  1. Post on Guild Quest limit in General

    By Hyperblast, posted
Is it possible to increase the guild quest limit from 5 to 10? its pretty easy to burn through 5 quests a day so having it set to 10 would be great.
  2. Introduction
I have played MMORPGs for around 10 years now.  Of those 10 years 2 of them have been dedicated towards playing the Tamer class in Black Desert Online.  I am now level 61 with 1800 skill points.  I've been in Manup, Gravity, Barcode, FML, WaifuHunta, as well as Support back in KR.  I am not the best Tamer out there, but I do have more experience with the class than most.  I hope to give back to the community that has helped me the most over these past two years. If you have any questions comments or concerns please feel free to share them below and I will do my best to get to everyone.  Enjoy the guide!

    Gearing
    Mainhand
Rosar: Gives +1 Crit and +1 Attack Speed at Yellow Grade. The best pre boss drop mainhand weapon. I suggest not getting this item past DUO/TRI. My suggested new player weapon.
Liverto: Gives +3 Crit and is the first endgame item that requires memory fragments to repair.  I suggest not getting this item past TRI.  Many will go from Rosar right to Kzarka because this item has trouble selling on the marketplace.
Kzarka: Gives +3 Attack Speed as well as the most accuracy per enchant. This is the BIS item for most if not all classes.  Get this to PEN if possible.
    Celestial Bo Staff
Practice:  Good for players starting out who can't yet afford a blue/yellow grade item.  Gives +5 PvE damage but has the least AP of the lot.  I do not suggest getting this item past DUO.
Azure Thunder:  Your  main staff until you get a lucky Dande drop.  Gives more AP than the Practice staff as well as +7 PvP Damage.  Can also be upgraded to yellow grade for more AP. I do not suggest leveling past TRI.
Dandelion:  Best staff in the game hands down.  Gives the most AP of all 3 staffs but is also the hardest to acquire do to it being a rare drop from a world boss.
    Trinkets
Questline: Gives a nice mix of  AP and DP as well as an accuracy buff with 2 crystal slots.  This is probably the best item to use for a player starting out.  It should hold you off until 56 when you purchase your needle trinket.
Incense: Gives Accuracy +7 and Accuracy every upgrade.  This item paired with full ap accessories is very powerful, and is now my trinket of choice.
Needle: At yellow grade this item does great damage, but forces you to use RCE's instead of AP accessories.  I suggest swapping to this for increased grind speeds until you can get around 200ap with Incense.
Blade: Gives Evasion +3, HP +100, and Evasion every upgrade.  This item only has one crystal slot but gives the most evasion out of all the other offhands.  I don't suggest you use this over rosar because of it's lack of two crystal slots.
Rosar:  Gives Evasion every upgrade and comes with 2 crystal slots.  This item has less evasion than blade but does significantly more dmg than it too.  I only suggest this item for players going a hybrid build.
Nouver: One of the Boss Trinkets.  Gives the most AP of all the Trinkets as well as 10% All Resistance.  This weapon does significantly less dmg than needle because of its lack of special atk dmg.   I suggest getting this only for a full resist build or for breaking blocks easier because of its high base ap.
Kutum: The other Boss Trinket.  Gives AP, DP, Hidden PvE Damage, and 10% CC Pen.  I suggest getting this for grinding and 1v1's as that's where this item will shine the brightest.
    Armor
Grunil: The old popular armor set for Tamers before getting full Boss Armor.  This set gives +150 Max HP, All AP +7, as well as up to +8 Damage Reduction if upgraded to Yellow Grade.  This set also has 8 crystal slots to socket for late game play.  The only problem is that this set is very picky as to what pieces you must equipt for the set effect to apply and it's ap bonus is broken if you put on a single boss piece.
