  1. Post on Again a FPS thread in General

    By Xxy, posted
Hello people, I have a problem with fps and I saw some threads but I never found a fix.
So my pc is good enaught for bdo for sure:
    i5 7600k, gtx 1080ti, 16GB
I set the Xbox dvr thing to 0 and I dont know what to do, I get random fps drops, even in empty cities, but most of the time at the storage, does anyone know a real fix?
  2. I brought this game since 2 mouth never played because always had a dowload issue until now but the first time i joined i was like WTF really my computer cant handle this because i was always had like 20 lower fps even in optimazed mode so i was trying to find a solution but it wasnt a topic it was a comment my solution it said "I just know that black desert online had issues with nvidia  since the 362.xx so i decided to prove that i just download a lower version like 361.xx and install it IT WORK OMFG oh and yeah you should turn off the vsync that stuff is really a fps eater so now i have 40-50 in cities and 60 in the wild still dont know for boss fights because as i said im new but this is my experience with fps problems
This is my own driver dont know for you guys is compatible
    My Specs
    Intel Core I5 4440
    HyperX 8GB RAM
    Geforce Gtx 750 ti
    64x Windows 7 Ultimate
  3. This only works for windows 10 and it will only work for a very small amount of people.
If you play at 60 fps and it dips constantly down to 15 fps (Mostly in combat) Then this might be a fix for you.
Is your desktop background a slideslow? Simply change it to a single picture and NOT a slideslow.
Worked for me, might work for others figured I'd say something.
  4. Hi
    So thats my computer:
    Processor Intel Core i5-6400, 2.7GHz
Graphic Card Sapphire Radeon RX 480 Nitro+ 4GB
    8GB RAM
    Win10 64 bit
Not bad, right? It fulfills minimum and almost reccomended requirements of BDO and even on the smallest graphic settings i had only 30 fps and it drops all time.
I have already checked my drivers, they are updated,
    I have Direcx12.
    What's the problem?Please help.
(Sorry if there are some mistakes, my english is still not prefect )
  5. Post on Soucis de Perf ! in Report de bug

Comme beaucoup de monde j'ai des problémes de FPS sur le jeu. (28 quand je bouges pas 10 -15 quand je Grind !)
J'ai désactivé la V Sync. Driver a jour, formater mon Pc, Fix RegEdit, Changer paramétre d'alimentation.
    Ma config
    I7 4770k
    24go Ram
SSD 240go dédier au jeu + 128go dedeier a windows
Enfin bref je vois pas quoi faire. Changer de CG ? de CPU ? Tout les screens sont fait IG.

  6. Ever since the new patch dropped on 3/29/2017 there has been this invisible wall on Kuit island (Pirate island) that whenever you walk through, causes my game to lose all FPS momentarily without hesitation. It is in the same exact spot every time I walk through it and every single time I walk through it I lose all my FPS. Before you ask if its just lag or my pc performance, it's not. Granted I don't have the best rig to play on by any means, this was not an issues prior to the patch, and there is no randomness to it, it's spot on every time and for some reason only happens when walking through it from south to north.
I walked along the line seeing how far it went and this is what I came up with. The line started just to the left of "main" along a pathway and ended toward the back right of "mountain" on the ramp to the top pull. In every single spot along this line, if I crossed it heading north I would get about a second or two of gameplay with 0 FPS then everything would go back to normal. I would cross back to the south, and nothing.

