hey guys ok so after few days of playing and getting know some base mechanics of nodes and trading and connecting blah blah blah,,, i still cant find any info or solid answers on what Leveling a node up does... ive heard it increases drops but certain nodes like near velia or the coast there isnt any mobs there... so what drops would it increase? and also why would you level the first towns nodes all thats there is grass bug things that drop nothing so.. again seems pointless?    my idea for the coast was since lots of fishermen there maybe it increased rare fish or those relics?   if not.. help? haha i dont know what to use my energy on while fishing dont wanna run miles to buy energy potion or gather as im fishing... and leveling nodes seems to be only afk energy spending... anyway any help what to spend energy on or facts on what leveling nodes does would be great thanks.

 

ps certain nodes you can level the node itself and then 1 or 2 mines or farms where the workers work so... what would leveling the node up and 2 other things up sure that would affect drops 3 times... so its pointless doing more than 1 its all just  a mystery haha thanks again and hope everyones having great time in game :D

I find after level 4 the drop rate decreases on all drops even greens.

investing in nodes will help mob drop rates. investing in towns is suspect and there is a dev post clarifying how worthless it is if you care to search. level goes from 1 - 10, but is unknown if the gains per level are linear.

worthless doing towns wow thats a good feature to have in game... and what about nodes with 3 upgradable parts, the node itself then worker points.... no instructions or tutorial argh it kills me haha

so the entire feature is useless and I've just wasted 400 energy haha yey!! Any responce from official channels as to what different nodes do etc would be great or is it a useless feature that just hasn't been patched out or updated ever haha

 

 Also.. my original post for some reason has changed into old timey font and I don't know how to change it.. sorry haha

1: What we've been told. 

Leveling a node will increase the quantity (aka amount) of trash items and the % of rare item drops. Please keep in mind that for example 0.001% chance + 50% = 0.0015% though, not 50.001%.

We get more silver keys if we level the node where we're fishing as well.

Workers are not affected by leveling a node.

2: What people have said. 

No significant increase on rare items (once again, due to the low % to begin with, this could be the cause) and some even say they get a lot more loot (both trash and rare stuff) when they do not have node connected at all. 

Silver keys was proven to be gained more if we level a fishing node, although this was early into the game and such things could very well have changed in (some) way(s) since then. 

 

Example: Let's say that on average you get 3 out of 65 trash items that you can trade for 30k without node connected/level 1 node per mob. You get 50% more at level 10 (these numbers are NOT accurate and I'm using them for an example here only), meaning 4-5 (since 3*1.5 = 4.5) per mob. So thereby if you farm maybe let's say.... 20 mobs per minute, before you'd get 20*3 = 60 out of 65 in a minute. Now, let's say you had 5 per mobs on average, then you'd have 20*5= 100 out of 65 per minute. 

I hope that example shows how much such things can be beneficial for people who grind (either for silver and/or for rare drops. You're bound to get a lot of trash/turn in items meanwhile). If you were grinding 1 area for 1 hour a day for example, this would be the difference between 60x60/65 = ~55 (x 30k = 1650000) compared to 100*60/65 = ~92 (x 30k = 2760000). There's a difference of over a million between someone who leveled a node and someone who didn't, counting trash items only :P. So yeah, leveling a node can be worth it if you get more trash items.

PS: keep in mind that these numbers are pure speculation and I used them ONLY for this example, meaning they may be very very incorrect/different in-game.

your incredibly gracious tof do all this haha love the maths.. so as for low level mons nodes are pointless as there trash is 10 silver and they have little to no valuable drops...   and what about the nodes within nodes.. the mine or woodcutting. On top of a node if I was to level 3 of then to level 10 would that be a total of 30 levels or?  Lots of guesswork here without actual data from devs...

 

On a side note that silver key thing is cool as I fish a lot on the coast near veilia so worth it if I have spare energy... and I do while dishing my God.. so much energy haha.

Thanks again, appreciate the help, still think the generic features of node leveling needs some TLC and updating but at least we have gathered " no pun intended" the basics haha cheers mate.