Heve: The new popular armor set for Tamers before getting full Boss Armor.  This set gives +300 HP and 8 crystal slots but that's not the reason most will go for it.  Ulike Grunil, this set gets its effect with any 2 pieces equipped at once, which goes very well with the new Dim Armor Quest Line.  This set also allows for you to get a piece of boss armor without breaking the whole set effect like Grunil does.
Rocaba: This set is usually used in conjunction with other sets and for PvP focused players who are going for an evasion build. The full set gives +75 HP, +75 MP, +7 Evasion, and up to 8 Damage Reduction if upgraded to Yellow Grade.  Like grunil/heve this set too has 8 slots for crystals.
Boss: The best set in the game hands down.  Gives +200 Stamina, +200 HP, Increased Evasion, Increased Accuracy, +1 Attack Speed, +1 Cast Speed, as well as 8 slots for crystals.  Sadly its greatness comes at the cost of being the most expensive set to buy and repair.
    Accessories
Neck: Ogre/Layten/Seraph/Bares for AP build and Sicil for Evasion build.
Belt: Basilisk/Shultz/Bares for AP Builds, Tree Spirit for Accuracy, and Centaur/WeaponCore for Evasion build.
Ring: Crescent/Mark/BlueCoral/Bares for AP build and Red Coral for Hybrid build.
Earrings: Witch/Tungrade/Bares for AP and Red Coral for Accuracy.
Note: Red Coral Earring has a great ap:accuracy ratio, which on some builds is very powerful.
    Best Crystals Setup
Weapon: x2 Black Magic Crystal - Precision (20% CC Pen and +4 Accuracy)
Trinket: x1/2 Magic Crystal of Infinity - Critical (+2 Crit Damage)
Helmet: x2 JIN Magic Crystal - Harphia (+40 Evasion, 100 HP, and +10 HP Recovery)
Armor: x2 Magic Crystal of Infinity - Evasion (20% Special Evasion) or Magic Crystal of Perfection (+1-2 Luck) for max luck while grinding.
Gloves: x1 JIN Magic Crystal - Viper ( +1 Attack Speed, +1 Cast Speed, and +20 Accuracy) and x1 Black Magic Crystal - Valor ( Crit +2 and Grapple Resistance +5%)
Shoes: JIN Magic Crystal - Hystria and WON Magic Crystal - Hystria (+3 Movement Speed, +50 Weight, and +225 Stamina)
Note:  Buy a costume coupon with pearls and equip it to a +1 crit rate outfit like the Blacksmith's one.  This will allow you to get +5 Attack Speed, +5 Crit Rate and +5 Movement Speed with the proper Foods, Elixirs, and Crystals.
    Food and Elixir Rotation's
    Pre Boss
    - PvE: Milk Tea > Margoria > Media
    - Small Scale PvP: Margoria > Media > Hamburg
    - Large Scale PvP: Margoria > Media >  Valencian
    Post Boss
    - PvE: Milk Tea > Margoria > Hamburg/Serendia
    - Small Scale PvP: Margoria > Hamburg > Serendia/Knights
    - Large Scale PvP: Margoria > Knights >  Valencian
    Elixirs
    - Solo Grinding: Splendid EXP > Endless Fury >  Sharp Detection
    - Group Grinding: Splendid EXP > Grim Soul Reaper's > Strong Draining > Endless Fury > Sharp Detection > Brutal Death
    - Siege/NodeWar: Grim Soul Reaper's > Strong Draining > Endless Fury > Sharp Detection > Brutal Death > Human Hunt > Steel Defense > Strong Life > Brutal Carnage > Lethal Assassin > Brutal Penetration > Advanced Concentration
Note: Only use [Party] versions of any of the Elixir's listed above.
    Situational
    - Soaring Wings Elix: Used to get to higher locations during Siege/NodeWar.
    - Perfume of Courage/Khalk's Elixir: Used during big pushes in Siege/NodeWar.
    - Enhancer: Cheap and very minor increases in magic/ranged/melee dmg and accuracy.
    Suggested Build Path
    Beginner Build
This is a budget build for players just getting into the game.  This should get you going up to level 56 without too many problems. This build also is great for players that aren't 100% sure they are going to main a tamer yet.  The Armor and Trinket are both done through quests while leveling up.  You will start with a green one and slowly throughout the questline get Blue/Yellow grade.  If you do not want to do this quest line, just get Heve Armor and an Incense Trinket.  Use cheap accessories until you are able to grind Media for the Asula's accessories.

