oh look another XP event. Because getting XP is player-effort-time based so lets nerf it instead while leaving RNG/gambling the same

because common sense is too hard, right?

If a guy puts 1500 hours effort on pve or whatever you guys decide to nerf his efforts by adding ridiculous and retarded xp events every week but if another guy presses a button and gets tet/pen with below 50 stacks and gets RNG carried its okay because gambling hurr durr

to me if you use common sense you would promote player effort and reduce retarded gambling bullshit casino but i guess that's not how they see it

well this is the game what do you expect? It is clear it won't go in a better direction that is a fact! We have to deal with this and play or just move on.

Much easier?  LOL  20 percent of .0000001 is still crap.

This game needed to have a level cap.  Unless they just want to cater to the folks that have essentially unlimited playing time.  If they had done this they would not need all these catch up events.  Too bad the game is based on level, combat skill points and rng luck to win and very little on actual skill.

please stop trying to turn BDO into a western mmo. This is a Korean Grinder with gear based PvP with skill. However no gear won't get you anywhere and that's fine. Korean games typically cater to hardcore players. There's plenty of things to do in game if you are a casual, and if you don't like it, there are plenty of other games out there. Stop trying to ruin the game how it was intentionally made.

If you haven't noticed the Korean Grinders don't seem to last very long in the west.  This game caters to no lifers and requires almost no skill if you have have more levels and were lucky enough to get the best gear.  Please don't try to convince anyone that skill plays any part in this game.  In other games you could be very skilled and beat people much higher than you.  In this game lower levels equate to pesky bugs.  One super high geared guy can hold of 20 people, not because of skill but because of bad game design.

Kakao keeps changing the game drastically than the game that is in Korea.......LOL.   Can you spin any more nonsense?  We seem to be moving back toward the Korean P2W model though.

There are never enough hard core players to sustain an MMO very long.  Most of them rush to the end where there is no end yet and leave.  Thus why this game need server mergers 6 months down the road.

i have enchanting issues and real life issues too! why won't they give an event that fixes those instead?

are you too stupid to comprehend what this topic is about?

level = dedication/time/effort

rng = press a button and the computer rolls a dice for you.

every event they make devaluates player effort and leaves gambling untouched

getting lvl 60 is not about nolifing its about dedication, im lvl 60 since awhile now and i didn't play an entire month + i don't always grind for xp 24/7 i slack a lot and i only grind whenever i want and i don't care about xp. 60 is an easy goal if you have it as goal. This event basically promotes lazy kids who sit in town and gives them stuff that others have worked to achieve so much easier which is dumb

also levels dont give combat stats (unless you can prove it) so stop whining about that

Someone needs their chill pills. The rng is sometimes a pain, but if you play it smart and pattiently you can kep advancing your chara. My rng is pretty bad so I gotta be very careful ((using spares and such)) to upgrade so my character dosent weaken

Oh wow they're making it easier to level.

Like we've never seen such a revolutionary action ever taken place in any MMO ever!  Who could have ever expected that it would get easier to level as time goes on!?!

Complaining about exp events now?

This forum never ceases to amaze me.

As for RNG, if you're annoyed by that so much, why are you still here?

RNG will always be an MMOs best tool to halting progression. Otherwise most people would quit since they'd have maxed gear and nothing to really do. *Working as intended.*

oh so if i play smart and patiently i can advance my char with RNG but if you play smart and patiently you can't advance your char's levels? pathetic

i bet forums are insanely fun if im on a couple of beers or something ,look at all these kids trying to smite me with their iron-clad logic

Look at lemon acting like he's the only one that has to deal w/ RNG. Your RNG might not be good but so as most of playerbase. Stop acting like you're the only one who has a bad RNG. If you can just stop whining like little ----- everytime maybe the RNG god will bless you.

Despite so much XP increase the past month to month and a half, I can't get myself to get passed 55 on my Warrior (even with the awakening lol) or my lvl 54 Ninja. Now that they added that bonus 200% for 30min daily, I at least do that and get 1 GM done or do my 2 daily kill quests. Once the Ninja awakening comes out I'll for sure start leveling again...I think? Lol.

So, when they raise minimum wage, do you sit on your porch and rage that it used to take you 10 hours to make what they are now making in 8 hours? Do you then feel all the work you did until that point is completely devalued and these upstarts now flipping the same burgers are getting the money much too easily, because when you flipped the burgers, it took longer to make the same amount? Life, it changes, move on.

Yup, whats your point?

I knew after the first exp event that they would be constant. It's one of those little things that is there to give weekend warriors an incentive to actually try and grind for longer hours.

Sitting here whining over people getting the "Catch-up events" is just making you look hilarious.

At least they're not freaking selling instant level boosters FFS. Then I'd see a reason to whine about something like this.

I've enjoyed watching irrelevant slowly lose his mind over the past few months!

