  2. Hey all. I was asking myself for a while now: "How old is the Black Desert Online forum community?"
Ive searched for 2 days now and cant find any thread about it. So I decided to create one. As far as i know the game  gets a 16+ (EU?) restriction. I also looked up something in the forum (http://forum.blackdesertonline.com/index.php?/topic/414-age-restriction-on-bdo/) about this and what i should get.
Some people show their date of birth in their profile, but not that many. So i get curious and I am asking you! Of course you wont have to say something you dont like to!

For myself, I am 22 years old, young, whatever! Have fun and be polite!
  3. So like many people I've been waiting for years to get a Western release, especially after seeing the character creator, and we're finally getting it. So I plan on buying the Conqueror's
Package as soon as I get the funds. I'll be playing on the NA server and wanted to just get integrated into the community. I've played a bunch off mmos before but probably nothing as intricate as this. This game looks awesome and I can't wait to start.

  5. Hey everyone!
Let me introduce myself I go by Solaris. During the day I'm the CIO of a small computer company  and provider. Most of my experience comes from past work As a System and Network administrator. I'm currently going for my Masters degree in digital forensics.  Why does this matter for BDO? simple I like to make things and projects.

By the looks of it most of you don't need it and some of the well established communities are doing just fine. However I recently rebuilt a server I'v had online for the last 4 years. I do networking as a hobby at home just as much as it is apart of my job. I would just like to offer my teamspeak server for the smaller starting communities or even large ones that would like a place to hang up.

I don't have the time to make a fancy header but currently I host http://www.teamdotexe.org/ which alas will be rebuilt in the comming months to NGINX instead of apache. So it may look vastly different in the future. I host some game servers (though the list needs to be updated ATM just rebuilt the infrastructure etc) which any of you are obviously free to use.

The TS server I host is voice encrypted on all channels and runs on a 512 slot NPL license. I use a bot to manage AFK users and MIC mutes (meaning you will get sent to the AFK channel after idling after 60min). I can set up specific servers if your team/guild gives me a compelling reason or I can dedicate a channel specifically for your crew so you can mingle with others on the server including TDE natives.
Of course if you wanted a dedicated channel / server I would imbue with the permissions needed to manage it and create your sub channels.

    Why do this?
Why not? I enjoy technology and running a live server I like meeting new people and I had trouble when I first got into gaming finding a sable place to be. My uptime is generally stable. the domain and various servers and their functions have been running for the better part of 5 years. I want others to be able to experience having a place to "be" should they not be able to provide one for themselves or friends. TDE is a true neutral in this case. We are a pseudo gaming community that Made a place to hang out. There aren't many TDE natives but who we do have were around from almost the beginning. We encourage and hope some people take advantage!
    There is no catch.
I don't collect data and all information is secure and not shared. You don't need to worry about "Being part of TDE" or otherwise. You and your group are you. You can mingle if you wish or not. I am honestly just happy to provide the service.
If there is no catch to the service what's the caveat?
You are right here you got me. If you should mingle in the general server please follow the rules here. http://www.teamdotexe.org/?page_id=68

Otherwise if you have your own channel and guild/club what have you. I'm not really concerned with how you all act with each other and I would have no real business too.

We hope to see you on!

You may talk to any one of the staff members with a rank of OPS or above to gain rights to move about the server (new connections are locked to "The Bar" our default channel until they are promoted to "User" we do this to prevent people in other channels from being poisoned by bots and trolls.) You can see more about the staff layout of the TDE natives by going to our TS informational page, which also includes a view of who is currently online here. http://www.teamdotexe.org/?page_id=68
Should you be interested in the social thing most info about downtime etc is posted on Facebook.

If you need to get ahold of me post here or drop me a PM! With any questions or comments!

    Introductions!