Note: Replace the Luck crystals as you acquire more luck through the knowledge system.  First replace the chest ones with "Magic Crystal of Infinity - Evasion" then the helm ones with "Magic Crystal of Infinity - Agility".
    Skilled Build
This is a build you will be slowly working towards after finishing your Beginner Build.  You will have to replace most of your accessories but this should get you ready for end game content.  Upgrading your gear to yellow grade is done by using Ultimate Reform Stones, which can be bought on the marketplace for around 5-7.5mil. I do not suggest swapping over to Liverto because of how hard they are to sell on the market.  You should just save your mem frags and stones for a Kzarka.

    Professional Build
This build is targeted towards end game pvp and will allow you to be relevant in medium level guilds.  You want to focus on getting Bhegs and Muskan boss pieces first because they have the best effects.  Slowly work your way towards gettings Rednose/DimTree and Giath.  At this point in the game you should also pick up an alchemy stone which is commonly recharged using bloods, just don't forget to turn it off.  I also suggest picking up a Heve Armor instead of using your Questline chest, that way you get the extra HP and an extra set of gear to fail stack off of.  In boss pieces you will want to slot expensive crystals too, unless you are planning on dying a lot that is.  Just keep upgrading your accessories and you are well on your way to being a geared player.
    http://bdoplanner.com/save/[[3],[11046,17,[15021,15021]],[11047,17,[15136,15136]],[11016,18,[15211,15631]],[11015,18,[15630,15218]],[[12007,3],[12007,3]],[[11808,3],[11808,3]],[12230,2],[11607,2],[13210,18,[15201,15201]],[14742,18],[13009,18,[15132,-1]],[45216],[19001,[15652]],[19394],[22371],[22399],[19363]]
Note: If you are struggling to get boss armor don't worry, it will come in time as long as you keep doing your scrolls, world bosses, night vender, and bidding.  If stuck on gear, then just work on accessories.
    Artisan Build
This build is used by high end players that are wanted in larger guilds.  At this point the only thing you can do is go for TET armor, TRI yellow accessories, and a Resplendent Alchemy Stone.  There's not much else to say about this build other than "Welcome to Endgame!".  Just keep getting your gear up from here and push for 60/61/62 and soon you will be welcome in almost any siege guild. Also start farming out "Forest Fury" so that you can get JIN/BON/WON crystals.
    http://bdoplanner.com/save/[[3],[11013,18,[15624,15624]],[11017,18,[15136,15136]],[11016,18,[15211,15631]],[11015,18,[15630,15218]],[[12031,2],[12031,2]],[[11828,2],[11828,2]],[12230,2],[11607,2],[13210,19,[15201,15201]],[14742,19],[13009,19,[15132,-1]],[45216],[19001,[15652]],[19394],[22371],[22399],[19363]]
Note: Tree armor is one of the hardest boss armor pieces to get and many players will get Red Nose as a placeholder.  I suggest doing this if you are having trouble as TRI Red Nose Armor will still sell well.  Also note that while grinding you can break the chest crystals for a luck crystal and vise versa, since they are both so cheap.
    Master Build
This build is the final step towards getting to softcap.  This build features higher ap, accuracy, evasion, etc.  Basically we are left with a build that is very versatile for both large and small scale pvp.  Because of how this build is setup you can easily swap your Incense Trinket for a Kutum when grinding.  I personally suggest that everyone goes for this build first, then slowly builds on towards some of the other builds mentioned below.  Congratulations you are at soft cap. I hope to join you soon!

    Other Builds
    Siege/Evasion Build
This is build should only be used after the "Master" stage.  I do not suggest getting a rosar unless you can get at least 210 ap with it.  This build and the two below it are meant for true end game PvP.  Make sure to use the above builds while leveling and progressing through the game.  You will eventually hit a gear cap and around that time, builds like these will be of use to you.  Rosar with two Crit Damage crystals will do around the same damage as a Nouver, but with Rosar you also get a large chunk of Evasion which is great for Sieges.  This build has gotten weaker since the DP buff back in October of 2017, I wouldn't personally use it anymore.
    http://bdoplanner.com/save/[[3],[11013,19,[15801,15801]],[11017,19,[15804,15804]],[11016,19,[15810,15812]],[11015,19,[15807,15218]],[[12031,3],[12031,3]],[[11817,4],[11817,4]],[12230,3],[11625,3],[13210,19,[15201,15201]],[14742,19],[13037,19,[15627,15627]],[45220],[19001,[15652]],[19394],[22371],[22399],[19363]]
    Resistance Build
This build is meant for end game PvP against players of equal gear and skill in a small scale setting.  In 1v1's, 2v2's, and 3v3's the only thing that determines the favor of a fight are 4 things.  Burst damage, cc'ing, getting cc'd, and your team.  If you get cc'd in a 1v1 against someone equally geared you will die, but if you cc them, they will die.  This build is optimized to reduce as much cc as possible, while still maintaining a large amount of burst.  I suggest using this setup once the new small scale rbf style gamemode is released on your server.
    http://bdoplanner.com/save/[[3],[11013,19,[15222,15222]],[11017,19,[15207,15207]],[11016,19,[15640,15640]],[11015,19,[15807,15218]],[[12031,3],[12031,3]],[[11817,4],[11817,4]],[12230,3],[11726,3],[13210,19,[15201,15201]],[14742,19],[13038,19,[15132,15132]],[45220],[19001,[15652]],[19394],[22371],[22399],[19363]]
    CC Pen Build
Similar to the "Resistance Build" this build focuses on cc's above all else.  When paired with a good partner, this  build can be one of the strongest in the game.  You will play the roll as a cc cannon doing as many cc's as you can while avoiding them the best you can.  This is a very high team coordination build and should only be used with a very experienced team mate.  Otherwise the "Resistance Build" would be a better fit.  Keep in mind too that the White Coral Belt is one of the hardest belts in the game to craft and can easily be replaced by something like the Centaurs Belt or Basilisks Belt.

