    Interest in an unofficial artwork contest?
    Are there many artists here interested in an artwork contest? I was considering to hold one with these rules:
    Design and draw original swimwear which fits the world of Black Desert. I'll link a couple of characters, and you choose one of them to use as model for the artwork.I'm considering the prizes to be this: 1st place gets 2500 pearls, 2nd place gets 1500 pearls, and 3rd place gets 1000 pearls. Rather than getting pearls directly, winners choose items they want from the cash shop which is equal to the amount of pearls they won.There will be 2 sets of rewards for the contest: best female swimwear and best male swimwear. So that means two sets of top 3 prizes.People can submit as much artwork as they want, and they can submit both male and female swimwear and be eligible to win both categories. If a single artwork piece contains both male and female swimwear, that piece of artwork is eligible to win in both categories.I'm not sure how long the contest should last, but I'm thinking 2 weeks. I've held contests in the past and I've learned that a long deadline doesn't help much. Many artists tend to wait until the last day to finish and submit their artwork.The submissions will be primarily judged on the artwork itself. Designing unique, cool looking swimwear is important, but the goal is to get fun artwork. So basically, cool looking swimwear + fun or sexy artwork is the way to go.After the contest, I'll do my best to spam every single Kakao and Pearl Abyss email address I can find with links to the contest, so they'll get to see the fancy artwork, and maybe be inspired to make swimwear costumes for the game.So, any artists here who would like to participate in this kind of contest?

    I played in some of the early KR betas, and there are specific things I miss, but overall, the game has improved drastically since then.
    The one thing I do miss are some of the animations. It's apparent they went for a more realistic feel. When you're start running, you'd enter a jog animation, then a run animation if you tapped shift, and then a sprint animation if you held shift. They removed the jog animation entirely, and then made run and sprint drastically faster. It does look rather silly now, but I understand why they made the change. The world is huge. The old movement speed would make it extremely slow to traverse the world whenever you didn't have access to a horse. Maybe they could have done it differently though, like keeping the jog animation and specifically making sprint faster and last longer.
    Combat speed change was an overall good change. It made combat overall more exciting, and I don't think the faster animations in combat look bad.
    One specific thing I miss is the fence vault animation. That was a nice way to quickly get over small thing objects, but it was removed (I assume because you could do it by accident while climbing tall buildings and fall down).     I calculated the XP gain from one trip so I could tell how much I would earn in the long run. I don't need to sail for 10 hours to tell how much XP I'll gain in that time when I could instead sail for 1 hour and multiply that by 10. You can see the numbers I posted in the previous page. They'd have to increase the XP gain by at least 10 times to make it a more realistic goal. And even then you'd have to be sailing 24/7 for years in order to reach Guru 1.

    I have done a bunch of manual sailing, and I didn't feel it was a very fast way of leveling the skill. Before making this thread, I had a friend of mine help me calculate how much XP you get from sailling from Port Ratt to Epheria, and it is really trivial compared to the quest. You can go ahead and test it yourself if you don't believe me. Not to mention the fact that you have to do a lot of manual sailing just to do the quest at all.

    The XP you get from actual sailing is trivial compared to the daily quest, so even if you somehow double the speed of the sailboat or galley, it will still be slow.

    So that means my numbers might actually be too low? It might be closer to 200 years rather than 108?
    That was just a quick estimate, I haven't actually timed it. I don't have the Skilled 1 skill yet, so it must be longer than 36 minutes for me. That means I was being very generous with the afk sailing estimate.

    Let's say you have a +3 Sailor's outfit, so that means with value pack you have 30% XP boost. And I think going from Port Ratt to Epheria takes around 20-30 minutes, so let's say you earn 2200 XP every 25 minutes (it would be lower than that since auto pathing is slower than moving manually).
    So that means at least 16 years to reach Guru 1 by afk sailing 24/7. And it's not even practical as the stamina for a ship doesn't last more than 1-2 hours of continuous sailing.

    Yeah, I'm sure they'll eventually add more stuff which will increase sailing XP. But I feel they should start by tweaking current numbers. In its current state, Sailing is nearly 100 times slower to level up than Fishing.

    Reaching Guru 1 in sailing
    Leveling up sailing has some pretty good rewards. Skilled 1 seems to unlock a skill similar to sprint with horses. Artisan 1 lets you turn faster while sailing. Master 1 lets you turn while the ship is still. And then the big one, Guru 1 reduces cannon reloading time.
    Skilled 1 takes a bit of time to reach, but it's doable. But how much time would it take to reach the other skills? Well, let's look at some numbers!
    There's a daily quest at Port Ratt which gives you sailing XP (8500 if you go to Epheria, 12000 if you go to Altinova, and 15000 if you go to Ancado Harbor). You get around 2220 XP (with around 30% life skill boost) sailing from Port Ratt to Epheria, so the daily quest is a much more effective way of gaining Sailing XP.
    Life skill XP requirements were discovered at one point: https://www.reddit.com/r/blackdesertonline/comments/4jl8mm/should_exp_numbers_be_shown/ (they match up very well based on my experience, so I think these numbers are correct.)
    So with these numbers, we can get a very accurate idea how long it'll take to reach these levels. Let's say you do the Port Ratt daily quest going to Ancado every single day, then this is how many days you have to do it:
    Skilled 1 would take 20 days in totalProfessional 1 would take 69 days in totalArtisan 1 would take 323 days in totalMaster 1 would take 2267 days in total (6.2 years)Guru 1 would take 39629 days in total (108.6 years)Skilled 1 is doable (although slow compared to other life skills). Everything else ranges from absurd to literally impossible (well, unless you make it a goal for your grandchildren). They really should drastically increase the speed you gain Sailing XP (and/or lower the requirements for the skills).

    I've only played a couple of hours, so there's no way I could give concrete answers. A lot of moves makes him move around and increase his movement speed, so he definitely feels very mobile.
    His hadouken doesn't seem to do much damage so I'm not sure what role it would have (maybe I have to spec into it for it to show its real potential). One thing is for certain though: considering how it looks and behaves, this is definitely a hadouken rather than a kamehameha. The mystery of the Striker has been revealed!
    And speaking of being inspired by fighting games, I like that moving backwards is his block move.

    [KR] Striker grinding gameplay montage
    I've been playing as Striker for HOURS (around 2 to be exact), so this seems like a good time to record a quick showcase of some action filled grinding!
    I'm pretty impressed by the class overall. It has a very unique feel to the combat and they did a good job making all the animations feel satisfying. And it's fun how it's obviously inspired by a fighting game character.
