  1. Why can't I let party members steer my Epheria Sail Boat whilst I am aboard?
I'd like to be able to use my own canons and crows nest while a friend captains my ship.
I know its because of the damages they could cause, but I should have the option still
  2. Where can i get Red Coral at? i cant find it is there a good spot to find it? http://bddatabase.net/us/item/4476/
  3. Post on Sea Monster Questions in General

    By Ilyiandra, posted
So does anyone know anything about the sea monsters. Been sailing around on my ship and saw a bunch of different sea monsters but was WAY too -----ing scared to attack them.

Can anyone give me a list of easiest to hardest sea monsters with their names and possibly pictures of them?
  4. Can you repair the life span on the Epheria Sailboat?
  5. Hey guys, great game you have there and id like to ask why has it been a year since the games release yet we still cant play it in south east asia?
i would understand if the game had anti religion themes of some sort but it does not have that and it does not have anything that would really offend anyone here
which really begs the question why is there no south east asia release yet?
  6. Ok so something has been bugging me about the Magoria naval introduction. Now let me start by saying I love Magoria and the open sea, its gorgeous and fun to become that famous pirate that NPC's will sing songs about in the local taverns however for solo players there isn't much incentive to go out into the open waters. I have my sailboat and have been experimenting killing sea monsters, pirate ships and in return you get Guild drops worth a decent amount of profit for your guild but on a solo perspective the player doing all the work doesn't get any noticeable reward in return. I am losing interest in traveling out to sea because I cant make any silver from it. So may I suggest that you either remove the guild only sale for these items or at least give us a drop that can be sold for personal profit and make it worth the players time and effort....after all this sea monsters are not easily beaten. Keep up the good work and look forward to hearing your thoughts on this matter. <(^_^)>
  7. Origin of wind and cannonballs are not being produced at the qty stated in tooltip , pls see this thread http://forum.blackdesertonline.com/index.php?/topic/130211-origin-of-wind-bug/
  8. Hey-lo!

    Sammle Corallen!
    Tauche!
    Erkunde!

  9. EDIT: DONT ANSWER WE SWAM TO NEW PORT THANKS

Added note on distance bonus varying in the same sea area (nearest node to fished location to trader).28 January 2017 - Removed trash listings as they appear the same across sea areas (Fish Bones, Seaweed. Generally Sandeel appears part of trash table also from recent fishing data). Added note on Port Ratt town being trash only. Confirmed Beluga Whale (removed Bottlenose Dolphin) and Cuttlefish for Vadabim Sea - Orange zone harpoon species. Removed Provisional tag as (I have sample checked all sea areas for fishing and harpoon species. Possibly some more lower quality species to add over time.2 February 2017 - Added Squid and Surfperch to Margoria - Yellow zone - West.06 December 2017 - The Gold Key item has been added to some fish tables in the 29 Nov 2017 Patch Notes (no note for this) notably in Margoria ocean areas, Velia Hotspot, Grana city & Lake Flonder in Kamasylvia. it is not known if this is a permanent change as it is impacting relic drop rate in these areas. When this is confirmed then the guide will be updated.13 April 2018 - The Laila's Petal blue quality item has been added as a low drop rate chance to all regions, both freshwater and sal-----er. The item is used for the new Fairy pet.Introduction
The Margoria Expansion (Ocean) is being launched on the 25 January 2017 in the EU/NA region. Introduced on 21 July 2016 in Korea, the expansion brings a range of new content, including new seas in the wider ocean and also new fish species.
The list here is taken from various sources posted to Korean forums (many thanks to 중2병소환사입니다 - 2 bottles of a Summoner plus the other KR fishers). The lists were translated from the Korean and cross-checked individually with the new fish species now in the data files of the EU/NA version. The fish table for Ross Sea has been confirmed already personally, as we are able to fish it already (over the barrier).
The new sea area fish tables include most of these new species plus existing species (only yellow quality fish added). Also species in the data files but not in-game until this launch ( for example Sturgeon, which will be a harpoon species).
For other water areas check out:
BDO - Ocean Fish Species List
BDO - Freshwater Fish Species List

