Black Desert Tools(Failstack Calculator) Has A Webapp Now! Also, Important Notice to Windows Store App Users

Weapon Failstack Calculator

Accessory Failstack Calculator

After significant feedback from the community requesting that I port the app to something more accessible to the community, I spent all of last night porting it to a webapp version via Javascript.

I realized how many people either dislike the Windows Store, don't use windows 10, or just don't want to download anything, so I figured I could do better.

While porting the app, I actually noticed a pretty bad typo in my code that caused recommended failstacks to be much lower than they should. This affected the current windows store build as of 12/29.

I immediately dropped what I was doing to fix the bug within the app, and submitted a fix to Microsoft. The fix should come out later today or tomorrow, and everyone's app will automatically update(unless you disabled it in your windows store settings). Once the app updates to 1.2.14 the math will be correct.

For the next day or so, I recommend using the webapp version linked at the top, it uses the up-to-date math that is accurate.

I sincerely apologize if the initial numbers caused anyone trouble. I can assure that they're much more accurate now. To assure everyone the math works now, I've done the following:

  • Uploaded a video explaining the code here

  • Created the webapp version via javascript, which uses the same exact math and creates the same results(as the new build), which users can see via the inspect element(f12 in chrome, scroll down below the html).

Hopefully this encourages a lot more discussion, and perhaps other smart people that are good at math and coding can provide suggestions to further improve accuracy.

I want to thank everyone for all constructive feedback, advice, and assistance you've all provided. As a new developer this is a huge learning experience and I enjoy doing my best to make something useful. You guys are an awesome community.

To new users, basically the two links provided above help you calculate the ideal amount of failstacks to use when enchanting accessories or weapons, and how to go about failstacking

Thanks...

Instead of showing your Code on YT (that´s so useless) off you should post it on Github/Bitbucket and consider make an Flow Diagram~

I would like to know:

How do you decide that it´s enough? When do you say that there are enough FS or that you should switch to DUO Equip? Is it just an hardcoded FS count or is it calculated?

the methods given in these programs is terrible. i tried 4 different permutations and it all said use +14 to 17 stacks then do duo armor pieces to 44/54 stacks. this isnt even in the realm of how to properly obtain failstacks.

I would think that this is a good start but that it is overly simple in that it neglects weapons to build FS. 1-15 FS on Reblath armor is fine but you jump to expensive armor right after that. What about using green weapons or +14 Grunil from +15 to 20 and then using PRI Armor or Boss weapons to go up from there? I don't use Duo until 26 FS

AFAIk there isn't a difference in chance for enchanting green/blue armor vs good ol reblath.

You must have bad rng then.  I can normally proc DUO on armor at 18 to 22... pretty consistently.

A lot of people voiced concerns about how it's stupid to use DUO armor to failstack past a certain amount, say 40 or 50. It's hard to mathetmatically determine when it's best to use TRI or TET armor, because there are factors that are hard to quantify.

I could add in a "hackish" recommendation to use TRI 20 FS after the DUO switch threshold, TET 20 after the TRI threshhold, etc, but it wouldn't be determined by math...

Any professional actuaries wanna help me out? Lmao
