It's pretty RNG, but you should take a look at this thread where people have posted stats of lvl 30 T8's.
    http://forum.blackdesertonline.com/index.php?/topic/109407-your-t8-horses-stats-at-lv-30/

I don't understand PA/Kakao's design philosophy.  Let's make things super tedious to make/obtain/produce, slap tons of RNG on them, and make people nearly want to quit the game out of frustration.  Then, let's give everything out for free.  Wouldn't it be better game design to make things more accessible via playing the game, so more people actively play BDO, rather than just afk activity 20 hours a day and get things for free via attendance rewards.  Bleh.

  2. Gavyne added a post in a topic Do you think there will ever be an MMO that looks as good as Black Desert in the near future?

MMO's still have problems balancing looks vs performance vs accessibility.  If you have a publisher/developer willing to make less money to cater to a smaller niche crowd, then yes, you could have MMO's looking as good as BDO.  But for the most part games publishers/developers are shooting for better performance and accessibility (wider audience).
Most games are still wanting to have features such as large scale PvE raids, or large PvP battles such as GW2's WvWvW where you easily have over 100 players in the same zone fighting at each given time (3 servers fighting in the same zone).  BDO can't do these things well because they tipped the scale towards looking good while sacrificing performance & accessibility.  We can't even go through towns without choking a bit here and there.
So uh will there ever be a MMO looking as good as BDO?  Sure, it can be done now, it actually had be done before.  But MMO's requiring high system requirements and performing poorly usually don't garner a large enough playerbase for rest of the games publishers/developers to follow suit.  The incentive to lose out a large chunk of the available playerbase just isn't very attractive.
At the moment WoW is all about accessibility, which is why it has the largest playerbase still.  BDO is all about looks and shinies.  GW2 to me is kind of a fairly good balance of the two.  Hopefully we get more choices in the future as there's a serious lack of choices on the market right now for people wanting good looking, action combat MMO's.

lol that's rough, but hey horse outfits are supposed to increase your chance at learning skills!  *barf*
Maybe the horse is revenging you for naming her Keke.  You know, Korean game, Keke translates into haha.  LOL

Yeah this is not time for people to whiteknight the issue.  We need to know more.  You never, ever, trust a gaming company to do what's right for you. This is why you don't just assume you're "safe" and "ok" if your password didn't get reset.
So far there are too many inconsistencies to who got their passwords reset and why. People who didn't use 3rd party sites with the same email address also got their passwords reset.  We really need to know what 3rd party sites they're talking about and what information was stolen (was it clear password? encrypted hash? what other personal information was taken?).
We're getting the usual cryptic messages that's why people are questioning it.

Please elaborate on what 3rd party website was compromised, what was compromised (clear passwords?  encrypted hash?  any other personal information?), and what you've done to prevent this from happening in the future.  Did you also email notify the affected users?  Not interested in PA/Kakao's usual cryptic announcements.  Security breach is a serious issue, this is no place for hidden stats.

  6. Gavyne added a post in a topic Will BDO succeed?

BDO is a niche game, it isn't on the same level as WoW or even GW2.  But you don't need WoW's population to be considered a "success".  BDO caters to a niche playerbase well so the game should be able to keep going without a problem as long as they keep cycling in content and new classes.  Just don't expect this game to get popular in the West.
Also as a rule, new MMO's get 1 chance to make an impression, and that's at launch.  After launch, you can run ad campaigns and release expansions, you can draw some players back and attract some new ones, but you never get back to the initial peak level of players.  There are rare cases where a game revamps and relaunches and got more popular, but they are rare.  So don't expect this game to grow beyond its previous peak capacity.
The game is beautiful, it runs on a decent proprietary engine, and the action combat is fun.  But the grind above soft cap is not something majority of the gamers in the West are willing to stomach.  BDO's anniversary census graph shows only 5% of the playerbase population were above lvl 56, that's telling in itself.  The heavy RNG based gameplay from gear upgrades to lifeskills to luck based market system are also not attractive to most of the gamers here.  The system requirement alone alienates majority of the players that are playing WoW, because if you know WoW's success, you should know a large part of it has to do with its accessibility.
The lack of player trading have guilds from other games wondering why.  Lastly the pearlshop is very expensive, $25-$34 outfits class bound, compared to other games where outfits are usually around $10 and account-bound.  But with that said BDO seems to cater to whatever their fanbase wants so as long as they keep going down this road, and keep coming out with content at a decent pace, it'll do alright.  It's successful in its own way.