    - Post Awakening - Level 60 - 1500 SP: http://bddatabase.net/us/skillcalc/36196
Note:  When starting out you are mainly going to focus on leveling Summon Heilang, Bolt/Jolt Wave, Void Lightning, and Roaring.  Once you get awakening you drop points from Roaring and focus on Echo Pierce, Allaround Spinner, and Legendary Beasts Dance. Though all the awakening skills are great, those are the ones I would focus on first.
    Add-On's
This is my personal PvP/PvE add-on setup: https://gyazo.com/5deb8d840c8bbef717069278e2423915
Note: "Flash I" is used when grinding to never run out HP or MP, you should only need a few pots to defend your spot from other players.  This add-on can be replaced for something like "Void Lighting" for extra DP or "Scratch" for extra slows in PvP.  The +20 DMG against monsters that "Jolt Wave I" provides is amazing for grinding, but when "Allround Spinner I" is off cooldown it should be used for an even greater increase in AP.  The other add-on's are for PvP either giving evasion, accuracy or PvP dmg.  When starting out make sure to get "Jolt Wave I" first because of the Attack Speed and AP buff!  After awakening, get "Legendary Beast Dance" first because of the 20% Crit Increase!
    Grinding Rotations
    - Pre Awakening PvE Rotation Single Mob: Bolt/Jolt > Legendary Beast's Power > Bolt/Jolt
    - Pre Awakening PvE Rotation Small Group: Void Lightning > Single Mob Rotation
    - Pre Awakening PvE Rotation Large Group: Void Lighting >  Roaring > Single Mob Combo
Note: To maximize grinding efficiency bind "ww" to a single key on your keyboard, this will allow a quicker use of "Evasion".  Make sure to watch your stamina while doing this however so you don't run out.  Using "Legendary Beast's Power" between 3-4 "Evasions" is a good way to keep your stamina up.  Also, when getting low in HP/MP feel free to "Evasion" into "Scratch" then "Flash/Pole".
    - Post Awakening PvE Rotation Single Mob: Bolt/Jolt > Legendary Beast's Power > Bolt/Jolt > Echo Pierce
    - Post Awakening PvE Rotation Small Group: Void Lightning > Single Mob Rotation
    - Post Awakening Pve Rotation Large Group: Void Lightning > Bolt/Jolt > Legendary Beast's Power > Bolt/Jolt > Echo Peirce > Legendary "Turtle" Dance > Leaves Dropping > Flow: Gust > Allround Spinner
Note: To maximize grinding efficiency "Evasion" and "Legendary Beast's Power" to far away camps and use "Legendary Beast's Power" into "Moonlight Strike" for close camps.  If you ever feel yourself getting too low, you can either use "Evasion" into "Scratch" then "Flash/Pole" or use "Legendary Beast's Dance" into "Beast Rampage" depending on your current stance and or affected cooldowns.  "Beast Rampage" is also a great skill for cleaning up mobs or spamming on tanky ones that don't require frontal block.  Also try to use "Leaves Dropping > Flow: Gust" before every camp if in awakening form.
    PvP Combos
    - PvP Basic 1 : Leaves Dropping > Flow: Gust
    - PvP Basic 2: Void Lightning > Bolt/Jolt > Evasion
    - PvP Basic 3: Evasion (ww) > Legendary Beast's Power
    - PvP Basic 4: Cloud Stomping > Flow: Cloud Ride
Note: These are some of the most basic tamer combos, but that doesn't mean you don't use them a lot.  We can use "Basic 1" to start an engage to use the +16 AP buff or save it for the eyeframe mid fight.  "Basic 2" is used to create a semi-impenetrable cc barrier.  "Basic 3" is used to create an iframe dodge and close gaps while not in awakening stance.  "Basic 4" is used to either create a gap while in awakening form, or as an iframe to dodge all attacks, but never use it as an engage unless you animation cancel.
    - PvP Combo 1: Evasion > Spray Scratch > Bolt/Jolt > Soaring Kick > Bolt/Jolt > Echo Peirce > Bolt/Jolt > Echo Pierce > Allround Spinner
Note: Use "Evasion" as an iframe into "Spray Scratch" which should rigidity your opponent if off cooldown. This gives you enough time to "Bolt/Jolt" in order to animation cancel your "Spray Scratch" and go for a grab.  After a basic "Bolt/Jolt/Echo" combo, finish them off with "Allround Spinner". This combo is hard to get used to because of the animation cancels, but once you get the hang of it, it's quite strong.
    - PvP Combo 2: Legendary Beast's Power > Moonlight Strike >  Legendary "Vermillion" Dance > Allround Spinner
Note: Use this combo if the are having trouble catching your opponent with a "Spray Scratch". The gap close that is done with "Beast's Power" and "Moonlight Strike" is crazy. It will catch many people by surprise, and even if they see it coming, not much can be done at the speed you go.  You can even go farther by starting with "Basic 4" and animation canceling the landing with either an auto attack or "Moonlight Strike".
    - PvP Combo 3: Evasion > Void Lightning > Bolt/Jolt > Echo Peirce > Legendary "Vermilion" Dance > Allround Spinner
Note: Use this combo if fighting 3+ players during sieges or node wars.  By using evasion you will force yourself into a large group of players, while there use "Void Lightning" and animation cancel into awakening weapon through "Bolt/Jolt/Echo".  From there you hit as many players as you can with "Legendary Vermillion Dance" and "Allround Spinner". If there is anyone left finish them off with a different combo or run away with "Basic 4".
    Hidden Effects
    1. "Spray Scratch" will cause rigidity while off cooldown.
    2. "Cloud Stomping" acts as an iframe and can be canceled with an auto attack.
    3. The higher your movement speed the faster and better you will dodge using "Evasion" from iframes.
    4. You can animation cancel most skills in awakening mode with "Rain Curtain".
    5. "Bolt/Jolt" and "Legendary Beast's Power" can animation cancel most skills in non awakening mode.
    6. "Echo Peirce" and "Allround Spinner" will swap you directly into awakening mode if used on the skillbar.
    7. "Jolt/Bolt" will swap you directly into non awakening mode.
    8. "Moonlight Strike" and "Legendary Tiger Dance" can animation cancel "Flow: Cloud Ride".
    9. "Cloud Stomping" can be animation canceled with an auto attack.into any other skill.

