Introduce full p2w (KR-style and beyond)

Over the past few months, various good suggestions on how to improve the game for US/EU have been made across the forums. What they have in common is that they have all been ignored, with the game instead being steadily fed the copy/paste content of KR with complete disregard for its EU/US playerbase. With these decisions in mind, I think we can stop the pretense of getting any sort of unique version and instead focus on how we can keep the competition going between players in a KR-style-environment. The answer to this is simple, it's full p2w. Before I elaborate the solution further, let me first describe the problem:

As it is now, the game is pretty much 100% gear-carry, rewarding time-investment to the degree where the player who invests most hours into the game wins above everyone else by default. This is due to mindless grinding of easy PvE-mobs requiring no skill and having no restrictions (like diminishing returns). There is no way to compensate for it or to catch-up with it. Stuff like XP-boosts only play further into the hands of those who can invest the most hours. Hell, even rewards introduced for new players are abused by people with too much time on their hands leeching them across multiple servers and now getting them to carry over on merge. Even the currently very limited p2w cannot help here as silver prices on marketplace are too low and the weekly cap on selling too restrictive. Hell, with the social security system present in various EU countries, even an unemployed can still afford a little p2w. That together with the immense hours such a person can dump into the game make them by default the winner of BDO with no chance for anyone else to remain competitive. For anyone who attended world-bosses or grinded on a popular spot on a weekday during off-hours, it should be pretty obvious just how much this is an advantage over having to do so during evening times prime-time.

In order for anyone unable to dump 12h a day into grinding, unable to have logged into multiple servers every day and leeched extra attendance rewards, unable to get easy world-boss kills and free grind-spots during the day, the only solution left is to catch up with p2w. For this to work, the p2w has to be full out, even beyond what KR currently has. In practice, this means:

  • Bring on the valks cry
  • Put boss weapon and armor bundles into the pearl store
  • Introduce huge XP boost scrolls (like 1000% and more)
  • Remove weekly sales restrictions on pearl store stuff
  • Remove silver caps and let supply/demand do its work
  • Even offer straight enchantment levels on gear, if the price is right

On that last point, I very much imply that you can just as well put PEN gear into the store for whoever is willing to pay for it. The size of your account balance is the limit here really. Can't grind all day? No problem, flash your credit-card. Can't attend world bosses? No problem, flash your credit-card. Want to PvP without all the PvE chores? No problem, flash your credit-card.

Lastly, for anyone about to comment about how this is "unfair", consider this: You could have used your inside-knowledge of the KR-version to be aware of the p2w there an that it would eventually come here, just like the server-merge. Yet even better, you could have known that money rules the world and have prepared for it accordingly. Instead of spending your time every day to grind sausans and log into the other servers to leech attendance rewards, you could have gone to work instead and made money and career. There is really no excuse now for not being able to p2w and only your laziness is to blame.

Thank you for your consideration! Keep competition going in the game even with KR copy-paste content and with server-merges!

better, just request players to pay everytime they want to use a skill.

Full p2w.

troll aside, no thanks for the "kr full p2w", they'd better tweak the game to calm down that idiotistic rng gear powercreep.

I dont see why anyone who cant do any of these should be able to catch up with others who do, no matter the amount of cash either of the two invested. This is exactly the only reason why i still dont see bdo as a full p2w game. Time investment should always be worth more than cash investment in an mmo.

You are so out of reality :$

"even an unemployed can still afford a little p2w" just to enlighten you this is not true for at least 60% of the European countries...Even with the work, many ppl cant afford to drop out a money into the virtual world.

2nd somewhere I hope your post is just a big joke

3th if your desire come true and and you can practically buy for the money silver, scrolls, gear,so everything...buy somebody to play instead of you a game :P I mean...it will be a fight who have bigger pocket only :D You no need a game for that....Save your time....

4th is normal...yes ppl which are playing and put effort and time....yes they deserve to have more...its just a normal thing

Yes, i was wondering about this too, when they ll introduce full Korean model, because it's lame to wait for Valks, or Kamasylve's blessing.

And maybe that way ill just consider moving back to Korea since i m some what competetive there.

Haha cant see how dofferent it would be from now

If they will introduce Kamasylve's for pearls, ill be able to shovel manually like i did before, just with 1 hour of downtime.

