Dye problems

God knows if a thread like this has been made before, but the dye system is so -----ed for me.

Dye my entire costume Pure white, once out of the dye screen i look metallic silver / even almost blue.

Dye my entire costume Metallic black, end up looking dark silver / cyan blue.

Is my effects/lighting -----ed or is it the games dye / lighting system?

just looks so different from the Dye costume, to what the end result is in-game.

Depends on the type of dye you are using. If you look carefully, there are like 6 different types of dyes, ranging from matte to metallic, which resemble "materials" like cloth, leather or metal.

Unfortunately, unless you have access to Merv's pallete you are kind of screwed since there is no real way to "test" the dye you want.

If you're using merve's pallete, be sure to change the lighting scheme to the one that's pure blue background, that is the only one that has a 'true' lightning scheme for you to compare colors.

Also Kasathar is correct, different colors do different things. None of the special colors are actually white - and some costumes have a predetermined material setting that you can't change without using a special dye, so if it's not already a white piece, it won't ever be,

When you are in the dye window, look to the top right. You will see an icon to change the lighting.

Option #5 is the closest to what you normally see in-game in the world.

Keep in mind some of the Merv's pallet dyes dont get the rich color as the cash shop ones. So when you use the black on metal, it reflects like a lighter shade of black.

Also it depends on the type of material. I have seen some armor with metal that is duller and shows the dark colors while my Delphine Knight costume on my Ninja does not have the deep dark look unless im in the shadow.

The metals are the hardest because they change with the light source and reflect a lot more than in other games.