It's a good source of entertainment.

It's called catch-up mecanics and it exists in every single MMO ever made.

What I don't understand is why did they start doing this just after 1 month after release? Ok, to be fair it was about 2 months from cbt. I was thinking then, wtf catchup events 2 months after release doesn't seem right... Maybe you can remember other mmo's that did catchup events months after release, I can only think of the failed wildstar that did this to combat massive player losses.

So, when they raise minimum wage, do you sit on your porch and rage that it used to take you 10 hours to make what they are now making in 8 hours?

No, but I do understand that raising the min wage is effectively a pay cut for everyone making more then min wage. funny how that works in the real world.

Absolutely astonishing intelligence and logic exists out there... never fails to amuse and entertain of course. So then... what we got here? Say, +100% exp event? OK...

Player A (super "hardcore" - true "no lifer" - ROFL) -> Level 666 already pushing for 777 -> Grinds exactly 23 hours and 59 min per day (ah well how sad 1 whole minute is wasted on something like taking a poop or changing a diaper) -> the +100% benefit is pretty colossal, no?

Player B (nowhere near "hardcore" enough, but still showing some "dedication") -> maybe level 55 or 56 or so -> Grinds "casually" maybe for a few hours, like I don't know, from 2 to 4 or so? Just to be a bit "relevant" (R - O - F - L) with awakenings and skill points? -> the +100% translates to some decent benefit, but nope, it won't really change the world of BDO when your daily exp gain went from 2-3-5% up to (woot!) 4-6-10%. Yes?

Player C (the absolutely true filthy casual despised and hated "carebear" - hey, you haven't even DIED yet? This super duper competitive game is not for YOU!) -> Level... what level ^^ Level lower than low, probably leveling more through "life skilling" anyway. But, all right, let us assume that somehow said player C even completed that ROFLMAO quest about Belmorn (in our most epic version) and can now progress past 49.999%. Said player C probably spends the bare minimum time doing any meaningful "grind". Perhaps just completing a daily for 100/120 mobs? Do we even have to worry about what kind of exp said player C would gain, be it with +0%, +100% or even +1000% boost.

So, it looks to me like this:

Player A? Receives a truly humungous benefit while not changing their routine and play style one bit. Of course, is always sour and terminally butthurt due to genetic defects... err, I am so sorry, didn't mean that, due to, let's say some super inflated plastic pixel ego, and above all an all consuming sense for self entitlement (this is precisely where it happens, certainly not the other way round).

Player B? Doesn't really care all that much, certainly nowhere near "grand master" Player A does. Still would like to perhaps delve a bit into the "competitive" parts of the game (hur hur), thus needs a few levels, skill points, semi-average gear and such, maybe, just maybe to have a shot at "competitive PvP" at some point. Obviously will still get vapourised by Player A or even better a zerg train of Players A.So, in a sense, Player B is pretty much small fish in that aspect of the game, with no chance of ever actually closing the gap, since you know... Player B does one step forward, Player A 10 steps forward, while Player A has already been light years ahead. Cool story. Despite all this, Player B still represents a sizeable chunk of the playerbase, if not the biggest chunk.

Player C doesn't even exist, it is "pixel trash" and wasted disc space on server storage (despite the fact there are many Player Cs around). This according to the "real and true and competitive players and self proclaimed masters of Black Desert Online". Except said gaming geniuses and masters got it all wrong from day one (if not before). Because THEY are the irrelevant TRASH, yeah you ARE freaking trash 1% of the playerbase and thus IRRELEVANT. And while I might believe this and my own personal opinion accounts to next to nothing, sadly for you, it looks like the "BDO management" feels the same, and like it or not will NOT cater to you epic and glorious 1%. Tough sh*ts.

As always, I have no numbers, and sure I can be sued anytime too. I just happen to have (personal) experience of several years into MMO gaming (and before that) and using common sense and common facts only is quite enough to make a few observations. BDO does not really deviate from the "MMO norm", if anything it has a pretty obnoxious small percentage of players who create noise and disturbances disproportionate to their numbers, and relevance. Most of them "quitting" all the time, yet still here "shit posting" like pros, and in any case throwing toddler tantrums on a daily basis and with each and every patch and update, be it with the actual game or the shop.

In the end, and like it happens in most games and their Forum, "life goes on" for the majority of players. Those who decide to spend time, effort and money in the game, will do so, and when they decide not to do anymore, will depart quietly. The only ones who will ever know is the Publisher / Developer staff. Certainly not the lil Forum "experts" and know-alls and resident trolls. And as for me, I just love to write long essays from time to time (because I can) and see the aforementioned triggered (sometimes). It is always good laughs.

Their decisions will always b made based on the majority in mind and how to please their interests, as this beast is what keeps this game running. And they are lvl 55 56 57 at best.