    Important Note
Being based on details from the Korean version of the game, these details are provisional and may change. From test fishing so far, the details have matched the list with some lower quality species to add; possibly some change to harpoon but will update as these are covered. Generally it is accurate for the EU/NA region.
There is some detail missing (mainly in incomplete green and white species listing). It is unlikely that there will be any change to the EU/NA regional version, however, there is no way to be certain until launch that these fish tables are the same. As I fish these new sea areas any changes will be noted here and missing species added.
    Map & Key
New sea areas (N to S) and fish tables taken from this MAP (also attached to this post).

Where possible they are indicated below. No confirmation whether there are any fish spawns in the new ocean area or not.The sea areas are marked only approximately and will vary in the ocean, changing on the mini-map and text when crossing boundaries.Sea Origin nodes work differently from current seas. There are not islands for nodes but multiple ones in each sea. See notes below for more details. For updated maps showing all sea nodes, island nodes (new sea regions and species to be added) check out Fam's BDO Map Site.General notes are included below the Fish List for further detail and information. ---
    General Notes
Luvar (f) and Giant Squid (h) available in all open water ocean areas (like existing Coelacanth (f) and Sperm whale (h)).Bahaba species appears not to be included. It appears that trash can be caught even in deep water, unlike current oceans.Generally, it appears that the proportion of high value species is higher than in current sea areas (TBC but is this way in Ross Sea). There is evidence from Ross Sea fishing that the drop rate of Ancient Relic Crystal Shards and Silver Keys is also higher. This is likely to be the case across the entire new ocean which perhaps reflects previous comments about better quality fishing the further north the fisher travels. However this remains to be confirmed for actual fishing data in the new areas. Each new sea area contains multiple nodes to discover. It is not clear yet whether all nodes are require discovery for the sea Origin to connect correctly to the trader node, or just the node actually being fished in that sea. It looks like you need at least a cleared (no fog) discovery of nodes from fishing location to Port Ratt or Lema Island (as these two are auto linked when Port Ratt is discovered) to make the required link. The fish tooltip now includes some detail of how to correctly connect nodes for trading fish caught in the new ocean area:※ If you want to sell fishes caught in the ocean for fair prices, you must connect the nodes between Lema Island and your point of sale. You also need to discover the areas near the fish’s origin. The new sea area nodes do not require CP investment, just discovery. There are three islands that require 5 CP in total to connect to Port Ratt. See Fam's BDO map site for details. It's confirmed now that the distance bonus for trading will vary depending on the nearest node the fish was caught. So fish with the same Origin sea area, may vary in bonus depending if they were caught in the same location of multiple locations/ nodes. Most likely it is a direct distance from node > Trader.Sea area closest to Haso continent, in the small grey area possibly in between it and the land is green species table only. Port Ratt safe zone itself is only a Default Trash Tables (Fish Bone, Seaweed, Sandeel) and very slow fishing time. Do not fish in Port Ratt for this reason, or the Vadabin - Grey zone either. The new sea areas contain the fish required for the new Fishing weekly quests (vary depending on Fishing skill level) given by the new NPC, Katio the sea otter on Nada Island (see link for fishing quests available, rewards, completion conditions and requirements). Check the list for the required species. Some may be caught in existing waters or more than one sea. Each weekly quest contains at least one harpoon species so some harpoon fishing will be required. They require a level 56 character with the required skill level
Why fish the Margoria sea areas?
The main reason to fish the new sea areas is for the higher quality fish tables. Compared to existing seas, they all have three yellow quality species (only one in most current seas) meaning a higher percentage of these fish which results in more EXP gain (fish quality dictates Fishing EXP) and silver income. There is also evidence from fishing already in the Ross Sea that the fishing time is much faster being on average 15 seconds compared to a general average of 25 seconds which is very noticeable. For active fishing this means much faster filling of the inventory and quicker EXP gain over time. Even for passive fishing it speeds up the cast > bite element. One of the main reason fishers venture out further in Korea is to obtain the maximum 150% distance bonus for trading fish caught. There is compelling evidence from Ross Sea fishing data that there is generally a higher relic shard and silver key drop rate, which also increases income over current water. Finally, there are the new fish species, both fishing and harpoon, for the Fish Guide and knowledge entries.Balance this better fishing with the increased travel time and potential dangers of Sea Monster attack, potentially PvP (no karma loss at sea as in the desert) and random Ghost Ship attacks (at night). The developers have given quite some thought to the risk/ reward balance.

