Having leveled my own to 52 so far (even ran into steparu along the way) the class feels pretty different than any other sword user in the game.

the thing most aren't also accounting for is the reach this blade has, on top of her mobility. It's pretty fantastic. She doesn't really use it like it's a heavy sword. She wields it in two hands as if it's just more comfortable that way.

dont knock it till you try it

The design of the character is great. Love the attacks and movement, but the vids just remind me of the main problem for me with the game: killing mechanical bulls, killing a bunch of soldiers, yadda, yadda, yadda. Such amazing combat and a great engine wasted on grinding mobs. The Dark Knight certainly looks good doing it, though. Really wish the game had a real PvE side to itself, I'd love playing some of the classes in raids and dungeon crawls.

No thanks to dungeons and raids.  It's one of the reasons I enjoy this game.

I get that BDO is trying to be different but to be honest killing hundreds of thousands of the same enemy doing the same rotation for hours for .001% exp and a a bit of money? It becomes a endless boring grind with no real objective an not much sense of accomplishment, Sure there is gear progression, but that is something that should be looked forward to and something to be excited about not to dread "Oh god, here goes ANOTHER attempt at TRI/TET" Trying to upgrade and progress is more punishment that reward.

And don't get me started on the fact you earn less exp in a party. Sure more party members = faster kills = more exp, but what about those who do not run with a full party of 5? :/ I like that they are trying to make something new here but at the end of the day there is close to nothing to do but grind the same mobs for hours and hours until your eyes bleed, and nearly no encounters or mechanics aside from the people who come and kill you when your grinding lol.

If they just created a wider degree of mob-types it would make PvE far more interesting. The mobs in this game are stupid. Their AI, terrible. Especially when 'early' Tera already made great strides in this area and that game is ancient now. Bams for example were a fantastic mechanic and broke up the typical kill-ten-thousand-mobs-to-level deal you get in most games.

The elites in Gehaz and Cadry are a step in the right direction, and I'd truly love to see an area full of these things where you only fight elites for progress. This would be great! (If anyone remembers really old Aion for example).

 

Again this leads to another point where BDO simply falls down... Mob difficulty vs 'probable' reward. The Centaurs are probably the hardest mobs in the game to fight (in fact I'd say only the mobs in Hystria are more dangerous. Not even aakman is comparable but they mostly just have high amounts of HP). Yet their reward in both XP, loot, and skill points is utterly pitiful... This is seen through out the game.

The devs really need to consider a massive economic re-balancing of risk vs reward in this game. The fact that, if you die in the Desert you take double the XP loss, but the general rewards across the region are terrible for example is just utterly stupid...

Sounds like youre playing the wrong game. I for one love grinding for hours on end, feels like endless dynasty warriors, wich is a good thing imo. Throw on some music and it becomes theraputic with how good combat flows. Endless hours builds muscle memory i use in pvp.

But where is the gameplay in killing the same idiot mobs for 40 hours ? Is like buying the witcher 3, and killing drowners for 300 hours, is not fun at all. If you don't know what im talking about, well thats explain why you enjoy so much grinding.

PVP encounters ? Oh you mean the ppl with 300 AP overgeared oneshotting ppl 10 lvl below ?