I usually don't exchange anything over 45mil.  Anything less, it become less worthwhile to sell due to 35% tax.  When you smash, just don't expect anything, and sometimes you might be pleasantly surprised.

I know they won't change how it works based on anything we say here, we are merely money cows for them to milk.  So I'll just give my personal opinion.  I think the system made horse breeding worse, and I never made a pearl off selling the horse either so I'm not just saying it because I miss selling horse for pearls like some others do.  I'm pro free market systems in MMORPG's.  Everything PA/Kakao have done so far have only restricted things further, made the game feel less like a MMO but more like a personal afk simulator.
When they made artisan workers announce, I've noticed less artisan workers being posted.  When they made T8 horses announce & the 10min wait, I've noticed less quality T8's being posted.  Every restriction they add to the game, the end results have been less supplies and less options for buyers.  I never liked the whole no player trading bs in the first place, and I equally hate a luck based marketplace.  I don't really care if this system makes it so there are less gold sellers ingame.  We are giving up way too much for it.  Not to mention the game designers didn't do this for our benefit, they did it so they can sell $34 outfits, $6 breeding resets, and $15 value packs just so you don't have to feel so robbed by the stupid 35% tax system.
Speaking of breeding resets, for the past 3 weeks I've trained and bred horses without using breeding resets.  The end result after 3 weeks?  I'm about out of females above T6, just as I thought would happen.  So while there are still people trying to say breeding resets are not needed, especially in those other threads where people bash horse breeders.   You can tell they aren't horse breeders at all by the things they say.  Horse breeding profession is such P2W and cash cows for PA/Kakao.  This is why I don't think they'll change a thing, because they're happy to keep milking.

The game's paying Aastrid back for all the terrible luck prior.  I'm happy for you, looks like you're going to have a great horse.

So my latest breeds between T7 lvl 30 male x T7 lvl 30 females gave disappointing results.  One T7 male two T7 females, results were two T6's and two T7 males.  I don't normally do exchanges since I need the silver for gear still.  But, made a rare exception this time due to being extremely disappointed.

It's a frigging miracle!  I may have to rethink about the no exchange policy

  11. Gavyne added a post in a topic Do you think BDO will last long enough?.

I have my complaints about BDO, I really hate the hidden stats, RNG/enhancement endgame, and terrible server performance.  With that said it's one of the very few solid MMO's on the market today with action combat, with interesting & fun to play classes, and a fairly large scale game running on a pretty good engine feature-wise (not performance wise, feature-wise).
BDO isn't going anywhere, but the way it's designed, it'll also never get as popular as some MMO's in the West such as WoW and GW2.

Yeah it's actually pretty cheap.  If you think about it, 12mil to breed with someone's lvl 30 T7 male.  How long would it take you to level your own T7 to lvl 30?  A week maybe?  And in that time, could you not have made 50x the price needed to pay to breed on the market?  Yup yup.
Of course most people don't have this "too many T7 females" issue, so most just level up their own males.

lol with females, you can buy breeds as people put up male breeders all the time on the breeder market.  Not to mention people actually sell males on the market.  If you have a problem like most people have, having too many males and not enough females, then you are completely utter stuck.
Like I said, it's a good problem to have, it's solvable.  It's nothing like failstacks, which is a whole other discussion in itself.  Personally I hate the failstacks & RNG mechanics in this game, but that's just me.

I'm talking specifically of the exchange rate.  Let's take the discounted Anemos for an example, at 1760 pearls, they net 13,455,000 ingame tax-free.  That's 7,644 silver per pearl.
Sprint will net you over 5mil.  1 skills change coupon is 200 pearls, also discounted right now.  That's 25,000 silver per pearl.  And I haven't even factored in the bumped up value of courser yet.  Even with added 30% tax you're still way over the exchange rate of buying an outfit and selling it on the market.