We are a community from Tera Online's launch, have been around since April of 2012. After the game had reached it's peak for us, we started to slowly grow into other games, so we have now become a community for multiple games!
Introductions are in order! My name is Sleiyer. I have been playing many games since the olden days, am a father, and proud Nerd/Geek. I have 7 max characters on Tera alone, main a healer whenever possible, am laid back, easy to get along with, on daily, and willing to help anyone who asks. I also stream on Twitch, play many other games, and just like to relax and have fun with fellow guild members.  I got into making guilds back in 2008 when I got tired of playing in zerg guilds and alike. I wanted a decent size guild, but a family oriented one where people actual cared about and took care of one another. Thus Valiant was created, which has now grew and become a multi-game network.

    Goals!

Our aim with the guild and network is to make sure everyone at end-game is geared, helpful to other members working their way to end-game, to help lower levels learn their classes or skills to become better players and to be one most welcoming guilds on the server! We plan on also working on the trades/fishing/gathering and a guild castle in this game. We want to have active allies as well (see below)* If this seems like something that you would enjoy, or you have more questions to be asked of us, please leave a comment below or join us on TS!

*Note* If you are a GM of another Guild, and are looking for Allies, please email  valiantgamingnetwork@gmail.com
We will allow any Allie guilds we accumulate to use our TeamSpeak at their leisure but be reminded, any obscene or negative behavior will not be tolerated.

    Requirements!

We are looking for players to come and join us!
At least one Guild Quest per day!

Additionally, we only want to have active people, who are social, willing to communicate with others, and those who want to help others whenever possible.

We have a TeamSpeak server that is constantly active with members of the community, and in BDO's channel. We are looking for people who are willing to download and join us on TeamSpeak, this is a requirement to join*, and will be used when running PvE, PvP, and of course, GvGs.

*(Only Required for Group Raids/PvPs/GvGs. Will not be invited to end-game content groups without having it. You do not have to speak, but at least be able to hear the others in the party you're running with)

    Misc Info!
***Most of us hang out on BALENOS 02***

The most active hours of our guild are at night times (3pm - 5am EST). Notwithstanding that, you will be able to see players online throughout the day.

House cleaning will be performed every month. We do this to keep the guild clean and with active people. If you are going to be inactive for an extended period (vacation, sickness, etc), let and admin know, and we will make a note of it. Otherwise, if you have been inactive for a month or longer, you will be giving a warning, and if you don't respond within 3 days, you will be kicked. This does not mean that you are not allowed back in however. Just reapply and explain why you were missing.

  9. Greetings, Sinned here from a cold Sweden, I just wanted to say hello as a new adventurer and to wish you all a Happy New Year!
I'm really excited to play BlackDesertOnline as I will have access to the second beta test. To see both this game and our community develop in the future will be a fun experience! It's awesome to see so many active and nice players on the forums and from what I've seen, this seems like a really nice community!
  10. I wish everyone a
    "Happy New Year!!"
Really looking forward to playing CB2 with everyone!!

  11. Post on PVP Recognition. in Suggestions

    By Kraves, posted
I know what you're all thinking, what could this "crazy skeletal guy be suggesting with the dozens of other suggestions flying willy nilly." Well my fine community of lovelies and not so lovelies, my suggestion is this, PvP Arena League system, insane right? Well the main reason I suggest this is that there is no recognition if you're a crazy pvp maniac, plus the only rankings we do have are for life skills, highest wealth, and leveling. Yes, it is an open world PvP game based solely on Sieges, Guild Wars, Node Wars, and of course open world PvP when the level is reached. Now don't be anti-funsies here but wouldn't you like to have a little fame or glory for spending your whole time honing your skills and getting better? Why not have it in a ranked 1v1 match for the arena, or even 2v2s, 3v3s, etc etc. This is a Player Vs Player game, but wouldn't it also be fantastic to be known as the warlord of the arena?
Pardon my horribly long one paragraph with no pretty pictures.
  12. I'm going to pose a simple question with a perhaps not so simple answer.
Will the ArcheAge communities mentality/presence/desires kill Black Desert?
Former and current ArcheAge players are for a very large part disgruntled, jaded and leery of everything that could potentially be good because of the experience there. Additionally the game nurtures toxic behavior.  If you haven't noticed or didn't play, a large portion of forumers and those that took part in the beta were from ArcheAge and expressed quite a bit of disdain/comparison in in-game chat.  Plenty of posts and suggestions and warnings being posed here are because of things that happened in ArcheAge.
    Just give your honest opinion.
Updated: to add things I didn't want to.
  13. Hello everyone and welcome to The Guildless \o