I have tried restarting my computer, repairing the client and even reinstalling but nothing did the trick.
Please, if anyone else is experiencing this or has the time to test it for themselves if you're going to be in the area, let me know. Or if you have a solution for it already, I am ears open.
Figured it out. Can't keep my Epheria sailboat out because if I get too far away it makes my game skip. If I check it in at the wharf everything is fine.
  7. CPU: AMD FX 8300 Vishera 8-core 95W Overclocked to 4.2GHz
    GPU: Nvidia GTX 970 4Gb
    Motherboard: MSI 970 Gaming AM3+
    RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16Gb DDR4 2400MHz
OS: Windows 10 Pro 64 Bit
FPS maxes out at 25-30 even on low settings out in the open, and as soon as I go into town, it drops to below 10 FPS. all the while, I'm getting extreme stuttering issues. I tested it on a friends PC (specs below) and was getting 30+ FPS in town with no stuttering. Anyone have any tips?
    Friend's PC:
    CPU: i7 3770 3.4 GHz
    GPU: GTX 750 TI
    Motherboard (unknown)
    RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16Gb DDR3 2400MHz
OS: Windows 10 Home 64 Bit.
Other than the CPU, there's no reason why a GTX 970 should be running so low on this game. I've overclocked the CPU, disabled power saving settings such as cool and quiet, and even made sure the driver versions are up to date.
  8. Here's just stuff we have discovered while playing around with graphics few days ago ... another case as with "High-end" option that did nothing but chew away your FPS?
After series of updates my game was slowly loosing FPS, or rather, I've started BDO during release using MAX. graphics with turning off "High-end" mode as ppl recommended. After Winter update everything went to s**t and just kept getting worse. I was limited to medium/lower-medium details if I wanted to even be in Heidel. Outside cities with no population it was medium/high.
Well, one guy from our guild said to dissable Screen Filter to boost FPS and I have accidentaly dissabled Photo Filter instead. Well, it gave me so tramendous FPS boost that I can running game on Max. Details again with 20-30 FPS in Heidel while standing at Warehouse on Ser 2.
Summary: Dissable Photo Filter setting it to NONE ((That's what your monitor can do on itself BTW)) and Screen Filter for max. effect.
    MY PC specs.:
AMD FX-6300 (Ryzen 1600X comming soon)
    AMD 390X
    4x4GB DDR3 (4x4GB DDR4 comming soon)
    SSD 250GB OCZ
PS: To ppl who don't know yet, High-End mode really has no effect asside downgrading your FPS, that's what was discovered in early release in EU. Also recommended is using borderless window mode.

2048x1152 everything at max except high end mode.
    All drivers up to date.
    Can someone explain to me why am i getting 60 ... 23 .... 58 ..... 18 .... 55 ... 40 ..... 59 ..... 30 ...... 60 .... 22 .... 60 .... 34  in frame conunting when grinding?
Not to mention slide show in towns/world bosses.
And to add market place lag.
I mean GMs for fu_ck sake ... do you even play your own game? How can you release update after update and ignore problems like above?
Can i get a reply here from the staff?
  10. Hello everyone.
    I have the following system:
    CPU: AMD FX 8350 @ 4 Ghz
RAM: Corsair Vengeance quad channel kit @ 1600 Mhz 16 GB
Video: XFX RX 480 Black edition 8 GB VRAM
    SSD: Samsung EVO 850
I am having serious FPS dips during world events. Stuttering and low FPS are a common thing for me making the game unplayable (it dips to ~ 5 FPS constantly). Any ideas as to how I can fix this are much appreciated (Game runs properly on high most of the time).
    Thanks in advance!
Anyone has any idea about this thing?
  11. Hello, I wanted to buy premium versions, but at first I checked games to play them, I did also.
And my problem appears as follows:
I have amazing lag in town, exp, farm everywhere really ...
    My set:
    GTX 970 GAMING 4G
INTEL XEON E3 1230 v2 @ 3.30GHz - specifically for this game I turned on the 3.7 GHz turbo mode (12 fps increase and still has a problem)
    8 gb ram 1300 mhz
The problem is the following: during a simple stroll, wherever I have lags, with 40 fps I can play the game and lower down to 0 fps and so all the time.
Where with the usual bf4 witcher / ultra game at 80-100 fps
I do not know if this game is not normal or not, but I hit 31 lvl on this delay, I liked the game. I wanted to buy her and still want her, but as I see .... these drops I really do not care about playing it.
Any tips? What could it be? I turned off v-sync in nvidia and the problem still occurs ... And as I drive the horse through the city ... it's completely lost my faith in this game ..
  12. Hi all,
I would like to share my research (not my very own) with you guys. To improve game performance especially for BDO.
This is for NVIDIA graphics cards but can be usable for AMD cards too. *Not the NVIDIA settings*
    * I run BDO with max settings on 130-144 FPS. Even in cities and crowded places. Sometimes it drops below 120. *
I will make some screenshots today later.

