Shard droprate broken cause of Medal-event?

After start of the medal event i used 5 X lucktools (2 of them with lvl 5 node and kamasilve on) and got only 2 hard shards. So am i just freaking unlucky or is something wrong? Before the even i got atleast 1 shard out of 1xlucktool. Whats your experience while the even?

10 hard shards today from around 1000 durability 500 durability in shining fluid collectors, 500 durability in magic pickaxes with most of my shards coming from the fluid collectors.

 

10%+ from alchemy stone, 3%+ from fig pie for the +gathering drop chance.

Shard drop is normal for me, get roughly the same amounts as i did before

I gotta say, I've used lucky tools often and find it's just as likely for me to get a shard with a regular shiny steel tool. Actually.... Come to think of it I have NEVER gotten a shard with a "lucky" tool. RNG is indeed random. I got a shard last night, so I don't think there is anything beyond bad luck at play.

I'm sure the blackstone event was not to increase the drop rate of hard/sharp crystal shards but to increase the drop rate of the original black stone (weapon, armor). after all, the crystal shards are not technically blackstones in themselves. In any respect i shovelled 300 times last night at the cost of around 140 energy and got 2 sharp and 3 hard. :)

So what's the incentive to go for Fig Pie (+3% gathering drop chance) and alchemy stone, yellow sturdy = +10% gathering drop chance.

 

Or am I right in thinking that these two specifically affect all gathering drops? Just wish we had something to increase farming drop-rates.

Every day someone thinks drop rates were lowered for different reasons.  Is rng really that difficult to understand?

From friday to toda,y, on sheeps, I got 19 hard + 3 event bag, but no sharp with luck fluid + magical butcher knife. Dunno if Im lucky or not, as I really need sharp right now.  Today I'll try to gathering from wolfs after I get home...

I dont know if some one told you this allrdy or not, but i gonna say it anyway.

Events or other content that give extra items to the loot table dont have any effect on the drop rate of allrdy existing items, let me explain. the loot drop table doesnt work as a cheese wheel where if you add another item its chance of drop will take away a chunk from the other items. Proof of this is that in every mob theres items that have 100% drop change like silver or trash loot. The way the loot table works is that it has serveral slots for items to drop there for when another item is added to the loot table he wont change the chance of the other items. A simpler way to look at this is to think of it has serveral cheese wheels, one for ea item that can drop, where ea wheel is divided between the chance to drop and not to drop.

This loot table mechanic works on nearly every single mmorpg.

You can take my work for it im a 4th year mechanical eng. student with extensive knowladge on mathematics and probability.
