The fix is to literally just wait. Let it sit and it will keep going eventually. (Worked for me

And the fix for the crash loop is what?

Eternal loop of patch & file check - RIP BDO 2k16

this is 100% accurate. it does take a few minutes but it will go through.

If you got impatient and force closed and restarted, and are having issues, delete the version.dat file to perform a scan, and it will scan the files and replace whats missing.

Patience is a virtue. A coffee is a blessing.

Man. Did you read what ppl wrote? Its not that it only gets "stuck".

Corrupted files that auto force File check again is the issue that all of us have. Version.dat gets deleted automatically if the launcher detects corrupted files. So we literally are getting put in a loophole that goes:

Patch -> Corrupted File -> File Check -> Patch -> Corrupted File -> File Check -> Patch -> Corrupted File -> File Check -> Patch -> Corrupted File -> File Check -> Patch -> Corrupted File -> File Check -> Patch -> Corrupted File -> File Check -> Patch -> Corrupted File -> File Check -> Patch -> Corrupted File -> File Check -> Patch -> Corrupted File -> File Check -> Patch -> Corrupted File -> File Check -> Patch -> Corrupted File -> File Check -> Patch -> Corrupted File -> File Check -> Patch -> Corrupted File -> File Check -> Patch -> Corrupted File -> File Check -> Patch -> Corrupted File -> File Check -> Patch -> Corrupted File -> File Check -> Patch -> Corrupted File -> File Check -> Patch -> Corrupted File -> File Check -> Patch -> Corrupted File -> File Check -> Patch -> Corrupted File -> File Check -> Patch -> Corrupted File -> File Check -> Patch -> Corrupted File -> File Check -> Patch -> Corrupted File -> File Check -> Patch -> Corrupted File -> File Check -> Patch -> Corrupted File -> File Check -> Patch -> Corrupted File -> File Check -> Patch -> Corrupted File -> File Check -> Patch -> Corrupted File -> File Check -> Patch -> Corrupted File -> File Check -> Patch -> Corrupted File -> File Check -> Patch -> Corrupted File -> File Check -> Patch -> Corrupted File -> File Check -> Patch -> Corrupted File -> File Check -> Patch -> Corrupted File -> File Check -> Patch -> Corrupted File -> File Check -> Patch -> Corrupted File -> File Check -> Patch -> Corrupted File -> File Check -> Patch -> Corrupted File -> File Check -> Patch -> Corrupted File -> File Check -> Patch -> Corrupted File -> File Check -> Patch -> Corrupted File -> File Check -> Patch -> Corrupted File -> File Check -> Patch -> Corrupted File -> File Check -> Patch -> Corrupted File -> File Check -> Patch -> Corrupted File -> File Check -> Patch -> Corrupted File -> File Check -> Patch -> Corrupted File -> File Check -> Patch -> Corrupted File -> File Check -> Patch -> Corrupted File -> File Check -> Patch -> Corrupted File -> File Check -> Patch -> Corrupted File -> File Check -> Patch -> Corrupted File -> File Check -> Patch -> Corrupted File -> File Check -> Patch -> Corrupted File -> File Check -> Patch -> Corrupted File -> File Check -> Patch ..... and so on

same issue here, download stopped at 48% and got the corrupt file message, now it feels like its redownloading the entire game again -.-

if you have deleted version.dat and force a file check, it will look like its redownloading the whole game but in reality it isnt. The launcher simply does not contain the string text for "checking files" so it just displays "Downloading".....but if you will notice the speed is very very high, until it actually does start downloading whats missing.

Corrupted files that auto force File check again is the issue that all of us have.

With any game launcher that patches up, I would advise sending your AV client into game mode, if you have one, or temporarily disabling it.  Launching the launcher as Admin may also help if you have Windows UAC enabled (though my stays disabled as I run on the root admin account)

Upon checking Task Manager it's using roughly 35-39mbs network so I can confirm it's re-downloading the whole 41.30GB :(

Close your launcher, and look in the BDO installation folder, at the bottom you should see version.dat, delete that, and restart the launcher.

It will "scan" your files (it will say downloading, but its not, i promise), and then download the appropriate replacement files, if needed

i know what you mean, it isnt the first time something like this happens. the usual file check didnt take longer than 10 minutes but this one takes almost an hour already and its not even 50% done with it. so yea it feels like its a full redownload of the game.

Not the whole. The files it downloaded up to 48% are getting written into the games .paz files. Every single Paz file that was altered by those 48% of patch are getting fully redownloaded if corrupt. Not the whole game. Only affected files. Its alot of files though.

lol No, its not, I can assure you, because there is not a single player anywhere on this planet that is going to download anything from the Akamai CDN at 35 *mpbs*

we have a very large client now, over a whopping 40Gb. I'm not going to argue with folks over whether it is actually downloading the whole game, when I've regularly forced file checks, and i KNOW on my connection, it isnt possible for me to reach those speeds.  DSL in my area simply doesn't have the bandwidth capable of that. lol

Go make coffee while its doing its thing, or breakfast....a biscuit sounds good right about now

After the patching process crashes you have to almost redownload about 20 GB (see my other post for the explanation why this is the case).

Not using any AV. All your tips are already in place. It doesnt help.

Well. Truth to be told - even patches are RNG now. I've waited patently 3 times now and everytime it gets stuck, once it get's unstuck (mind you, not touchng it at all) it's corrupted. Damn it, can't get those PRI Patch Files. Not enough failstack guys.

Mine got stuck at 48%, and after reading the posts here, I just left it alone.  25mins later, it resumed and completed to 100%.

If that's the case, that's rediculous.  You can't expect people to re-download 20GB of files because they can't fix/patch their launcher

Actually I had zero issues as I waited for the "48% stuck" to just finish.  However, 3 hours prior to maintenance being finished, there was a 375mb patch that I downloaded. Not sure what that was about

Haven't started game yet, guess i'll try patching in a couple hours time

Just remember, when it sticks at 48% don't screw with it, just let it work its way through

I let it patch, it stopped at around 50% then continued after around 4 minutes and then gave me a file corruption. Im still on my first corruption-scan without ever closing the game during the patching process. The checking is painfully slow and getting even slower.

there is no such file in that folder. actually in non of my bdo folders.

so i guess just restart without deleting what is not there should work just fine?

what exactly do you mean by that ?
As in, it started to auto-check?

.......if for some reason it doesnt work, close the launcher, perform the task I have stated above and then relaunch.

Also I certainly hope you don't mean you have the client itself running while patching

If u stuck on corrupted files, the version.dat is not there. It gets written when the patch process was succesful.

what exactly do you mean by that ?

Closing the launcher I assume