    My setup:
    CPU: i7-4790k 5Ghz
    GPU: GTX 1080 2.2Ghz
    RAM: 16GB 3Ghz
    Disk: SSD
    Network Interface: 1Gbps
    Network speed: 500/500 Mbit

Some stuff we need to know:
    1. Game priority
    2. GPU usage
    3. GPU throttle

    1. Game priority is very low on this one. So your GPU will use only its default clock on (Minimal).
    2. GPU usage, from NVIDIA Settings. The GPU doesn't force its maximum performance. *It does not*
    3. GPU throttle? No throttle. It's basically not enough Power. Not enough juice.

What we need to do is (trick) the game / GPU to force its maximum performance.
How? Well, EVGA guys have an option to use K-BOOST. I don't have EVGA, I do have STRIX. So that K-Boost option isn't available.
But I want to FORCE my GPU to have a maximum clock rate at any time. You can't do this on PASCAL cards, yet.
So on your GTX 980 you can make a custom bios. But this is not the case.

Now we are going to do some adjustments.

    Before we start.
I have monitored my GPU behaviour and my systems. My GTX 1080 was running on 1.6Ghz Core Clock with BDO. After applying these configurations, It was on 2.2Ghz. A huge difference. But how?! Well, my GPU is overclocked *Boost Clock* to 2.2Ghz. Default (base clock) is 1.6Ghz. This game almost ran on 1.6Ghz everytime even with Overclock. So these tweaks actually cranks up your GPU by tricking to run on MAX Performance. That's all. And some other tweaks.
And make sure you BACK-UP your register first!

    Network Throttling Index Gaming Tweak
Works with all current versions of Windows from Vista to 8.1/10/2012 Server.
Windows implements a network throttling mechanism to restrict the processing of non-multimedia network traffic to 10 packets per millisecond (a bit over 100 Mbits/second). The idea behind such throttling is that processing of network packets can be a resource-intensive task, and it may need to be throttled to give prioritized CPU access to multimedia programs. In some cases, such as Gigabit networks and some online games, for example, it is beneficial to turn off such throttling all together for achieving maximum throughput.
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Multimedia\SystemProfile]
"NetworkThrottlingIndex"=dword:ffffffff (DWORD, default: 10, recommended: 10 for media sharing, ffffffff for gaming and max throughput, valid range: 1 through 70 decimal or ffffffff to completely disable throttling)
It is only recommended to change this setting in saturated Gigabit LAN environments, where you do not want to give priority to multimedia playback.
Reportedly, disabling throttling by using ffffffff can also help reduce ping spikes in some online games. Games that may be affected by this throttling: Source Engine games (TF2, Left 4 Dead, CS:S), HoN, CoD, Overlord series.
    System Responsiveness Gaming Tweak
Exists in all versions of Windows from Vista to 8.1/10/2012 Server.
Multimedia applications use the "Multimedia Class Scheduler" service (MMCSS) to ensure prioritized access to CPU resources, without denying CPU resources to lower-priority background applications. This reserves 20% of CPU by default for background processes, your multimedia streaming and some games can only utilize up to 80% of the CPU. This setting, in combination with the "NetworkThrottlingIndex" can help some games and video streaming. We recommend reducing the reserved CPU for background processes from the default of 20%.
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Multimedia\SystemProfile]
"SystemResponsiveness"=dword:00000000  (default: 20, recommended: decimal 10 for general applications, 0 for pure gaming/streaming)
Note: In Server operating systems (Windows 2008/2012 Server), SystemResponsiveness is set to 100 by default, denoting that background services should take priority over any multimedia applications.
    More Gaming Tweaks
This section includes gaming-specific tweaks not listed in our general tweaking articles (and not implemented by the TCP Optimizer).
In the same Registry hive as the above two tweaks, you can also change the priority of Games, compared to other types of traffic. These tweaks only affect games that communicate with e Multimedia Class Scheduler Service (MMCSS). Below is a list of the settings and default/recommended values:
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Multimedia\SystemProfile\Tasks\Games]
"Affinity"=dword:00000000  (DWORD, default: 0, recommended: 0. Both 0x00 and 0xFFFFFFFF indicate that processor affinity is not used)
"Background Only"="False"   (REG_SZ, default: "False", recommended: "False", possible values are True or False). Indicates whether this is a background task.
"Clock Rate"=dword:00002710  (DWORD, default: 2710, recommended: 2710). The maximum guaranteed clock rate the system uses if a thread joins disk task, in 100-nanosecond intervals.
"GPU Priority"=dword:00000008  (DWORD, default: 2, recommended: 8. range: 0-31). The GPU priority. Not used in Windows XP and 2003.
"Priority"=dword:00000002   (DWORD, default: 2, recommended: leave alone if using "Scheduling Category" below, set to 6 otherwise for gaming, possible values are 1-8). The task priority, ranging from 1(low) to 8(high). Note  for tasks with Scheduling Category of "High", this value is always treated as 2.
"Scheduling Category"="High"   (REG_SZ, default: "Medium", recommended: "High". possible values: Low, Medium, High)
"SFIO Priority"="High"  (REG_SZ, default: "Normal", recommended: "High") The scheduled I/O priority, possible values are Idle, Low, Normal, or High.
    TCP Optimizer (Network optimization)
While the SG TCP Optimizer is designed to give you the best possible throughput online, it can also help improve your gaming experience. There are, however a few subtle differences when optimizing for throughput/file transfer vs. gaming/reduced latency.