  12. So I've been fishing in Velia on the net at the shore. And sometimes I'm catching complete garbage. Like 2 blue fishes and a couple of greens in an hour. Other times I'm getting blue/yellow/greens like keys and ancients continuously. Could any one tell me if I'm doing something wrong or am I not standing at the right spot to get those good fishes over again?
And secondly is there any upside to take a fishing boat and go into the sea? I like active fishing so would I get more silver if I took my boat and went to somewhere else?
    thanks!
  13. Hello BDO development team, I'm sure this has been brought up before but I thought I'd reintroduce it, as I've been traveling a lot by sea and this has become a frequent problem.
When I travel using autopath on my boat I find that it hugs a lot of the islands and likes to create a stair pattern in the line of travel. Meaning I turn left, move 2 feet, turn right, move 2 feet, turn left.. you get the point. This has caused me to get stuck on multiple occasions as well. I've went ahead and attached two photos showing this. So that's it, just wanted to make sure you're aware of that because traveling in the ocean is dreadfully slow enough as I'm sure we're all aware and this will not only cut out some time but also ensure that we don't get stuck. Thank you for being great BDO!
P.S. My boat looks like its traveling unwater 80% of the time btw. Might be something with the graphics. I run a GTX 1080 MSI graphics card and all the settings on very high but I've tested various settings and none made any difference. Hope this was helpful, thanks again!

  14. Hello,

As the title says, the autopathing function at sea should really get some improvements. Some of the issues here are that you crash into these big rock/mini islands and the zagzagging is just really awfull...
With the coming of new ships in later content, you want ppl to explore the ocean, travel for trade etc, but with the current autopath it's just a pain...
  15. VIEW THIS GUIDE ON OUR WEBSITE FOR UP-TO-DATE VERSIONS

On the 12th of October 2016, an Ocean content patch was added to the NA/EU BDO servers. This guide indicates exactly what has been added so far and what more is to come in the future.

<FULL KOREAN OCEAN TRAILER AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS GUIDE>

Unfortunely, we don’t know when all the ocean content will be released. At the moment, undersea gathering and treasure is not available on the NA/EU version. We do have some important changes though:
You can no longer drown and will instead rise to the surface when the breath guage is emptyIf you run out of stamina (5/100 stamina) you will have a movement speed debuffThe breath guage time has been increased from 30 seconds to 60 secondsYou can now interact with NPC/objects whilst swimming or diving (NPC/objects have not yet been added)Navigation profession has been added to the rankings list but does not seem to level up at the moment and doesn’t appear in the character profile window

If you are going to venture into the deep, I would advise buying Elixir of Seal, this elixir will allow you to breathe underwater for 60 seconds. Movement speed also effects how fast you swim underwater, so using food and/or elixirs you can easily speed up your swimming. The Meat Sandwich is a good choice because it has movment speed +1 and max stamina +100, allowing you to swim for longer as well. Combined with Elixir of Swiftness, there will be a noticeable difference in your swimming speed.
The Splat Fisher’s costume will increase your swimming speed and reduce stamina consumption when swimming. The costume can be very convient but is not required to enjoy the new ocean content.

  16. The naval update trailer got me really hyped because of new ships. Unfortunetly while reading some articles about it I came across an info that they will be available for guilds. Hence my questions.