The sad part is we can see the f2p coming now, probably soon rather than later with how kakao has been handling this game. It doesn't bother me, bad things like the costume selling, value packs, item merge, they make me depressed but i keep going but when my guild starts quitting and others start quitting its gonna make it hard to keep going. I've already had the people i've joined this game with quit, i've had people from my guild quit. I like this game and really don't wanna see it die.

The satire in this post is unreal. I approve.

On  a serious note though, lets fix the game and not further the damage

I really hope that you are being sarcastic, else this is the worst post I have read in this forum. Just the comment about being  unemployed shows lack of social intelligence.

Let me guess, OP gets his ass handed to him at every corner and therefore wants full p2w to get back at them(which will still get him stomped 24/7).

Why dont you just go play Overwatch you little crybaby

My post is - obviously as far as I'm concerned - a parody in the light of recent content we have received as well as the announced server-merge and the whole matter of attendance rewards.

Nevertheless, I think that the fundamental question about how to keep a healthy competition between players going is one worth asking/discussing. With grinding being the ultimate way of progression, there is clearly a huge difference between being able to do so in the middle fo the day/night, with popular grind-spots being close to empty, compared to having to do so during prime-time and even with node-wars going on. Add to this the whole gear-enchantment system, which makes one player succeed on first try, while the other player keeps failing (assuming same input of resources). Back when +15 used to be the max cap, I felt that being competitive was far easier to accomplish and people interested in PvP had an easier time to actually participate in it instead of having to grindgrindgrind in a hopeless attempt to ever catch up.

What we've seen so far in terms of "boosts" doesn't really help catching up. As I've initially mentioned, the XP boosts only help those that already grind much. Even the attendance/returner rewards have been turned into something that only further boosts those who already have much. I for one would be interested to hear more opinions of players who can "only" play during evening times, yet still try to remain competitive in the light of all this.

Furthermore, what happened to the whole "EU/US gets their own version"? These past few months, I have seen nothing that would suggest such a thing. On the contrary, I would be very much surprised if we'd NOT get those p2w options that KR currently has...

Let me guess, OP gets his ass handed to him at every corner and therefore wants full p2w to get back at them(which will still get him stomped 24/7).

This is really funny and a prime example of the kind of hypocrite playing BDO and being happy with the current system. See, "go back to game xy" is no insult to me, because guess what, those games actually reward gaming skills over mindless grinding and gear-carry. So if anything, you tell me to go back to where my talents matters and you are right, this is exactly what I'm doing atm when it comes to PvP. I PvP every day, but I do it in precisely those games you suggest. Then when I'm done with that, I return to BDO to look at the pretty scenery and pick a flower or two, while having a laugh at talentless -----s like you who are too terrible a player to compete in any proper PvP. You should reconsider your advise and how you phrase it. Instead of the dismissive tone applied when telling people to "go back to game xy", you should cheer them and be happy - if not a little envious - that they can do so, while you in turn have to remain here, where 100% gear carry obtained by brainless PvE grinding wins the day. I pity you, nothing more.

When you use the word "keep" it implies that there is or at least was a healthy competition between players. It's never been a healthy competition in my opinion.

I was not sure your post was total sarcasm. After reading your own answer, i thank you for it, and have nothing more to say...
Because there are so many ways to fix the game, and Kakao will never listen, neither learn. They dont care, in fact; they make tons of money, and will make more and more and more. They want nothing more. They have no longtime goals for bdo.

f2p and valks cry etc will come eventually. We are morphing into the korean client, just slowly.

When it does I will be bumping some posts of morons arguing the contrary with me.

how to keep a healthy competition between players going is one worth asking/discussing.

As long as they doesnt change the gear upgrade system ( so bound to cash shop ), as long as they doesnt correctly balance AP - DP, and class, as long as every freaking system in that game is at 95% ruled by RNG ( so players are more observer than actor, since the rng decide everything for them )

Nothing is never going to change. that game still is going to be a broken 2 speed game ruled by money usage & h24 mindless playing.

And using the words "to keep" is assuming

1- you one day had player competition

2- that game ever was "healthy"

BDO never ( and still doesnt ) provided 1 or 2 to begin with.