To tweak your system for the best possible gaming performance, please follow these steps:

    1. Apply the Optimal Settings
In the TCP Optimizer, set your advertised internet speed, choose the "optimal" settings, and "Apply" them (you can postpone the reboot for now).

    2. Set Network Throttling Index (This also can be set from Regedit)
In the "Advanced" tab of the Optimizer, set the "Gaming Tweak - Network Throttling Index":
    NetworkThrottlingIndex: disabled:ffffffff
    SystemResponsiveness: gaming: 0

    3. Disable Naggling (This also can be set from Regedit)
In the "Advanced" tab, set the "Gaming Tweak - Disable Nagle's Algorithm":
    TcpAckFrequency: 1
    TcpNoDelay: 1
    TcpDelAckTicks: 0

    4. Apply the Optimizer settings and reboot when prompted.

Simple things we forget. Or maybe not.
Set your Power Management on Max Performance. We did this in the NVIDIA Settings. But we have to do this on Windows too.

This guide is totally safe because I do confirm. It cannot harm your PC. But before you do some tweaks in Regedit. Please make a backup if you don't like the outcome.
  13. Aye guys,
So I am having a semi-issue with Black Desert Online right now. To say in usual I run a lot of higher end games at over 200+ frames, and I have a pretty good PC; I have a 1080 as my GPU and a i7 4790k 4.5GHz as my processor. If you want any other computer specs or information that could assist you just ask. Anyways, so I'm getting about 50-60 FPS in towns, and 60-90 or maybe sometimes 100 frames if I'm lucky with max settings. I get the SAME FPS when I'm running the game at the absolute lowest settings with more of a stutter. I'd like to get my full 144hz out of my monitor to watch the game in super clear beautiful gameplay, but I feel something is holding my rig back from performing. I'm honestly not sure if it is connection based on the server, or it is optimization, or if it is something on my end. Does anyone have any solution they've been able to find so far? Thank you much.
  14. Post on 2 FPS in Website Tech Support

    By Maranda, posted
I just finished downloading BDO and every time I log in and go to start its just stays on 2FPS
  15. Hi guys,

Just wanted to let everyone know about this before you'll end up spending couple of days reinstaling software, programs, playing with nvidia/amd settings etc. LIKE ME

So recenlty i upgraded my gaming laptop to GT83VR 7RF, it's really beast machine so I was wondering why the hell I'm still experiencing some FPS drops and stuttering while playing the game.
After trying ALMOST EVERY solution possible, that includes registry editing, windows files editing, messing with nvidia settings etc I found out that the Micro-Stuttering I had is caused by God damn Marketplace.

