  1. Hey guys,
With Margoria added there's also a quest line named: [Lv. 55 Ocean] The uncharted sea, History of Margoria..
Now, soon enough you'll need to gather 10 oysters. It took me over 1h20m just to find and gather the oysters. I've only found 2 spots to collect them. I asked other players near me but most of them didn't even found a spot.
Just recently there's 1 spot added to the bddatabase but I've found a second one.

This is the place you'll find them on your map.
Here is the view from the spot to the quest giver.
This is where you can find 2 spots. Both inside the red circle.

Hopefully you'll find use in it and don't waste over an hour looking for them.
  2. EDIT: DONT ANSWER WE SWAM TO NEW PORT THANKS

  3. We have a fish costume now and will get a shark costume with each giving some bonuses to swimming or diving. Couldn't there be some ACTUAL Swimsuits or Swimming Trunks to compliment the "needs" of the people wanting normal swimwear?
We all know you got those sexy and cute Swimsuits hiding somewhere under your sleeve, just waiting to get released when player count starts stagnating.  I mean, this is an Korean MMO, right? Where are the School Swimsuits?!
  4. Posted a complete Fish Species List for the Margoria expansion due for launch this Wednesday 25 January 2017. This should be of use fishers adventuring out to the new ocean sea areas. I don't normally cross-post but Margoria is nearly here and this will probably be of use in planning for the launch.
Guides > Margoria - Fish Species List (Provisional)
It includes the new fish species and fish tables broken down to the new sea areas, both fishing and harpoon species. it will be confirmed and updated once we are able to access these seas.
Hopefully it will be of use for finding specific species including for the new fishing weekly quests etc. It also contains general notes and details for the new sea areas and other fishing related information.
If you have any corrections, suggestions etc please post them to that thread.

Added note on distance bonus varying in the same sea area (nearest node to fished location to trader).28 January 2017 - Removed trash listings as they appear the same across sea areas (Fish Bones, Seaweed. Generally Sandeel appears part of trash table also from recent fishing data). Added note on Port Ratt town being trash only. Confirmed Beluga Whale (removed Bottlenose Dolphin) and Cuttlefish for Vadabim Sea - Orange zone harpoon species. Removed Provisional tag as (I have sample checked all sea areas for fishing and harpoon species. Possibly some more lower quality species to add over time.2 February 2017 - Added Squid and Surfperch to Margoria - Yellow zone - West.06 December 2017 - The Gold Key item has been added to some fish tables in the 29 Nov 2017 Patch Notes (no note for this) notably in Margoria ocean areas, Velia Hotspot, Grana city & Lake Flonder in Kamasylvia. it is not known if this is a permanent change as it is impacting relic drop rate in these areas. When this is confirmed then the guide will be updated.13 April 2018 - The Laila's Petal blue quality item has been added as a low drop rate chance to all regions, both freshwater and sal-----er. The item is used for the new Fairy pet.Introduction
The Margoria Expansion (Ocean) is being launched on the 25 January 2017 in the EU/NA region. Introduced on 21 July 2016 in Korea, the expansion brings a range of new content, including new seas in the wider ocean and also new fish species.
The list here is taken from various sources posted to Korean forums (many thanks to 중2병소환사입니다 - 2 bottles of a Summoner plus the other KR fishers). The lists were translated from the Korean and cross-checked individually with the new fish species now in the data files of the EU/NA version. The fish table for Ross Sea has been confirmed already personally, as we are able to fish it already (over the barrier).
The new sea area fish tables include most of these new species plus existing species (only yellow quality fish added). Also species in the data files but not in-game until this launch ( for example Sturgeon, which will be a harpoon species).
For other water areas check out:
BDO - Ocean Fish Species List
BDO - Freshwater Fish Species List

    Important Note
Being based on details from the Korean version of the game, these details are provisional and may change. From test fishing so far, the details have matched the list with some lower quality species to add; possibly some change to harpoon but will update as these are covered. Generally it is accurate for the EU/NA region.
There is some detail missing (mainly in incomplete green and white species listing). It is unlikely that there will be any change to the EU/NA regional version, however, there is no way to be certain until launch that these fish tables are the same. As I fish these new sea areas any changes will be noted here and missing species added.
    Map & Key
New sea areas (N to S) and fish tables taken from this MAP (also attached to this post).

