Alchemy 50% Nerfed after Patch, Intentional or Bug?

11 posts in this topic

Posted (edited)

Hello, Artisan 10 Alchemy here. After the Nov 16 patch, Alchemy for Metal Solvent and other items was hugely reduced with each craft

I tested this. Did 600 total crafts of metal solvent.

Before patch 100 crafts was ~240 metal solvent

After about ~140 for 100 crafts

As a billionaire life skiller (some maybe salty about this), this is not just my problem but it translate to others aspects of the game as well.

For example: Pure crystal use to make fishing rod, which with the upcoming patch fishing will be buff greatly(I don't have a source for this, but search on YouTube its there). Afk fishing to the ocean in the upcoming patch will net you ~20-25m each runs and tons of relic shard.

The problem now is that with less metal solvent from alchemy, we as crafters will be inclined to craft anymore because its not profitable, or mush less anymore since required materials exceeds the profit. (Those who does crafting will know what I am talking about)

Another problem is that there will be overall less pure crystal on the market, which equals less materials to feed end game alchemy stone. Although this problem apply only to end game players its still there.

The 2 problems above were just some issue following the Alchemy nerfed, the less overall fishing rod quanlity is the more important one. Because lets face it, everyone does some fishing overnight and with the upcoming fishing buff, everyone wants a +7 or more fishing rod for that easy money. But guess what, there will be less and less fishing rod from now on and the price will jump up because of this alchemy nerfed.

I want a confirmation of a GM on this nerfed or rather it is just a bug since the patch notes just says "adjusted". Even though I know they won't change anything just like the trading nerfs but still I am here informing fellow life skillers hoping for a clarification.

From patch notes

The obtainable amount from processing the following alchemy items have been adjusted:

  • Metal Solvent

  • Gem Polisher

  • Plywood Hardener

  • Leather Glaze

Its intended nerf, alchemy is completely waste of time now... Well we still have thousands of metal solvent saved in Wh, but when they will be gone rods market will be dead, pure crystals market will be dead,  yuria weapons market crafted passively by some ppl will be dead, alch stone market will be dead, noble wagons market will be dead... We will just stop supply and move onto other life skill activity or onto grinding...

Wasnt trace of savagery already one of the more expensive materials of its kind just because there was a huge need for metal solvent? WHY would they nerf the output even more then?

Because they want to limit how much money people can make in game so that you are more inclined to spend real money from their cash shop to sell items for silver.  Alchemy was a really good source of money.  It is now RIP.  Better off grinding\crates.

I agree it's specifically a problem for Metal Solvent & Tyrant Blood mainly because there is almost NO OTHER SOURCE of savagery Traces in the game.  Demihuman weapons are extremely rare so there's no farm & Smelting them.   The only mobs that drop any are Saurian & Mane bosses which is also an extremely limited resource.   basically:  Pearl Abyss screwed the pooch first by not having 2 Nodes  (while lots of other Traces all have 2 nodes) and 2nd by not having Demihuman Weaps in the regular Drop Tables

Yea this has been very dissappointing, worked all the way to Master 2 before they did this shit.  Really doesn't make any sense, because people who didn't buy pearl shop items for silver before, aren't going to start because you decided to nerf an important product, that's stupid, and you are watering down your game with things like this unnecessarily.

Don't traces of savagery drop at Manes?

Yeah, I noticed how few I was getting, even if I missed the patch notes.

Sucks since both trace of savagery and rocks is a pain to get enough of. Also need rocks for utensils and node wars related :(

Price and demand on crystals, rods, destruction alchemy stones and other stuff will go up for sure. However, since there's a max price in the action house people will have to start pre-ordering or trying to snipe things with metal solvent as reagent.

Seems like they only want us to spam trade crates&grinding :S