    Found this post on reddit

"OK, don't know if this is just a placebo-effect or pure coincidence, but if you have the problem that your game from time to time suddenly starts to stutter like crazy or FPS are for no reason suddenly very low, than try the following: Open the menu, click on market place, go to "mine" and close the window with the X. I read that somewhere else here on reddit and... it's crazy, but it seems to work. Someone mentioned that there could be some bugged routine with the window that shows the marketplace and that black spirit minigame, so it sometimes needs huge amounts of CPU time for no reason. Don't know if this is true. As i wrote: Not sure if this is maybe just coincidence, but try this when you have the problem too."
As I checked, this soulution works especially for MICRO-STUTTERING (check youtube how it looks like, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5LkokfEeaIQ - here is a good example on witcher 3) BDO has this problem that if you start to micro-stutter it wont go off after you "close the marketplace properly" so it's reeaaaaaaaalllllly annoying. I was experiancing drops from constant 60FPS in the open to jumping arround like crazy 44,48,58,61,35 even when idle.

I hope this helps guys and you won't end up like me with reinstalling almost every software you have. Have a good one!
There is one more thing. Apperantly cohorent in your processess of CPU causes to overheat it and uses too much of your cores power. If you want smooth gameplay make sure u force to close it. I was told that you won't be able to browse marketplace after this so make sure you know what you are doing. Restart the game if u want MP back.

JAI MEME REINSTALLé MON PC POUR RIEN !!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!

  17. Post on Marketplace bug? in In-Game Bugs

    By Qasim, posted
I often switch characters to use Marketplace, however, when switching back to my main character I notice serious stuttering, fps drop.
To fix the stuttering then, I open Marketplace from main menu, and close it by clicking the X and not esc, and the fps goes back to normal.
I think Marketplace menu is bugged? I can do a video please let me know
  18. I thought I'd start the inevitable thread about the anniversary event with my experience.
I saw the announcement, rushed over and queued to change channel for ages, going over the time. Luckily the spawn was roughly an hour later than initially advertised so I had plenty of time to stand around mashing potatoes.
There were so many people that my FPS was low but adequate.
After the final 5 (15) minute count down and RedNose spawned on EU_Balenos6 near me, I dived right in and got my prescribed hit, woo. I then did as much damage as I could.
Then a second RedNose spawned and I started having FPS troubles.
Then finally I died, the lag severely impeded respawning and many people were unable to respawn at all. Finally after button-mashing I got it only to be instantly disconnected from the server.
After 3 attempts at loading back in to a dead character and then resurrecting, I finally was resurrected instead of booted from server. Woo, I run over to find the boss dead and no loot.
I'm an hour and a half into my anniversary event experience at this stage. I run around a bit hoping my pets will be able to find something, no joy.
Then An announcement is made that another boss will spawn in 30 minutes.
Is there even a point me sticking around?
Do I ever get loot for coming along to this event as promised or have I just wasted 2 hours of my life?
  19. When BDO came out I was using 3 GTX 770's in SLI and was getting a solid 60FPS on maxed settings with no overclocks on the CPU or GPU's with aggressive fan curves set for all devices. I had 3 1080p monitors yet only ever used 1 for gaming in a landscape configuration. On a whim I tried playing with all 3 monitors in a portrait surround config (3240x1920 3K) and as expected my FPS died, 5ish FPS in towns, 10-20ish wandering around with the same in game settings, nerfing them into the ground made it very playable at 45-55 FPS in towns. Sadly I had my heart stolen seeing such lush visuals and couldn't believe what I had been missing out on playing at 1080p all this time. Now that there's no going back for me I need some advice on where to go, so lets get the basics out of the way.
    What I'm working with currently.
    Motherboard: ASUS Maximus V Extreme
CPU: Intel i7-3770k currently overclocked to 4.4ghz @1.35v (Auto clocked by built in mobo profile)
CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i *Even at 100% load with the overclocks I've not seen it exceed 60*c compared to the stock intel cooler which would hit 65*c with stock clocks and 40% load
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 32gb DDR3 2400hz (XMP auto tunned)
HDD: Crucial MX100 512 SSD Primary drive for OS+BDO
GPU: Titan XP's SLI'd with high bandwidth bridge
PSU: Corsair Ax 1500i (I want to run a microwave off my PC, shhhh >.>)
Monitor: 3 ASUS 60hz 1080p panels in Portrait surround. 4k UHD Samsung TV 60hz
The current system/config runs at a stable 60FPS in 3k with everything enabled except High End Mode in most areas of the game, World Bosses+Towns can drag it down to the 30's/40's. An interesting note is that when I use the 4k TV I end up with higher and smoother frame rates than using the 3k surround method. In either display configuration my GPU's laugh at everything thrown at them, even with some 200+ people running around all whilly nilly as expected of the highest grade consumer tech available as of this posting. The issue most certainly stems from the CPU at his point and given the age of my rigs foundation it basically means I'm up for an entire rebuild as there is no upgrade path for that CPU or Motherboard.
One of the big things I was reading about was how Titan's scaled with displays. in 8x 8x SLI configs they did better in 1080p than 16x 16x, however when put on 4k/5k displays tje 16x 16x scored anywhere from 20% to 80% FPS improvements over 8x 8x so the baseline CPU has to have atleast 32 PCIe lanes dedicated to the GPU's. Coupled with the fact that I'm aiming for an M.2 SSD I could say a 40-42 lane CPU would be a sweet spot. I am aiming the put in a custom loop for Titan's so I can play around with overclocks finally and am unsure if I should do the same with my CPU or just stick with AIO's. If a custom loop provides some significant overclocking headroom versus an AIO then arguably would pursue that route as well.
I'm not a fanboy and am just looking for what gives me the most gains, if theres a compelling enough gap I would gladly switch.
One of the things I was reading about the Kabylake E series CPU's was the ability to have EACH core reach the same clock speed across the board instead of distributing the higher clock to most burdened core which is one of the reasons I've put off doing a rebuild... Assuming I read that correctly >.>
Phew... TLDR: Aiming for 120FPS on 4k what would you pick as your:
    1: Motherboard
    2: CPU
    3: M.2 SSD
The more in depth you make your case the more it contributes to my decision on the matter

