Changing Punishment of PvP / Guildwars

Hey,

i'll get straight to the point:

Following Scenario:

1.

Everybody knows the situation when you farm sausans and are dominating the mainspot. Suddenly a wild random player appears and steals your mobs... its really effective.

You get mad and tell him to go away but he doesn't listen. So you PK him. Because he gets no penalty he just keeps coming back until you are red.

2.

You piss someone of for whatever reason so he declares war with your guild. BUT because (At least in EU) the fee to declare war is 150k silver he never stops this war and keeps hunting you and your guildmates. FOREVER! and ever... and ever...and ever.... and ever...

My suggestions to fix this are:

Scenario 1:

Include a cooldown penalty for dying from PK. e.g.

1st death: 5 sec. cooldown

2nd death: 10 sec. cooldown

3rd death: 30 sec. cooldown

4th death: 5 min cooldown.

OR

lose 1% XP by spawning on nearby node or spawn in town without losing XP.

Scenario 2:

Include a subscribtion e.g

1kk per Day/Week.

yes this! Or just don't give them the option to respawn at a node. Town only.

Or we could just have the ever-escalating guild cost of having a war dec on, like in other regions if I recall.

1.

Everybody knows the situation when you farm sausans and are dominating the mainspot. Suddenly a wild random player appears and steals your mobs... its really effective.

The issue I have with this scenario is this:

1. A random player can enter someone's rotation and never once see that person on their map. Coming up to a person who never even saw you and telling them to leave is not going to be very effective. PKing them will most likely make them want to annoy the shit out of you.

2. A random player entering the field and being PK'd on the spot without notice.

The above scenarios are just as likely and it isn't the random player's fault in the slightest. Perhaps learn better communication or maybe make a new friend. If that doesn't work, you have the option to PK them or move channels.

I like your solutions however. I would say:
1st death: 10 sec cooldown
2nd death: 30 sec cooldown
3rd death: 40 sec cooldown and spawn in city
4th death: 1% xp loss and 1min cooldown
5th death or more: 1% xp loss, random crystal loss, 3min cooldown

I think it's fine just the way it is.  Nothing needs to be changed.

I dont think it's fine. We have this bizarre open world PvP system, where only guild-less players, players in top 10 zerg guilds and players in pure PvE guilds, can grind, make money, level and and quest freely.

Eventually there wont be any "normal" guilds left, if this keeps up, because penalized from both directions. If you're not abusing the "not ready for war" mechanics atm you get declared and zerged to ashes by a handful of top guilds, the very second a guild member refuses to leave a better grind spot. Wars that can go on for days and weeks, until your casual PvX guild is forced to leave the channel.

That's cool and all, survival of the fittest I guess. But harder to swallow when the guy next to you that's guildless or in some fishing guild, is untouchable and can grind, KS and do whatever he wants, without any worries of PvP or getting PK'ed. It's not a balanced system. It forces players to either join top guilds for secure spots or be in pure PvE guilds, to be protected from the very same top guilds and essentially immune to PvP.

karma bombing is only an issue right now because Valencia is worthless to grind for EXP/silver.  The Mediah spots are insanely congested and people are getting frustrated and acting like asshats.  Valencia needs to be worthwhile (buff trash drops and XP) so super geared people go to the 'end-game' area and the plebs can farm Mediah spots.   top-tier players shouldn't be grinding at the same spot they were before the last big content update.

I like your idea for scenario 2 though

3. Remove that PVE guild protection against wars. Reset the PVP lock at lv 50.

Don't want to PVP? Stay below 50. Want to level and grind in Mediah and beyond? Learn to protect yourself.

Edit: I believe respawn at node should always have a CD (atleast for PVP death). For example 5 minutes. No instant rushing back to karma bomb.

What a great thing to propose! The developers and the publishers would love to encourage people to halt any chance of getting their character through the world that is Black Desert Online. ''Learn to protect yourself'' against people that have V Kzarka + the best armor/accessories in game and just bully those who don't? I don't think so. What about people that are pk'd whilst doing afk stuff like weight training/leveling horses etc? Perfect for them to have to suffer a 5 minute cooldown upon their 5th death.

Spoken like a real coward. Those V Kzarka etc people don't bother you 99% of the time. Instead of running into the best grind spots with crap gear, use your brain and find another spot. You'll quickly find that there are many spots with almost as good exp and drops as those "top spots" with almost no pk issues.

Playing from the start I've seen my guildies get slaughtered at Sausans and whine about it (back when there was still exp loss) while others leveled up way faster than them without any pk - simply by grinding elsewhere. I've also seen imbeciles getting spawn camped to hell becasue they refused to leave an area where our guild was doing its subjugation quest. I've leveled to 55 with a mere 10 pk deaths months ago and thats including at Sausans. Most of those pk where after being asked to leave at least once and simply refusing to do so.

In my experience 90% of pk is caused by the "victims" acting like idiots or because they went looking for trouble.

The actual problem are the stuborn people. I've often had the mainspot and farmet sausons with my guild. Then someone appears who just starts destroying our route and even after telling him to go away because its taken and he is way too slow he starts PK'in us. (We weren't really experienced in PvP at that time) He kept the spot for himself even if he was slower and couldnt kill them fast enough.

This happened with the same person everytime... (Even if you switch channels he kinda is everywhere) so someone decided to make him red by respawning everytime and get killed by him.

By the time they decide to do something about that quest, I will be out of character slots that are below 50.

A cooldown for respawn at node after PvP death (maybe after 2-3 deaths? How many kills do you get from full karma until you are red? Whatever that number is -1) would probably work.

Don't want Sausan KS? Go to other spot or channel.

Like someone say Valencia is broken... soo you need spare spot with other ppl... if he/she KS mob take he/she to party... not ONLY you wanna farm on sausan.

Again, what you have said is from your own experience and therefore, is not an objective right to assert what you deem PvP to be. Those with V Kzarka are the very people that are almost guaranteed to get loot from world bosses and thus, exponentially increasing the gear/weapon gap that is ever so present in the game. There obviously is a problem with PK issues which is why we're talking about the topic right now.

PS: No need to throw personal insults just to bolster your arguments, a common understanding of courtesy and manners will do.

UGH! Another one of THESE threads!

Just leave it alone, it's fine!

Or, maybe, because these threads keep popping up people don't think it's fine the way it is?

I mean was that a valid response to people asking for the xp penalty to be removed?
Is that a valid response to people asking for pvp level and xp unlock quest parity?
Is it a valid response to people complaining about lag and DC?

You need 6-8 kills to get red.

You can't deck on individuals or guilds less than 10 or guilds that have never decked on other guilds.  Built in griefing.  I am leaning more to making these areas like node wars.  No penalties and everyone is red.

PvP should be enabled for everyone outside safe zones, and there should be a lot more guards in every city and node, and also have friendly fire always on.