Are there any detailed informations about the crafting process right now?
If there are( I tried to google it but I don't know korean and english sites diddn't offer much) I'd like to know if being a part of guild will be required to get new ships or if there are some other types available for solo players.
i'm a type of player who likes to craft all sort of things for himself (Guild requirement for elephants already pissed me off).
Being stuck with a fishing boat would be awfull.

Anyway. It's still a long time before it comes to us but if possible I'd love to start collecting resources as fast as possible

If you want share your thoughts about the topic or/and any usefull info you will get.
    Maybe gms know something too

  17. Hello everyone, I'm Italian, so sorry for any error or irregularity...

This suggestion is for Navigation, Sea and Boat.

It could be nice to have the ROUTES "AUTOMATIC" or "Secure" obviously necessary, maybe more slow or debuff; but coming out of them, collide with sometimes difficult sea and waves conditions (example heavy sea, storms whit big waves, dead calm areas with no wind, island difficult to reach because very rough sea).

All this, by implementing the "Variable WIND".
Create a system to be able to exploits his, to navigate more faster or more slow.

And, finally, the possibility of new boats, Galleons, etc, be able to modify to improve appearance, most cargo shipping skill, most fishing skill or to improve combat skills; with the possibility to recruit NPCs as crew.

Inspirated for example to "Assassin's creed black flag" (sorry if I mention another game).
I think would be nice to see the sea beautiful, as is the terrain.

You already have plans to do something like that?
  18. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one with this bug...or something even though I've never heard or seen anyone having this problem, whenever I travel to or travel back from a fishing hotspot, the one near Velia to be exact, I would always get disconnected, and when I come back, all the channels wouldn't say crowded like it's supposed to be usually and I would continue my journey :\\\ but it happens everytime I travel to or from my fishing trip and this is really annoying, are there any ways to fix this and are there people who is having this problem aswell?

I'm also sure that it's not my internet's problem because why would I only disconnect at that EXACT area every single time I travel to it? I tried avoiding but still....there's something here....like w0t m8
  19. I would love to see a Fishing boat that is actually a true Fishing Vessel. Perhaps one with a Live well that can keep fish fresher so that we can stay out at sea for a long time, concentrating on only keeping yellow/gold quality fish without worrying about the first ones from the trip losing value. Perhaps a larger deck on the ship for group fishing? The upgrades/parts could be an extra live well tank, as well as the normal prow, and decoration. On such a craft a lantern like that of the Wagons would be very nice. I hope the devs and you fellow fishermen/women like my idea! Thanks for reading and happy catching!
  20. Hi, there is a problem on Alustin (EU) when taking a raft. I'm just disconnected from the game when swimming through a specific place. Sometimes I'm freezed when I'm relogging.

  22. Hi Guys,

I thought it would be awesome for more expansion of the map North of Veila with Larger islands and cities so there would be more exploration of the sea available, These cities could have houses with tier 3,4 for ship building so you can build larger ships faster to make the traveling easier, these ships would need more durability so traveling around the map wont kill the durability of the boat in one trip around.

This would make more fishing spots and more availability for players with boats to get abundant sources for fish etc.

It would allow more high level quests and mobs for higher leveled players.
Just thought i would post to see what people would say.
Let me know what you guys think.

  23. Post on Oceania servers in General

    By JynxKnight, posted
I read some time ago that yous where thinking about making a server for the Oceania player on bdo and was just wondering whats happening with that?
  24. I think there should be more content out into sea. Expected hunting walls and fishing there isn't much to do. I would imagine something like quests where you have to go hunt pirates with your friends and rifles. And maybe adding bigger boats where you will need more than 1 player to navigate it.
Adding a boat pvp flag. When you activate it you can fight other flaged boat and shout them with rifles. Maybe even canons.
I just feel that the game could be so much intersting and entertaining if there was more content out in sea. This will improve the game so much.
  25. Little something I caught during Harpooning thought I'd share!