  4. Post on MMO Gathering in Suggestions

    By Foghen, posted
    Hi there!

So I have this idea where gathering becomes a multiplayer option, where you team up with your mates and go gather some wood, timber, logs og what ever name you want to call it.

Starting with the concept: 2 player lumbering saw
What this will do is party leader will be wearing the saw in lef tool slot and use it on a tree then 2nd player in party will interact with the saw and there will be lumbering.
The saw will have a higher yield than axe and a faster gathering rate since 2 players work together
The saw will come in low durability white up to high durability yellow
    The will be craftable:
White Rarity 5 Ash Timber and 15 Copper Ingot,
Green Rarity 10 Ash Timber, 15 Bronze Ingot and 10 Black Stone Powder,
Blue Rarity 5 Maple Timber, 15 Steel and 20 Black Stone Powder,
Yellow Rarity 10 Maple Logs, 20 steel, 5 Pure Iron Crystal and 40 Black Stone Powder
Which will make it rather expensive and ofcourse you will need someone to work with
It will have twice the durability of a lumbering axe of the same rarity so white = 60 durability, Green = 120 durability, Blue = 260 durability and Yellow = 500 durability

I also see this possible with a fishing net but they would have combined effects of rods so there would be a net with combined effects of Balenos and Epheria rod so it had auto-fishing time and increased durability OR Mediah and Calpheon with higher chance of rare and big fish

  6. Post on Growing tree's in General

    By Hyperblast, posted
So i'm sitting here beating on tree's for an eternity just so I can get enough logs to make the epheria sailboat and I had a thought....what if we could grow our own tree's and get logs from them?  we would get a lot more growing our own than running around in the forests all day beating on all of the tree's just to get 1-2 logs at a time.
  7. Hey why isn't these rings in the game yet?! http://bddatabase.net/us/item/12125/
I'v been holding onto all the mats since altinova was released and they are just sitting in my warehouse collecting dust and I really want these rings!!! qq
  8. I'm pretty sure this was talked about in a post long ago but I was wondering, would it be a good idea to remove the "collect money" button from the bottom right of the screen and have the guild funds sent directly to players that still have a running contract so they wouldn't forget to get their payment?  I'm a guild leader of a new guild and I would like to have this so new players can receive some extra money every day in the mail on reset.
I also think there should be an option to hide all players in towns/cities and adjust it to make it hide every1 or hide every1 except for guildies and party members because....look at heidel...cant even run through it without having to go full potato.  You could still see the white squares of players running around on your mini-map, but cant see them on screen.
  9. So, I recently got a PC upgrade, and wanted to finally give this game a try. Looked really fun and interesting.
But, I've never honestly played a real MMO before. I'm sitting back, playing Runescape, only for the sake of friends.
and I've never really played anything else.
My question is this game honestly recommendable to someone who has little MMO experience.
I guess RuneScape is one, but I know people generally get toxic when talking about it.
If you know anything about it, I have 1860 total level and 127 combat on RS3
1400 total on oldschool with 94 combat.
Anyways, I'd love to get into a fresh new game and the gameplay just looked incredible.
Is it worth playing and abandoning RuneScape for sake of Fun, Reward, and overall, entertainment after
    all the grind?
  10. Hey folks,