A friend of mine and I have created a Discord Server : https://discord.gg/0infzgh4c9QOGYYx (If the link has expired then please comment, and I will update it as soon as possible!)
(If you haven't tried Discord out yet then you're really missing out. Its a program much like TS. You can check it out here: discordapp.com)
This is for all players; solo, guildless or those searching for guilds to join. We're going to be a casual and helpful community with no requirements to join at all. Its all about having fun and getting to know your fellow BDO players.
We thought that could help people to get to know others and maybe they would start their own guild, or play together in a group when the game was released, or simply just stay in the server to talk and discuss with others, not only about the game but also about everything else aswell! ^^

I hope you guys, who still needs a place to hang around, will come and join us. Maybe something amazing will happen

  14. Black Desert Online is a fantastic game, and we'd all love to make it even more fantastic. Therefore, I'd like to remind people of the following:
Consider the larger perspective and possible effects. CBT1 is not the endgame here! A solution to an early game problem may worsen our late game experience. We've learned, in CBT, the equivalent of throwing a football - but the rules are still unclear, and restitching the football now will make it harder for us later. Instead, think about how our solutions affect, not just our current game, but our future.Renew old suggestions and maintain new ones. I've seen great suggestion threads posted, only to fall through the cracks of "no one is continuing to post on this thread". Right now, a lot of our Suggestions forum is full of new topics about old news! We don't need five threads about lowering pot CD, they get it! We'll instead keep the suggestions we support on top by bumping them. Learn to accept criticism and our own fallibility. Your suggestion is probably really good, but you overlooked that one detail that might make it fail. This is a human endeavor - we all act in the best interest of the game, but our understanding of the game may be incomplete. Luckily, this is a human endeavor - our experiences vary. Those with different experiences from us can help us perfect our suggestions, but not if we keep flaming them.Show your reasoning for your viewed problem and solution. Saying "let us trade!" is not acceptable. Instead, reason your way through your thinking: "Reintroducing trade may be beneficial because of effects A, B, and C on the economy" is much better. These are just my suggestions... for our suggestions.
  15. Daum,
Please post the statistical results of your CBT1 survey for the community to see where the community stands. I believe, in the interest of transparency, we should see how participants in the closed beta responded. This way we can hold your feet to the fire in a manner of speaking .

  17. Yesterday, just keeping an eye on in-game chat during the late evening, it seems the community may be heading in a direction similar to League of Legends; (non-helpful to answering questions, rude responses, calling people noobs, telling people they should google the simple question first, etc.). Obviously, it's no where near as toxic as League of Legends, but would Black Desert reach that point if it continues down this path?
Having a friendly, active community is not necessarily what attracts me to a game, but it keeps me playing. For instance the game, Puzzle Pirates. I'm not sure who else has even heard of this game, but it has one of the best communities I have ever seen. I continued playing that game for an additional year, at least, because I just flat out enjoyed talking to everyone. Everyone was beyond helpful, nice, and friendly to be around.
What can we do to prevent Black Desert heading down a path of no return?

     ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Was haben wir denn alle gemeinsam?
    Genau!

meinen unseren inoffiziellen Black Desert Community Server

Wenn du Vorschläge hast, kannst du sie hier kommentieren und ich werde sehen wie ich sie einbinden kann.

  22. Hi, I would like to inform Black Desert players that our community host a Teamspeak that is unlimited for as many users as possible. there is restrictions so if you do join it the community channel is only available but if you are a leader of a guild or group and would like to have more privileges i can make that happen for you. All i need for you to do is send me in message to  my profile on here and we can discuss the rules. Again anyone is welcomed to use this Teamspeak all i ask in return is for you to have fun and follow the rules. Rules will be posted on this thread as well.
I ask that people Bump this thread so that people can be aware of this free teamspeak being offered.

