Why The Game Lost So Many Players

So the game has lost a great amount of players since release for many different reason but the top reason is definitely the RNG system. That great system where your progress doesn't matter or how many hours you've spend grinding and farming. People are here to have fun not to play lucky slots and yeah i get it, it has to be hard to enchant items, make them better, etc but throwing an RNG system on everything is not a solution... it's lazy development. Most players if not all hate that especially when it comes to enhancing accessories which is too punishing. We all know that the player base is dropping and for those that don't well, open your eyes and speak. Today i lost a bunch of good accessories because i wasn't lucky since that's all you need to make your character stronger. Yeah there are those times that your enchantment succeeded and you loved it but why make something so fun rely on luck?

Anyway i know this topic wont change a single thing because the developers are on "Don't Care" mode but at least i said what i wanted to say. I will keep playing this game but I'm honestly really bummed by some stuff that ruin the fun of the game and i don't get it why do they have to add those fun ruiners in something that can be just plain fun while being difficult at the same time. I'd hate to see this game go F2P or even shut down but that's ordinary nowadays i guess.

Just curious, where are you getting this information from?

I don't know maybe because they are merging the servers? Or there are not so many players daily?

I was wondering this too? Tbh I never seen so many active players before. When trying to grind there is always full, when going for world/field bosses there is always so many players that even people with a great graphic card gets 5 fps. Even when I go tanning sheeps there is people everywhere. Of course we lost some players since the begin, that is common knowledge, but no way "a great amount". People who rage on the forum aka toxic kids are still in-game. Even know they complain about the merge because they weren't to smart to make an alt on other servers... Do you want a secret? They are still in-game and will be there after the merge. They only complain on the forum to get a chance to get free stuff.

I hope so, because i really feel like the game will go free to play soon and i see so many people in game and outside complain about different stuff that it's like the game has no player base. Yeah i see players to grind spots, bosses, towns, etc. too but is is enough for an MMORPG to stay alive?

Well, the game just got way better than few months ago so everyone in my office joined. I'm sure there are others having similar experiences.

I can't tell you when this game goes free to play. It is a strategic decision according to how people are willing to spend money. If people keep spending money it will be enough. And yes trust me people are spending a sh*t loads of money on this game even if they deny. But even the free to play aspect won't affect much in game, that would be healthy - of course you have to keep in mind that if they go full p2w with the free to play it will get nasty, but only the free to play aspect... I see that as positive. To get back to what you more or less a saying: "Will we lose people if they merge the server and WH"? No we will not loss any players. We will gain from it. A server merge will bring more people together, socialize, having fun, more wars, node/guild wars etc. So much more fun!... I got no comment about WH merge, it is a matter of opinion - only think I can add to it is: It is not an exploit :D Be positive man :D:D

I think the truth is companies are focusing on a different kind of gamer. The largest revenue for mmo's by virtue of numbers are the ones who don't care about fair and equal play. The massive RNG in BDO is certainly not about fair and equal play. Those of us who enjoy fair play and difficult content are the ones who see the population falling. Everyone with similar goals and feelings whom we play with can't stomach what passes for a 'game' nowadays and eventually leaves.

I really hope someday an mmorpg will be created with the goal of being fair and challenging over squeezing every possible cent from players. Gamers who want fair game play are now the minority. So any game designed for me as a player will be niche. I think this is the reality of the mmo industry and the gaming community. It's disgusting to put it simply.

I do agree. But I think we have to look for another genre. MMO is not about fair and equal play like you said ;)

Yeah i guess but if it goes free to play people including me who have bought the game for a high price will not be happy with people who just play for free. It will really feel unfair.

- overpirced cash shop

- broken class balance

- broken AP - DP balance turning that game into a Call of Dooty one shoot boom pvp.

- mindless over abused RNG usage pulling out the game from players hands, make him as spectator, and barely an actor.

- Mindless rng powercreep gear upgrade

- no skill pvp because everything rely on your gear power

- not that challenging pve

- ubber desync wasting that great action based fight

- Not even decent in game customization because everything is cash shop locked ( even if sure we can now buy CS outfit on the market ),  cash shop locked dye..

Pick your reason.

Yeah that's true but this game is something different from other MMORPG right now but not on every aspect.

I tell that to myself each time I buy a new graphic card and after 2 days it is half the price ;) Get my point?

I know, there are some bad things in this game but i believe most people hate the RNG system because nobody likes to play with his luck, it's not fun, it's yes or no and like you said it's up to random numbers you don't actually need to fight for it or do something, you just pray? i guess...

3 servers = 12 channels each

1 mega server = 36 channels.

12 X 3 = 36.

No game with "equal play" is fair because all players are different from each other ;)

That game do provide all mighty in game advantage based on time + RNG luck ( and ofc money spend on the cash shop ) which actualy, remove any satisfaction to be really proud & really merit something when you get it.

well yeah rolling dice all day long is boring, you are not involved in that game, because RNG decide nearly everything for your.

You just look the game play for you.

no brain, no skill, no personal competence needed, so you ( as player ) never progress, since there is nothing to learn, so nothing to improove as gameplay experience

Well, sure there the class gameplay so skill - combo usage, but that's all

- overpirced cash shop Depends on your wealth, country, and knowledge from other games like Tera (that is what I call overprice). BDO is not overprice for me.

- broken class balance No way you or any other are able to say that before all the awakenings is out.

- broken AP - DP balance turning that game into a Call of Dooty one shoot boom pvp. That I do agree. AP scales way more than DP. I give you that one.

- Mindless rng powercreep gear upgrade. This is an mmo!

- no skill pvp because everything rely on your gear power 100% bullsh*t.

- not that challenging pve True, yet I never seen "challenging" pve before in a mmo.

- ubber desync wasting that great action based fight I got no desync after the recent patch.

- Not even decent in game customization because everything is cash shop locked ( even if sure we can now buy CS outfit on the market ),  cash shop locked dye.. What the hell are you talking about, lol?

Why, to be honest "games" which are spinning around "fair" play are most succesful games anyway, like shooters, mobas.

Even if u go for MMOs, GW2 and WoW, are completely fair, and more successful then games like BDO ever will.

Yeah i know but as i said people like to escape from the unfair reality by playing games and they run into something similar. I just don't get why a game has to have good and bad things like great gameplay but bad scroll bosses. They could just make everything fun, they know what people like and what they enjoy.

As bad as some things may be, they could certainly be worse..

Most things you want being locked behind lotto boxes you have to pay real money for. I would certainly rather pay $30 for a costume than $150 and never get it.

That's true, things could be much worse, I've played some awful MMO that had me question why did they made this game in the first place and did they expect people to like it?