Let's get right to it! BDO has lot's of content... Hiding somewhere behind lot's and lot's of boring NPC talk.  And everybody knows there is lore and story behind the setting of BDO but it just doesn't show, you have to actively search for it.
And as most of us will agree upon, long searching for the lore and story in an MMORPG-sandbox doesn't actually help players to bond with the world.  The motto of "The New World" is quiet cynical: "A world every player can call it's home" but what does that "home" mean, when you don't have a clue on what's going on in the world?  I value the efforts of the devs for updating this game in an insane fast way, I do, but they should focus on more than just new area's and awakenings...
The feeling I have amongst many other players is that you can do like a lot of things in BDO but there is no point in doing them unless you want to be the best crafter, do endless pvp, grinding mobs, have the best gear, reach way beyond your awakening.... A lot of those listed things you can do in other games, games that are too superficial.
I have some ideas/concepts that might make players bond more with the BDO world:
A lot of NPC's are too stationairy is one of the first problems I want to tackle. I know it is quiet demanding of pc's but please make NPC's do more than just wave or some emote, let them walk around, carry out their jobs, "talk to other NPC's. I know there are NPC's who already travel and do other "tasks" but not quiet enough. Look at skyrim, for example that maid at the forge, in the noon she was forgeing weapons, at another point in the day she was in her shop, at night in her bed,.... Or the witcher for example, with it's breathing world, NPC's do stuff, they have emotions  and interesting conversations with other NPC's,...A second improvement would be more and better cut-scenes, even for side quests. In the beginning of the game there should be more explanation about the black desert (I didn't know why this game was called black desert until the valencia update came out... And still it's a weird name but that's off topic). Cut-scenes help the players to understand why they must do there quests, what's going on in the world, what bad guys there are or wich wars there are spreading across the land. In side-quests it would be nice since some NPC's their stories will capture you and you know why you do that stuff, instead of reading every (boring) dialogue or book to get a grasp of what's going on. Cut-scenes would clarify why goblins are at a certain location and attacking those villages and cities, why you have a blackspirit folowing you what it's purpose is and if has a secret agenda or not, is that spirit evil or good for you who knows.... And yes there are people who will know the explanation for these questions, but frankly, as a player you shouldn't have to search for everything you want to know aka knowledge system...More and better dynamic events, look at Guild Wars 2 (and for some aspects to WoW and Diablo III) not the greatest game(s) in my opinion but what I did like about the game(s) is the fact that there were dynamic events on a massive scale. Not just some world bosses spawning twice a day or some whale ready to be hunted. But actually mobs attacking  villages, dosens of raids through high level area's, mob elite hunting parties on the road that "terrorize" the lands and you had to kill them to "free" the NPC's of the danger.MOST IMPORTANT: Tell a better story and make it more visible/highligted. Entice players in the BDO world to become the hero or villain what they want to be, help them to create their own story with unique expierences but try to maintain a red line in the story. The story should tell what the "black" desert is, the danger of the black spirits, where your class comes from, why your soul is linked with a black spirit, what goals you should try to achieve  (like killing a bad guys, evil mobs,...). The BDO devs will bring the players new domains/realms/area's but what is going on there, what is the story behind those new landmasse's, are there new bad guys (like sorcerers, necromancers, dragons) players need to kill to "complete" the story of those new area's? That being said, I hope the devs will notice this post and take their time to think about what's being said here. If they do, and they implement it in the game in a right way => then I am certain that players will bond more with the world; there will come a massive amount of new players to BDO because then there is finnaly an MMO who really differentiates itself from others by creating a gameworld where players can dive into and lose themselves, following a good story line instead of what other MMO's do ( => killing mobs = the entire game).

  12. Hallo zusammen.

  13. Hello to everyone on the BDO forums!
My name is Kyler. Im installing Black Desert Online as we speak and am 100% new to the game. I was aboard the hype train for this game leading up to launch, but took others negative feedback to heart and never even gave it a chance. Luckily, I watched a video on the game yesterday and the person speaking about the game made some really good points ( such as how BDO is its OWN experience and shouldnt be treated like other MMOS ) that really resonated with me. After all, some of my favorite MMOS were the older ones that required you to truly grind the game and put almost all your free time into it.
Here is some info on me and what im looking for in a guild
Im 22 years old ( for any age restricted guilds ) and currently living in Texas ( CST time zone ). Im fortunate enough to almost completely work from home and therefore am almost always online. I have been playing MMOs for about 12 years now. I have been going from game to game since WoW changed completely, only playing some for a few months at a time. I hope to find a long term home here in BDO.
I would really like to be apart of a pretty active guild that has members who are on daily. Im a pretty social person so a guild with a Discord/TS server is a must for me. I have been in both very serious PvP & PvE guilds and plan on getting into the end game PvP. I respect role players so it is not an issue if people in the guild RP
I hope to hear from some of you very soon! Thanks everyone.
  14. Just curious how much AP we need to be effective? I'm at 130ap/250 dp and I have a hard time killing people in pvp. I have the combos down. What are you guys running at for AP/DP and how are you getting your AP up? All my gear is DUO and using a DUO Yuria atm, working on a liverto.
  15. Post on Discussion about a shovel in General

    By Keiso, posted
Hello everyone, my name is Alfredo and my nickname is Keiso or ingame Keisosan, today i am in the desert in front of Sand Grain Bazar wearing my Gatherer's Clothes shoveling all this sand hoping to find some Black Crystal Shard because i'd like to enchant my Liverto Blade to PRI, hoping this twelfth try will be the successful one.
Suddenly i thought, why the shovel hasn't durability? why i can't craft any type of it? is a shovel so much harder to craft than a fishing rope? and why i need to bring in by backpack 200 shovels while i have to handle only one fishing rope? looks like these shovels are made of the cheapest material in here, indeed i pay only 5 silver each, and it only weighs 0.10 LT, around 50 silver for LT, sounds very very cheap.
Anyway i'm still here in the desert, i will ask the blacksmith if he can craft one or me for some reasonable price, goodbye hunters!

