Coherent UI eats CPU ?

So I've been investigating why my game crahes or "reloads" (like map opens and area get reloaded, really annoying if im afk training, meaning i lose autopaths). What I've seen around the forums is that compared to other poeple, my Coherent UI uses around 30% of my cpu, while other people's 0%. What...the fk ? Is it fixable ? If so, how do I fix this ?

coherent.jpg

So I got a game crash right after posting this while having task manager opened. What I've noticed is that what really craches is the Coherent UI, and it makes the game "reaload". All Cpu usage related to the process went to 0% after it crashed and restarted.

Yeah I noticed the same. Multiple Coherent UI processes. I think this is a new glitch or maybe it's related to when you keep dropping back to the "ThanksGiving" screen and then rejoin the live game near where you lost connection or whatever reason it's doing it. AND that's new as well.

Devs?

*BUMP*  ... I don't have a screeenshot right now, forgot to snap one, but I had TWO OF THESE running at the same time each adding on 25% more sys Resources drain.

It was actually causing my Heat levels to approach the 150f range which means if this garbage was left going by someone who isn't even aware it's happening, it could mess up their CPU or PSU in no time at all.   As for what the process does, it seems to have something to do with the Kakao Web Browser emulator built into the game meaning the only purpose it currently serves is SQL with the BS Adventure board game and possibly the worthless Crafting menus that shouldn't even EXIST Imho  (it should just pop a prompt to launch BDO.DB site in default browser)

EDIT:

CoherentUI_bugged.thumb.jpg.2c0860609953

Proof of Dupe procs.  it's cutting BDO's cpu utilization in Half or worse >:(    ...and I hadn't even opened any Web/SQL menus yet, it just did this on its own

This is just insane. This Coherent Ui is ruining my FPS.  As you can see in the picture, two Coherent UI use almost the same percent of CPU as the game itself.

Some people believe that Kakao is using these processes to access our CPU and RAM and use it for their own purposes (increasing server stability for instance).

We could really use official statement from Kakao team what is Coherent UI, why it is using our CPU so much, why is it destroying our FPS and when will they remove it?

@GM_Caramel @GM_Huego @GM_Dew

Any comment on this? So far I am fighting it by stopping every Coherent Ui process that I see, but that is becoming annoyance, I may as well delete the game and get rid of this malware once and for all.

This is great stuff. When the game is bottlenecked by main thread anyway, use some mini-browsers for games to do some mining to make use of other threads more efficiently.

Coherent UI key benefits copied from their site:

Save time and resources (by mining, game devs will save resources on server costs :D)

Create Complex UI with ease (devs will save time by not creating their own mini-browser)

Be in control of what’s going on (devs can choose how many threads they want to use for mining?!)

Jokes aside, this is the reason why devs should never use third party "malware".

Have the same problem too since last patch. Even in tray the game takes up to 50% CPU with 30% just being that process...

Copying this over from the other thread I put it in:

Coherent UI is third party software used to run in game custom UIs.  BDO uses it for things like the "Notice" page you get on login, BS Adventures, the crafting guide, the guild information page, etc.  Each item you open gets its own process.  Occasionally it derps and starts to eat CPU at an insane rate.  You can "fix" this by opening up task manager and ending the process.  This will not close BDO, however it does mean that to use those services again you need to restart BDO completely.  Most of my guild runs with it turned off except for a few hours to get the BSAdventure rolls each day.

If you manually close these running processes, you cannot use the blackspirit board game, and cannot see the guild names in the guild window at all.

Otherwise you can toast your cpu with this. :D

Personally, for this reason or not but the game is running slower in the big cities, the load of the objects and textures are slower than before, there are a lot of graphical lags.

I do not think so that an i7-3770K on 4.5Ghz, with 16Gb rams, and a GTX1070 should be a problem to run the game on very high settings without the high-end button checked.

I am forwarding all of the information in this topic to the developers, so they can investigate this. If you have any additional information, please do post it here so I can add it to the report.

A temporary fix for the issue seems to be as following: press Escape > Marketplace > My Items > Click the X on the top right to close it again.

Coherent UI(Much like applications that use V8 engine and such, not that CUI uses V8) is going to run 'multiple processes' for it's main process.

As far as it overusing RAM, sounds like a memory leak due to buggy junk. Issue is with CPU, still follow steps below.

Make sure that all your files are validated and none have been tampered with(client side mods, etc).

Tampering like this can cause issues.

If you have in the past, I'd do a file validation now just incase.

hope this helps, thanks.

it must have some serious bad programming, after suspending all the running instances, my CPU temp drop by bout 20C and hovers around 40C

dont mind having it running during winter, but it's summer for me right now and it feels like a sauna having CPU hovering around 60C and at time hitting 72C

I have the same issue, I usually have to run the game in windowed mode and have task manager open to close them when it gets bad.

Two areas I notice it happens the most (happens randomly other times)

1)      Heidel: Around the big Christmas tree/center of town. Coherent UI goes bonkers.

2)      Altinova: Around the center of the city where the Warehouse is located. Massive hang-ups and FPS drops with Coherent UI (two processes) eating up a lot of system resources

Same here, over time I get anywhere from 2 to 8 instances of coherent UI, each of those instances maxing out a cpu core, and therefore lowering game fps over time.

updated info;  This issue is not seemingly the same one as with the market, this happens even when not using the market at all (i..e log in, do stuff and never touch market), issue happens

I was doing tests today, in several of the cases where the issue occurs without the market having been used, that workaround does not work. The only workable fix is killing the process, but it starts up again and sooner or later it bugs out again (it can be 5 mins or 5 hours). I can't seem to find a common cause for the issue starting though, it seems very random.

bummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmp - it kills performance.  Every time i start lagging, I open up task manager and kill the processes.

Unable to run this game all week. Crashes after a couple of minutes being logged in. Not sure why, my PC can handle this easily up until the last week. I don't even get to the lagging phase, screen freezes, mouse comes active, and then after a few seconds either closes or a Windows "app not responding" prompt comes up to kill game. Even just collecting the daily stuff from calendar is darn near impossible, let alone actually killing or gathering anything!

If it occurs i kill the process, before it uses ridiculous amounts of cpu there is no indicator which of 5 (!) coherent_ui tasks are gonna blow up.

It made my game crash during a horse race because i wasnt able to kill the tasks mid race. I lack understanding for no official updates on an issue everyone seems to have who actually plays the game.

i'm having the same issue, coherentUI using up like 50% of my CPU with 2 processes, while BDO uses up the other 50%. definitely seems to happen most around heidal and altinova, i thought it was just the christmas decorations...

on a related note, BDO itself seems to randomly decide to suck up a tun of ram- even when coherentUI isn't doing its nonsense. it didn't do this before, and my comp already has a hard time running BDO, can anything be done about this?

Seriously?  No one is going to respond to an issue burning up peoples hardware?  Get on this shit, things like this should not stand.
