Starting the Arena PvP League on the NA Orwen server.

Rules:

Gear:

All Gear Equipped must be of Green Quality.

All Gems Slotted must be of Green Quality.

         Maximum Enchant level armor: +5

         Maximum Enchant level Weapon: +7

Rings, earrings, necklaces: Cannot be Pri or above, must be of Green quality

Potions:

For duels, players determine what is fair.

For tournaments maximum of 3 HP potions, maximum of 10 MP/SP/WP potions

Who can Join:

1. Any player who can fight in the arena is welcome.

2. Any player who gains a reputation for cheating or being a nuisance can be disbarred by community disfavor.

3. Any player who has fought in an Arena battle using the League rules can post their name Below as a member.

How to Join:

1. Come to any Arena in NA Orwen/Calpheon 2

2. If another player is at the arena, simply ask them. "Are you in the Arena league?"

3. If they say yes, you know they will follow the rules of the Arena league and you can expect a fair and relatively even PvP challenge.

Why the league is being founded:

1. To create a community of PvP players based on skill and skill alone.

This is a true community oriented League. Any and all players, regardless of guild are welcome to participate. If you come to an Arena in Orwen/Calpheon 2, you can immediately know you have a fair challenger if they say they are in the Arena League.

What it means if they say they aren't a League member:

1. They are hanging out in the Arena to test their gear overpower vs any unsuspecting noob.

2. Are not willing to fight using even gear scores, potion amounts, or honor.

Anyone who fights in the Arena, please post below

lol wtf is this? Oh you're trying to boost your epeen? I see. This game is gear based and you know that. You want a Ranger to use only 10 mp pots? A Witch w/ 1-2 cast speed? Warrior with 1-2 attck speed? Like really? What does it prove? There are other games out there that might suit your gameplay if you don't like how this game works. You are looking too desperate man. It's pathetic.

lmfao at the "honor" part. Btch this is a video game, the fck? You lost your "honor" the moment you posted this sorry a-- sh-t

1v1 actually ain't really skill and only skillbased. The classes are balanced to big scale fights.
if you want to play an 1b1 game test out Blade and Soul.

The fact is, not all classes are the same. Some require more pots/ stats in order to work against others properly, so I don't see the point in doing this. Sorry to resurrect this thread.

it's on the honor system. The combatants choose how many pots etc. The main point was to have a venue where anyone above level 45 could go and battle in the arena without worrying about overwhelming gear disadvantage.

With low gear scores, player skill becomes more important than hours spent grinding.

Bud you can't do this sort of thing in a game like this. If you want to host some sort of "PvP learning arena" then make it such, not some gimp fight.

If you want to do some arena type thing to measure skill you throw people into the fire, no pot restrictions, no gear score restrictions. That is what you will run into in the game more than the silly no pot stuff in arenas, that is what will measure how someone performs in actual PvP. If people are concerned about gear disadvantage then improve your gear, thats what you should be spending your time doing.

lmao, there's already red battlefield for that sort of gear score e-peening. As well as standard open world pvp. If you think your gear score improves your skill, you need to pick up a dictionary and read the definition of skill again.

I don't, but it won't help them to be put into this kind of tournament only to then go out into the reality of this games OW PvP and then get railroaded.

I never once said gear score improves your skill, or implied it, just that these kinds of tournaments aren't "realistic" to the game environment. There are plenty of people who are just outright gear carries yet are just generally not the best at their class, some even being downright terrible but they dish out a lot of damage. Seen better skilled players bust those guys on their asses pretty consistently. Also I put no faith in those who do well only in RBF since its just about who can snipe whoever with the high score and thats it, just a glorified whack-a-mole.

You want to measure skill though, even if they lose, you put them in situations where they are outgunned and outmatched and just see how they perform. Or you put them into group PvP scenarios and see how well they perform.

Like I said if you want this to be some sort of "PvP learning arena" then make it that, don't mask it as something else.

Competitive pvp is a sport, not a real world experieince. There's a reason why Red batlefield always consusts of the same 50 players when the population on a server exceeds thousands of players.

Most players could never win in standard open world with no gear restrictions. A normalized system gives all players the opportunity to win.

This is an MMORPG, not a competitive PvP game. Thats Overwatch or LoL or Battlerite or Smite or CS:GO. Gear is always going to be a factor in an MMORPG, it is absolutely silly to ignore that. I get it, ish, but also its just silly to a point. If your concern was really creating something where people 45 and above can PvP without worrying about gear advantages then you'd set up some sort of training session for them because honestly anyone who is level 45 and has that terrible enough gear where you'd need to do something like this...well they have no interest in PvP to begin with.

If you want to prepare people or give them a taste or something, sure, but go with a different approach, not this.

As far as a voluntary player driven route, this is the best we can get. It allows the greatest numbers of players to participate, old and new. Once you start increasing GS req's you decrease the pool of possible participants.

Never said anything about increasing the gear score reqs, just approach this differently rather than calling it some sort of "tournament to measure skill" when you're gating people into +15 green gear only.

Like I said, sell it as a "PvP Learning Arena" rather than what you're trying to do because 50 is the new 45 and anyone still even bothering with +15 green gear is either still gearing to become relevant in PvP or they have no interest in it to begin with. And no one who is running 450+ gs is going to waste money, or failstacks for that matter, on getting +15 greens to participate in this to "measure skill" when they can use it on upgrades they can actually use.