Recruiting players on Orwen North America!
Is this the guild for you?

<SoulOfTheDragon>, we've had experience with a variety of different MMOs, but currently we're influencing the enjoyment of Black Desert Online. A group full of friendly people with good attitudes. Some of the things we do are PvP, PvE, guild missions and bosses, node wars participation and more! We also use Slack, which is not required but highly recommended as an extra way to get the word out to people who are not able to be in game, as well as to plan and manage guild events.

    REQUIREMENTS:
To generally be an active, mature playerTeamspeak 3 (talking isn't required, just listening in)
If you're interested in joining or have any questions, the best way to get in contact with me is by messaging me here on the forums or sending me an e-mail frostxblood@gmail.com. You can also try and catch me in game on Mediah 01 (Khanee). Remember, we want quality, active, and dedicated members who we can trust.

  18. Greetings fellow gamers,
My name is Phinix, and I have been an avid gamer since I was spending hours playing qBert, tanks, and Spiderman on the Atari 2600 as a tot, to Oregon Trail and Carmen Sandiego in elementary computer lab, and I've been gaming and modding MMO's for over a decade. You can see some of my work for other titles here Phinix Master Recipe List (links to Skyrim mods at the bottom).
I am posting to let everyone that might see this know why I personally feel BDO is absolutely worth the minimal cost of entry.
Like many I was skeptical at first, which is understandable as like many I've been burned on over-hyped games in the past that ended up uninstalled within the first week of actual play. I was concerned that it would be an overly PVP-focused game where the bulk of content was devoted to encouraging too-often unfair player ganking and griefing with major guilds baring content to huge areas for the rest of the population. I could not be happier to have been proven wrong!
After exploring for myself what the game has to offer, I purchased the $49 version with the free mount and pet (I chose Hawk for my Tamer). I can say honestly I have absolutely ZERO buyer's remorse, and have enjoyed this outstanding title so much I made the purchase before my 7-day guest pass was even up (day 3).
Here's just a taste of what you can expect:
OUTSTANDING crafting, trade, and market system.OUTSTANDING free action combat system.AMAZING graphics and SUPERB attention to detail.BEAUTIFUL soundtrack that enriches the experience.Mini-games (fishing, farming, horse taming) that are a lot of fun.AWESOME dynamic mount system.AFK tasks to advance your character while you work, surf, etc.Intelligent PVP design that discourages negative PVP while promoting the positive. There is so much more I could say but I wanted to just touch on a few of the things I really enjoyed.
Practically everything you do advances your character in some way. Riding your horse around raises it's level and increases its stats (speed, health, etc.), and you can gradually learn skills which give it added functionality. You can tame horses as mounts. You can earn pack mule mounts from quests which give more storage and can be used to transport trade goods for profit. You can even buy or craft WAGONS of increasing size and quality for much more storage and the ability to attach two or even FOUR horses (and train them all at once).
The whole crafting system is integrated into the way the game walks you through all the various systems it has to offer. There is literally something for everyone, and while it may seem a bit daunting at first, STICK WITH IT! I almost gave up after everything wasn't immediately handed to me but let me tell you, YOU CAN TRUST THIS GAME. The people that designed BDO deserve some major awards for the level of detail and intelligence that weaves these systems together. I am a programmer and I can tell you I was personally very impressed.
The engine is also rock solid. No crashes, and the 64-bit client is so well optimized that you can easily run the game at absolute maximum settings with an i7 and a single NVIDIA GTX 780 card.
It is honestly difficult for me to think of many negatives. I guess the fact that there is so much to learn, but to me that is part of the reward, and the way it is built into the game reinforces this. There is always something new to discover, and the learning process is rewarding and FUN! Even the PVP system is designed not to impede the quality of life of non-PVP players, as there is not only no real incentive to player kill PVE players but a strong counter-incentive (Karma and gear loss) NOT to do it. Plus in my time playing I have seen as many guilds devoted to being "guardians" and defending the PVE players as I have organized PVP guilds.
Trust me when I say, if you enjoy MMO's, you will DEFINITELY enjoy BDO. Check the threads here and on Reddit giving away 7-day passes or ask around, and spend a week with it. If you truly give it a chance, and overcome your inherent MMO player instinct to give up at the first sign of a Google search needed, it may just turn out to be the best game you ever played.
You will find that this (Dulfy.net) site will help a TON with the early learning curve.
    Happy gaming!