    Rules:
Be respectful to one another. if you are not my community officers will tell me and you wont be welcomed back. That's it the one rule hope you guys have fun and enjoy Black Desert!

    Teamspeak info is as follows
    devastation.killervent.com
    Password: death

  23. I am curious on what server is everyone going to play ... i haven't decided yet, either NA either EU, depending on where the community is the biggest.
  24. I am truly concerned to see Daum Europe so casually let their quality, top CM go during CBTs' critical community relations period. I would be put at ease if we were given more information about the situation and if we may be assured of his return.
Changing CMs "arbitrarily" right before CBTs when the game's development is at a critical juncture requiring good communication with the playerbase is bad enough without the possibility of office politics. The sudden news of Oli's departure without any reason given is not encouraging.

Who is CM_Oli?I was impressed with Oli's handling of the interviews with MMO Culture in September and Black-Desert.com in August. He was polite, fluent, knowledgeable and willing to share what information he was allowed to share without making promises he had no way to keep. Sometimes staff are tempted to offer players empty promises to build their popularity or hype the game. Or they cave to pressure to offer hints or defend the game against concerns and criticisms by alluding to unofficial work still in progress. The fact that he made none of these mistakes while keeping the interview as transparent as possible encouraged my faith greatly in the future staff of Daum Europe's team.
Interview with the Editor of Black-Desert.com in August 2015:

Interview with cinderboy of MMO Culture in September 2015:
    https://mmoculture.com/2015/09/black-desert-interview-with-daum-games-europe-for-action-online-game/
I reasoned that if Daum Europe knew how to hire a CM like Oli, intelligent, enthusiastic, and mature, the customer service, community advocacy, and game development through player feedback would be guided well. His dismissal or "voluntary" departure is distressing in equal measure to the confidence his presence inspired. Questions fill the silence that do not offer assuring answers.
Why can't Daum Europe keep quality staff? If our CM needed to take a "leave of absence" for personal or family reasons, I could accept that. But I would expect Daum to offer him his place back on the staff early next year in 2016 (if he could return that early) or possibly let him continue online functions through the interim even if he could not be present at the Daum Europe office. Depending on his availability and the circumstances, I would suggest Daum Europe be flexible about how they handle such a situation.
Keeping morale high before launch is important and this sudden inexplicable change is not indicative of positive office relations. If Daum Europe cannot keep quality CMs, it can be an indication of interior management problems, and these problems always affect the quality of the customer service, community relations, and community support eventually.
If Pearl Abyss wants to keep developer connections strong and positive with the community, retaining quality staff is crucial and essential and the position of CM no less critical as the pivotal interface between the playerbase and the developers.
If our CM was offered another job like at Blade & Soul, I could offer my blessing for that new voyage. But a pink slip or sudden quit bespeaks of unresolved issues without positive conflict resolution. I am not the one behind the desk evaluating employees at Daum Europe, but I can tell Oli is a quality staff member and competent CM in an industry full of commonplace mediocrity. His departure reflects badly on Daum's ability to retain quality staff and casts a shadow over the potential retention of quality staff representing the players in the future.
Even if he doesn't place blame on anyone, his silence on why he is leaving speaks volumes. I would not ask for a euphemistic "business-speak" lie if the truth is as I have already postured (some kind of interior disagreement or shuffling of positions). But it is a bad sign for the state of the game to have this change now, of all times, right before its first CBT which requires special attention from a quality CM.
CM_Jouska has made a few posts, and I don't doubt his sincerity to perform his job well in Oli's absence. However, it would be irresponsible of Daum and unrealistic of the players to expect him to replace Oli in every way. Quality people are not replaced easily in the gaming industry especially on short notice, and individuals can never be replaced.
When you have someone good on your staff, you keep them if you can. Why is Daum letting Oli go and what is the outlook of his return?
Thank you for your consideration on this matter. I hope a more satisfying answer can be given the community on CM_Oli's future continued employment at Daum Europe.
I was considering Pre-Ordering, but this alarming shift suggests I should wait and see until after the Closed Betas if the game proves not another bitter disappointment through poor management. AA has left scars on community relations I would not wish on my enemies.
