I completely agree with everything you said, although I think you are overplaying the impact of PR. If they announced it at a better time it will definitely have less community outrage, but the impact will still be very significant, in a bad way.

I haven't read the book but I might pick it up in my spare time.
I first watched that video you linked years ago from someone who made similar arguments to OP. Guess what? Battlefields Heroes was shut down 1 year after that video, so I guess it does point to what we've been saying this entire time. Yes, P2W and psychological baiting is excellent for short term revenue, but at what cost? People lose trust in the company (EA has an absolute shit reputation) and the game never survives for long.
What is the revenue lost of being constantly labelled worst company ever like EA? I don't have hard numbers, but I would be willing to bet it's more than they made with Battlefields Heroes.

Both interpretations are actually acceptable because it is not clear what the subject of the brackets are. However you are correct, and that's only worked out by the fact that LoL is mentioned in that group.

I think this is very easy to understand in terms of game theory. The Nash equilibrium is considered to be the perfect strategy to extract maximum resources in a game design, but it is almost always the incorrect choice to maximize everyone's earnings. In fact, if there is a mutual trust between all parties, everyone earns more.
Name 10 random very successful brands. Which one got there by taking shortcuts with their product to maximize quarterly profits rather than earning a loyal market from social trust?

That game released 5 years ago and the publisher is still objectively less greedy than Daum at this point in time. For that reason alone I kind of feel bad they're not doing too well. Gameforge can go ----- themselves though, I was only talking about EME.
This thread reminded me of a research article I read a while back that concluded highest paid CEOs had the lowest performing companies in the long run. One of the most interesting proposed explanation is because people usually look at immediate metrics to determine how much a CEO is worth, so highly paid CEOs tend to make short term decisions to boost quarterly profits. In the long run, it almost inevitably leads to poor performance.
The stakeholders love to see the numbers go up though :^)

TERA NA is also merging 3 of its servers. TERA NA did and will always do better than EU though, because EU is more P2W lol.
If you want revenue spikes by all means go P2W. It's the difference between milking your cows and slaughtering them for some quick buck.
Games like PoE, LoL, etc will continue to thrive, but P2W games don't last more than a few years tops.

Path of Exile has more people watching stream right now than Archeage has online on steam. Because P2W leads to success, mirite?

It's interesting because the examples he listed as "successful" such as TERA, GW2 and Archeage are not considered successful by most people. Most MMO players would have heard of GW2 financial troubles and cancelling planned features due to lack of development cost. They would have realized how pathetic Archeage playerbase is now. I was heavily involved in TERA community and staff, and that's not doing very well either. There was sacking, moving to other markets and more aggressive P2W tactics... which dropped the population further. In fact, TERA thrived during the non-p2w periods.
Companies like Riot, Blizzard and GGG seems to have built up hugely loyal communities from not betraying customer trust. Even though they publish games objectively less P2W than TERA, Archeage, BDO and GW2, I'm willing to bet all 3 make more money and are in no danger of having to slaughter their cows for meat.

Pls why do you even try? He's obviously here to troll.
You can't have definite sources without having authorities on the subject. There is no such thing as P2W expert or w/e, so you can never have a definite source in the first place.
Yes it is very basic lol.

You can't fool me. Someone that bad at basic maths can never get a STEM degree from any respectable institutions.

I'm saying if you have money for 100 tries rather than 10 tries, you will more than likely end up with a way higher enhanced weapon. How to get 100 tries instead of 10? Pay real money and buy more materials from the market.
How someone fails to understand something this simple actually mind-----s me.
Not hard to see why -.-

I already responded to your query. Bring my response on page 4 to your middle school maths teacher and explain BDO enhancement to her. She'll explain it to you step by step.