  20. To prevent potential problems in running Black Desert Online and not only, here are a few tips to enjoy a smooth gameplay. Games use different kind of softwares, installments and frameworks connected to your hardware and operating system. Your video card is important, but also your processor or your RAM(memory). Select your apropiate operating system and have theese checked:
Keep video card updated to the latest drivers(mostly thru updates a lot of fixes can be done): NVIDIA page : http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us, AMD  page: http://support.amd.com/en-us/download ;Direct x end user runtime installer,  most games use specific files from other Direct X builds, so is good to have them: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35 ;Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015 : https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145 ;Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 :  https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=21 ; Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5 : https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30653 ;NVIDIA PhysX System Software: even you  think you don’t need this because you don’t use nvidia hardware, is good to have this also checked: http://www.nvidia.com/object/physx-9.16.0318-driver.html. Have fun, enjoy your playtime.

  22. Post on Low fps! in Technical Issues

    By Styrupp, posted
Hi, i had low fps a long time on bdo on max settings.
    My system:
    CPU: I7-5820k base clock 3.3 Ghz  /6 core 6 treads. - clocked to 4Ghz
    Ram: (2x8GB) Kingston HyperX 16GB  DDR4 2133MHz
    Storage: 500 g ssd samsung HD103SJ.
    Graphic card: GTX970
In game i had 20-31 fps on max settings.
So today i upgraded my graphic card to a GTX1080 and i still have the same fps. 20-30 itch.
Anyone who got a fix for this? don't have this problem in other games..

