Best place to fish relics?

It use to be Tarif, but since last Wed's patch that doesn't seem to be the case anymore, someone else suggested Heidel, but been there all day and just got 1.

I was hoping someone may have found somewhere else, where you can get like 3-4 overnight or 2 at a push

Cheers

It really is random, I use a +8 epheria rod at Artisan fishing, some nights I get 1 some nights I get 9.  The only place I consistently did well was Valencia when it was a T1 node for me, I theorize it may have to do with the desert bonus.  I fished there for 4 days and did well every single time, but I haven't been back out there since and it could of just been a lucky few days.  Oddly I actually started catching less once I started putting points in the node.

For reference my Velia and Heidel are at lvl 8 and my Calpheon and Altinova are at lvl 9 and doesn't seem to be a difference.

I just tried Keplan because it's close to the giants for my scroll quest, but I only got 2 overnight. I may just head back to the ocean.

Of course, as Ironjaw said, it's all RNG and tomorrow I could get 8.

Node level definitely has an effect on fish from what I can tell, although even then some nights after throwing out junk (which throws out white fish) I will come back to a bag with 30 fish/shards and other times I come back to 70 fish/shards.  note: My +8 rod usually lasts about 9 hours which works out perfectly for fishing while sleeping or at work.

Find a abundant spot, wear the fist costume, and outfit and have the penguin, before you know it youll be a fish.

Don't fish relics it's a waste of time. Wait til wednesday, buy some costumes, sell them for silver and use the silver to buy relics from the market.

Thats stupid, the market will be empty.

Actually while this is a troll post if you are going to do that its not a cost effective use of the silver for memory fragments

Also, somehow someway you and your peers are becoming a cancer now. This thread is completely unrelated to your QQ train, answer the question with logic of the game not some QQing statement.

He didnt ask about how to buy from the market, no he asked how to get it via location fishing.

The only places I haven't gotten relics fishing are from places that dont have fish.  There are some bodies of water you can fish in that only give junk.  Like the muddy hole in Altinova and the Oasis, although I swear I was catching sand eels out of the oasis originally.  I believe there is a moat that only gives junk as well.

I used to like catching salmon out of the moat in calpheon though before they fixed the fish localization hah

The drop rate for Ancient Crystal Relic Shards appears to be around 3%. They appear to be part of a separate loot roll together with Silver Keys.

Given the low drop rate it is possible to get wide variance in small catch samples like overnight AFK. It can 'feel' like a specific spots drops more but generally it will even out over time. The main consideration is the other catch which can provide a decent amount of silver or specific fish for quests etc. Also for many, convenience being say in the middle of Heidel being a main hub and also in a safe zone, as is the Velia beach static hot spot (the only remaining one for fishing now).

They can be found at a similar rate in all open water both freshwater and saltwalter areas, except a few locations which appear to have a 'Default fish table' which consists of Fish Bones, Seaweed and occasionally Sandeel which are ocean trash items but still drop inland also, even in the middle of the desert. There are also even fewer areas where it is not possible to fish at all.

If you want to protest p2w, by all means, give feedback to the company, make topics and reply to those topics.  Derailing someone elses legitimate topic for your agenda is childish and does more to hurt your 'cause' as now you're coming off as hellbent on ruining the game and forums for everyone else, no matter what.  The OP did not piss in your cornflakes, there was no need for this.

Around that yes, based on a lot of catches across all waters.

I haven't tallied the Velia beach hot spot recently but last time from 300 caught with breakdown of percentage;

Catch rates from the three sessions
Moray 50
Grunt 34
Sea Eel 66
Herring 53
Beltfish 07
Mackerel 08
Mudskipper 06
Rock Hind 15
Sandeel 06
Sandfish 09
Ancient Relic Crystal Shard 08
Silver Key 15
Fish Bones 13
Seaweed 10

Total = 300

Quality Breakdown:
Gold 28%
Blue 40%
Green 5%
White 12%
Silver Key 5%
Relic Shard 3%
Trash 7%

None of the items mentioned make any difference to the catch other than the time it takes. Fishing Rank only speeds up the process. The fish tables are fixed with the relic shards and silver keys sharing a separate roll each time.

The example above is only indicative but does reflect the average over lot larger sample data and time sicne the fishing change, if it even changed at all which it probably didn't for relic shards.

As with anything RNG related it's quite possible to catch none or 12 in the same time period. The average is in the range you mention although you don't provide total catch to compare the numbers provided.

The percentage is not certain and could be within say 1-2 % either way but it gives a reasonable assessment of the chance as it currently stands.

Nothing odd really as it is not a fixed % but an average, so anything is possible from zero to whatever.

Time spent fishing only matters in that the more you catch the more chance to get relic shards a fisher will have.

Have a look at the total catch, which needs to include trash to reflect actual catch numbers (trash clicked on will auto delete trash and white fish). Then compare the percentage of shards over a number of nights and compare again is the best way to get some more reliable idea.

Compare also the number of Silver keys in the catch as it shares (probably) the same separate roll as the relic shards.

The larger the data sample the more accurate it will be.

I get between 3 and 10 shards a day fishing at Velia hotspot. I get enough silver to buy one or two on top. Good enough for me.

Get 5 luck when you fish, fish somewhere abundant.

Shards seem to have fairly static drop rates and it's all RNG.

It's random. I get 4 or so per nap at Keplan. That's only like three times or so, I don't do much AFK stuff besides leaving it on so my minions can mine. ;)

answer the question with logic of the game not some QQing statement.

the whole point of RNG is to remove logic and experience and skill from the game

I got 3 of them in 1 hour from the pond up in the moutains west of Serendia-Shrine with zero Energy investment in the node = No logic, No skill, no experience

Luck has no bearing on the fish you catch when Fishing.

Fishing only with Abundant resources is important as you say as it speeds up fishing so more fish over a given period. If the period is overnight and bags get filled it is less important.

OP asked about shards not fish.

Luck has an impact on it, did 2 week long overnight testing to be sure.

Or don't believe me or test it yourself.