Vadabin Sea (바다빈 해역) = Orange & Grey

Take colours from the linked map for reference (yellow is more of a dirty yellow on map)In the original Korean 작살 = harpoon (header for harpoon species)Fish identified by colour to reflect their quality.Further details of the Margoria sea areas on this thread.Further details for the new fish species on this thread.Where fish tables cross sea areas, check the fish table. Where possible they are indicated below. No confirmation whether there are any fish spawns in the new ocean area or not.The sea areas are marked only approximately and will vary in the ocean, changing on the mini-map and text when crossing boundaries.Sea Origin nodes work differently from current seas. There are not islands for nodes but multiple ones in each sea. See notes below for more details. For updated maps showing all sea nodes, island nodes (new sea regions and species to be added) check out Fam's BDO Map Site.General notes are included below the Fish List for further detail and information. Also a section setting out Why fish the Margoria sea areas?

    General Notes
Luvar (f) and Giant Squid (h) available in all open water ocean areas (like existing Coelacanth (f) and Sperm whale (h)).Bahaba species appears not to be included. It appears that trash can be caught even in deep water, unlike current oceans.Generally, it appears that the proportion of high value species is higher than in current sea areas (TBC but is this way in Ross Sea). There is evidence from Ross Sea fishing that the drop rate of Ancient Relic Crystal Shards and Silver Keys is also higher. This is likely to be the case across the entire new ocean which perhaps reflects previous comments about better quality fishing the further north the fisher travels. However this remains to be confirmed for actual fishing data in the new areas. Each new sea area contains multiple nodes to discover. It is not clear yet whether all nodes are require discovery for the sea Origin to connect correctly to the trader node, or just the node actually being fished in that sea. It looks like you need at least a cleared (no fog) discovery of nodes from fishing location to Port Ratt or Lema Island (as these two are auto linked when Port Ratt is discovered) to make the required link. The fish tooltip now includes some detail of how to correctly connect nodes for trading fish caught in the new ocean area:※ If you want to sell fishes caught in the ocean for fair prices, you must connect the nodes between Lema Island and your point of sale. You also need to discover the areas near the fish’s origin. The new sea area nodes do not require CP investment, just discovery. There are three islands that require 5 CP in total to connect to Port Ratt. See Fam's BDO map site for details. It's confirmed now that the distance bonus for trading will vary depending on the nearest node the fish was caught. So fish with the same Origin sea area, may vary in bonus depending if they were caught in the same location of multiple locations/ nodes. Most likely it is a direct distance from node > Trader.Sea area closest to Haso continent, in the small grey area possibly in between it and the land is green species table only. Port Ratt safe zone itself is only a Default Trash Tables (Fish Bone, Seaweed, Sandeel) and very slow fishing time. Do not fish in Port Ratt for this reason, or the Vadabin - Grey zone either. The new sea areas contain the fish required for the new Fishing weekly quests (vary depending on Fishing skill level) given by the new NPC, Katio the sea otter on Nada Island (see link for fishing quests available, rewards, completion conditions and requirements). Check the list for the required species. Some may be caught in existing waters or more than one sea. Each weekly quest contains at least one harpoon species so some harpoon fishing will be required. They require a level 56 character with the required skill level
Why fish the Margoria sea areas?
The main reason to fish the new sea areas is for the higher quality fish tables. Compared to existing seas, they all have three yellow quality species (only one in most current seas) meaning a higher percentage of these fish which results in more EXP gain (fish quality dictates Fishing EXP) and silver income. There is also evidence from fishing already in the Ross Sea that the fishing time is much faster being on average 15 seconds compared to a general average of 25 seconds which is very noticeable. For active fishing this means much faster filling of the inventory and quicker EXP gain over time. Even for passive fishing it speeds up the cast > bite element. One of the main reason fishers venture out further in Korea is to obtain the maximum 150% distance bonus for trading fish caught. There is compelling evidence from Ross Sea fishing data that there is generally a higher relic shard and silver key drop rate, which also increases income over current water. Finally, there are the new fish species, both fishing and harpoon, for the Fish Guide and knowledge entries.Balance this better fishing with the increased travel time and potential dangers of Sea Monster attack, potentially PvP (no karma loss at sea as in the desert) and random Ghost Ship attacks (at night). The developers have given quite some thought to the risk/ reward balance.

  8. Hey folks,
I've been searching the forums but I've yet to see an answer for this - the official post regarding Margoria from Kakao says "guild-versus-guild naval combat―the best way to establish dominance on the new trade routes".  So, I may be reading in to it, but it seems like based off that statement there will be naval wars OVER trade routes.  Am I reading this wrong or is this going to be like Archeage were guilds will be fighting each other over cargo at the open sea?
Again, apologies if it's been made mention already - the wording in that post is just kind of, interesting - to say the least.
    Thanks!
Just to note, I've asked around in the game as well and haven't had anyone that can answer this question.  Hopefully someone familiar with the Korean version may be able to answer if they have a moment.
