and showed a sense of complete entitlement. I gave him a little bit to do the right thing before I killed him. He -----ed and moaned about it and came back so I killed him again. More whining about fairness and calling me names. And I was ecstatic because chasing that guy down and running him off was a lot more fun than the hours of mindless grinding I was in the middle of.

At the end of the day the spot goes to the fastest/strongest group. That's it. That's why when I get kicked from my A-spot I have alternate areas to farm.

If you are content with it, then no problem on my part. But I suspect from the salt in your post that you aren't content with it unless your victims choose to change channel, and you just pretend to enjoy "stomping" PCs when you'd much rather continue stomping NPCs.

  22. Anyone know where is this city?

Everywhere in the continent known as Europe. In the same area you can also find Velia, Olvia and Calpheon just make sure they are medieval towns (= they expanded in the Middle Ages)

  23. Everybody should respect a common rule (like irl): first come first serve.

Nothing to argue about pking or griefing.

except there is no service. It's not like you wait in a line for your turn. Spare us this bs.

You can respect the common rule that if you act like a jerk and try to mess up my rotation, I will kill you over and over. If you keep coming back I'll camp you until you swap channels.

That's the game. You either hold a grind spot or you don't. And if you can't, go elsewhere.

As if you weren't wasting time just like the other party and the other party was losing something, while you do lose karma. I don't know who the heck do you think to "threaten" with these statements?