    Check my userbench
  23. ** UPDATED: Found way to boost performance and unlock FPS by a shocking amount in FULLSCREEN mode. Credit goes to Jackal Hawk on youtube ** Scroll to the bottom.
I have seen a few posts about this from back in January - we asked for reponses and haven't heard anything back. My guildies are talking about it, my friends are talking about it, it's affecting a large amount of the player base if not all (knowingly or not).
** if you're going to get stuck argueing about what the eye can see and not see, please feel free to not **
    My specs:
i5-6600k @ 4.5 ghz, unparked (yes you can still do it, let's just move on from this)
    GTX 970 Strix @ 1400 mhz
16 gb ram / game installed on SSD
Nvidia control panel - BDO V-Sync forced off
I'm currently running game on Medium, Nvidia control panel V-Sync forced off.
I came back to BDO a few weeks ago after a long hiatus and since as far as I can remember, my FPS has been locked to 64. Today I went to an open field to get some screen shots, cranked my settings to high end mode on high, FPS dropped as expected. After taking the screenshots, I went back to Medium settings - for some reason... my fps was uncapped, @70~90 This was the FIRST time I've ever seen my Nvidia forced V-Sync off work. I have no idea why switching it to high end on high and then back to medium unlocked my FPS. So I went back to town, FPS still unlocked, was also getting higher than my usual numbers. Then I hit Tarif, FPS still high as hell, no lock - until I talked to the skill instructor. After going through his dialogue and exiting the quest interface, my FPS was locked again. Instantly it sat at 45 in the town, and when I left town I was back to 64. In the exact same area, before I talked to the quest vendor, I was at 90. I tried to duplicate the effect, couldn't do it no matter what.
And what does all that mean?
Well you already knew the game was optimized like a potato, but why hasn't it been dealt with? Having consistent performance on BDO directly relates to your enjoyment of the game - if you've paid money, shouldn't you get the best the product can be? We need a response if this is in the works.
    So why should you care?
Well if you have a good PC, and a good GPU, you should be enjoying the game at a consistently high performance level - hell you paid a crap ton of money for that build didn't you?
If you have a low end PC, you're getting screwed because the game is extremely poorly optimized, and you're probably looking at what looks like Lineage II when you could be running it at a higher setting with the same FPS.
This game could play so much better if the performance was consistent. This is just one example of all the crazy inconsistencies I've seen in the last few weeks. GM_Huego, give us something!
TL:DR - FPS lock went away after cranking settings and turning them back down. FPS lock came back when I spoke with a quest giver. Inconsistent performance across the line - optimization of a potato. Lots of posts about this from other players - no formal response from Kakao. This affects our enjoyment of the game, please answer us.
FPS magically went to 79 after switching to high / high-end and back to medium.

*** Temporary Fix until Kakao does something ***
Things you need to do to gain the most performance:
    1) Override game graphics settings by going into Nvidia Control Panel, create a profile for BDO, force off V-sync / Tinker with Anti-Aliasing, Max Pre-Rendered Frames. You can find endless guides on this, I won't go into it.
    2) CPU Unpark - Google it, download it, run it, unpark CPU.
    3) Whenever you run BDO (the game, not the launcher), go into your Task Manager, find BDO, right click and hit show details, right click the .exe, set priority to High. You need to do this everytime, there's no way to set a launch option for it unfortunately. This has boosted my CPU usage quite a bit (good for performance).
    4) READ THIS IF YOU'VE DONE 1, 2 and 3.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nLwBOCsobWo - Jackal Hawk on youtube, watch his video if you don't want to read.
Go to the youtube link either way, go into his description, download the Gaming Performance Booster. Do not try to google it and download it because you might end up downloading something that's not meant for this purpose - there's lots of timing tools out there. As always, when tinkering with CPU stuff, do it at your own risk - this is by no means a dangerous method of obtaining performance, and will work for every game, not just BDO.
After you download the gaming booster (timing tool), open it up, set timing to 0.5ms, and you're good to go.
If you've done the above, you should be getting quite a bit of boost in performance. On top of that, you will have broken through the FPS cap.
My frames went from a locked 64 max, to 100~150 depending on the area. My city performance went from 30~37 to 37~45. I now run the game on slightly high, with high textures - where as before I ran it on medium settings and medium textures. I went up in quality and in performance with this solution.
Edit: added screenshot of new performance

  25. Post on Fan Noise in Technical Issues

    By Lokina, posted
I've recently cleaned out my fan due to overheating and re-installed drivers because my BDO has very low framerates (1-24fps) as well as changing my battery settings to Balanced from Power Saver
This had increased my fps and im able to play at leas at medium graphics and textures. However, my fan speed is really high which is making a lot of noise (very loud buzzing noise)  is there a way to reduce the fan speed to just to make it a bit quieter without affecting the performance of BDO and not get the low fps lag again?
