We all should know it comes down to money. The business model for MMOs seems to be following this trend. Release a game either B2P or P2P with as much hype as possible and get as many people to buy the game and or pay a sub for no more than a year. At this point you introduce a f2p model and or take away the sub requirement and add in a cash shop for the remaining players. Its pretty shitty that we are being constantly lied to and we are just throwing money to these companies. P2W vs anti P2W shouldnt be about who has or doesnt have a job. It should be about creating a good damn MMO since -----ing forever now.

The only thing that come to mind when looking at certain things that were done, planned or being executed is "monetizing the playerbase" and aggressively at that.

if the cash shop wasn't so expensive it would be no problem. But we still don't know the exchange rate of pearl to silver. It might be low or high at the start and might take a while to stabilise.

In my opinion the fact that its happening so soon is a red flag regardless of what happens next. BDO is not the game everyone thought it would be. I spend most the time AFK and its this fact that makes it so much worse. I will be prone to caving in and buying cash shop items to sell to be able to buy top gear one day sitting at the computer. Its this that in my opinion takes away from the overall gameplay of the game itself. Where you can technically buy sell buy the best gear without ever hitting a mob. All for the sake of a company making more money.

Everyone pins Their hopes on the next game that looks cool.  

BDO is a better game than many.  It has elements that do not appeal to all and elements that burn people out quickly.  The game is very diverse. The whole game is end game.  So many pvp people came and left without experiencing much of the game.  

This was never going to be pure pvp game with huge gvg wars goingredients daily or hourly.  

BDO got a lot of things right. Not everything.

This is a problem that is recurring, at launch it seems like games are doing everything right. Then they start making horrible choices throughout. Just think about how many MMOs you played before BDO and how long you played them.

The issue is that player priorities do not always line up with the games priorities. 

Most games have a very short lifespan of with large numbers of players.

BDO got a lot of things right. Not everything.

Do you really play BDO? Because there is end game - PvP after level 45, node wars, sieges. The problem is there is no PvE endgame - zero cooperative bosses, mobs or in fact any PvE multiplayer activity. If you do not PvP, you play solo, even if you are in party, because the game is so easy, there is no need of any cooperation among the players.