  19. Hey so I finally got the time to try out Black Desert online. And so far I like with its pros and cons.
I have learned myself to accept the age and gender lock, no matter how much I disagree with it.

There are somethings I still wish that they will change in the very near future:
-Cash shop gear should not grant stats or perks. (I feel this should have stayed free-asian-mmos exclusive)
    - Gear form the Cash Shop should cost alot less. (I know they want to earn money, but imo the prices are too high, and the quantity of gear too low, bring it down 75-50%, and it is not that I cannot afford it, I just do not see the reason for the hight pricetag, let alone the justification for it.)
    - Make more flashy/cool looking gear available via the actually game, via crafting and high lvl drops. (As I just startede this haven't bothered me so much, but I know it will. Let us have cool gear in-game, let us have visible helments (we can turn it off anyway))
    - Pets, make them drop from bosses.

Okay these are my wishes. I know alot of people might disagree on this one, heck even the developers.
But I hope they at least consider this or respond to it, why they have made their decision as it is. The best games I have tried, had an active team that listen to their players. I know they might be forced into stuff that they didn't want to do.
Anyway the ideas about the cashshop is inspired by GuildWars2, which imo is one of the better cashshops. And they even got cool looking in-game armour (though they are few). So not like it isn't possible
Also Just saw the interview with PvTwiggle, I think they dodged the Q on the cashshop.. I think they should try a 50% sale, just for a few days, just to see how much they would earn, for more reasonable prices.

  20. ...so does anyone have a 7-day pass they could let me use? I'm thinking about putting down money on the game but I need to be sure.
  21. As we all have likely seen the lack of a player to player trading system does nothing to stop the gold spammers, that however is beside the point, the extensive trading system and the fact that this is a multiplayer game are both suffering with the lack of a trading system this game plays more like a single player game without one and a lot of people i know personally are getting quite irritated at that fact as we all play mmos so we can play together as opposed to play alone or against each other.

please allow for player to player trading, there are much better ways to deal with gold spammers then punishing every player for the transgressions of the few all you really have to do is have a chat filter that searches for certain words or phrases in chat. if it picks up on a non gold spammer all they need to do is dispute the mute but the point is having an auto mute feature for those who use particular words and or phrases isn't a bad thing, Hell if you want to take it to the extream block the posting of websites like have it scour for W W W. insert generic gold website here and have it instantly mute them.
the trade and the community in this game will get so much better and it would certainly give you more of an incentive to role play as a particular profession as opposed to just being the creepy person who sits in their house all day doing god knows what while making then next cask of beer for your workers.

anyway sorry for the structuring and the possible grammatical errors i really just wanted to get some points across.
  22. All my friends have been on this topic and many have left due to this. The game does not feel like its multiplayer. The sandbox aspect needs some very minor changes that will make all the difference. We need player to player trading so we can help each other on projects. We need to be able to share craft stations in each others houses (party members) or theres no reason to visit one anothers house. We need to be able to share inventory spaces on our wagons, ships, horses, etc for when we are out farming as friends. Would be nice to share a horse or have others ride on wagon. I heard two people on a horse was a skill later learned so thats nice. Anyhoo... soo
These things are really basic staples of any mmo and do not need to be recreated in some new way. These things we need in order to feel like our friends are in this with us other than grinding mobs or pvp.
I want to be working on a project and be able to tell some friends im short on some wood and have them ride out with a wagon to chop some down. Load it all on one wagon or horse and bring to my house then all friends unload it and start breaking it down or loading the stations while others go to fetch other things. Its silly every player must make their own things and theres no sharing or contributing to one anothers goals. Archeage did many things wrong but the feeling of a group of players all pitching in to make a warship or guild house was something truly fun. Solo goals drive a wedge between your friends you came to play with. Ive no reason what so ever to adventure with my girl in this game. And when she says i just need "blank" and im all "Oh i have some of those come get em...." Oh i forgot i cannot help you with anything. Get it yourself and im going back to what i was doing all alone." Sad game.
  23. Post on NextGEN MMO in General

    By Dagi, posted
Ok, what does this game give to players what we have not yet seen? I see it is in the end as same as any other MMO theme park out there. Take quest, kill monsters, kill animals and spam keys. Now in new features that you don't need to run as its botted for you. Animations are very Asian, in fact they are so Asian that you can't see anything as basic attacks are over 9000!
So what's the thing here? I would say this game goes free to play in 6 months but as yes, its already free to pay.. play.
  24. Hello,
So I understand the servers for NA and the like are hosted on European servers and as such, I've read the list of restricted servers. This might be a long shot but I would really love it if the international version of the game was supported for those of us living in south america. Most MMOs tend to support our countries and there are a lot of faithful gamers who I am sure would love to invest in a title like this if allowed to do so, we just need the possibilty to be open.

Again, I am not sure how hard it is to realize this but i figured I would make the post anyway. Feel free to comment with suggestions or feedback, please be constructive
