So, I decided to not be lazy today and did something useful with my data for once instead of having Lokien do it. This post contains unclaimed nodes by name,level and the number of weeks without an owner. Raw Data can be found here. Disclaimer: Although I have # of weeks unclaimed in my spreadsheet it can't be used for historic analysis since my data starts at week3 but for the purpose of this thread its enough since every node has been claimed at least once between week 10 and week 3. Hopefully this can give some direction where to attack for best silver. Any node with .5 indicates that the node ownership was dropped due to winning a conquest war.

It always surprises me to see how many nodes have gone uncontested, as if a reminder of whether the population is dwindling or growing. I can understand Tier1's definitely going uncontested, Tier2's sure, but Tier3?

Hopefully with the recent decisions regarding server health will stimulate more wars for these nodes to fund sieges

I'm not sure if uncontested nodes is a fair measure of population because there are so many confounding variables.  For example, the issue of uncontested/empty nodes on T3s can be explained more as a function of node scheduling and player motivation.

There are 20 claimable T3s per week and--for whatever reason--half (10) of them go live on Sunday, with the other half going live at 2-per-day the rest of the week.  On a normal weekday a full contest at T3s would take at minimum 4 guilds (2 guilds fighting for each node), Sunday requires a minimum that is 5 times as big of (20 guilds) to get fights on every single node.    

Add to this the fact that player motivation in many mid-major guilds has shifted from getting a node for guild cash to building a fort to get meaningful pvp, and you see that the data shows that guilds tend to "cluster" around nodes where other forts are already built.  For example, last night Rage built on Cron Castle because there was already another fort built there (Capital).  After we had built, another guild (Depth) built another fort on the node.  My guess is that you would have seen similar things at Hexe Sanctuary.

TL;DNR  Lokien thinks the uncontested/empty T3 nodes aren't due to dwindling population but scheduling problems and PvP guilds wanting to PvP instead of taking freebie nodes.

That is most likely the case, all we can do at this point is just hope those not on the scene for wars can participate when they can

It doesn't mean nobody fought for it, it means nobody won it.  We had fought for Hexe sanctuary which hadn't been captured for 3 weeks because we kept getting 3+ guilds on it.  Same with one of the others nodes we fought over, we just happened to win it every week but one.  I don't know about you guys but most times we get 3 towers on the nodes we are going for.

A lot of those were stalemates. Hexe Sanctuary was White Lotus, FoE, and XenOfOnslaught. I believe the stalemate was between Lotus and Xen.

Unclaimed in this list only refers to a node without an owner meaning this is just a list of nodes that were empty/uncontested(0 Builds) and/or nodes that ended in a stalemate for x weeks.  For the purposes of this list and my data, you cannot use them to measure uncontested nodes since I'm only measuring how long a node has been unclaimed and I don't have enough data on builds.
