Valk Awakening and SP Sustain and general tips

Hi All,

I decided to try a Valk since I have nearly every other class at awakening.  Levelling was pretty straightforward, even managing to kill some awakened classes who tried to PK before I was 56 :)  Now that I'm lvl 56 I've been trying to learn the awakening skills and combo's.  First thing I'm noticing is that it's definitely a lot hard to play than other awakened classes that I have (Sorc, Witch, Kuno, Tamer and Zerk).  But I have the feeling it's going to be a rewarding class that takes time to master, I've already been jumped on at the usual spots and won both fights :)

Couple of things I've noticed is that it feels a lot "clunkier" than other awakened classes, movement is jerky and aiming the lance is sometimes awkward.  That aside, the other thing I'm struggling with is maintaining SP while awakened and grinding PvE.  I know I can use Breath of Elion, but that means pausing in-between fights or casting mid-fight which isn't ideal.  There only seems to be one ability that regens SP @ 56.  Is it now a case of having to spam pots; which I never experienced while levelling? or level and spam Lancia training to get SP back?  So far Valk is the only awakened class where I've experienced a resource bottleneck whilst grinding.  It could just be that I've been spoilt by my witch, where there is no downtime at all moving from pack to pack or even the slightest worry about mana regen.

Advice would be appreciated.

Hello new lovely Valk :)

I had had the same problem and was told on these very forums 2 things which really helped:

1) Use the Space skill all the damn time - excellent in PVE with LMB. Mash repeatedly when needed.

2) Spec a skill with MP regent which you can use for example Cekestial Spear - obviously take the crib as well and there are bette add one but this helps me.

Good luck!

Block, it's most effective SP regain mode. Aside this, I use Shift+E between packs, if I'm really really short and need a quick fix I resort to space between LMB (as @Galatia already pointed out). From time to time I just shift+space while my pets harvest all the loot.

I'd follow promptness with promptness if I could >.>. In all seriousness yeah weaving promptness between your skills will help your sustain. I also carry about 50 refined herbals with me at all times for if I ----- up and don't have enough SP left for me to make it to the next pack with dash/prompt cancels.

O.o sorry but you recommend using extraction gems? unless u have an extra weapon for pve only, i don't see how this is any good advice.

I've started weaving promptness into my rotations now and it's a MASSIVE help.  It just might be my favourite all time skill :)  I am really awakened Valk right now, i think it's going to be my favourite class!

It takes some getting used to, but once you get your head around the skill chains and switching between longsword/lancia it's lots of fun.  Can do some nice combo's but still a lot to learn.

Against most mobs you don't need a tri kzarka, a +15 bares or something will do just fine. Unless you're farming Pila Ku or valencia mobs you will be fine with Rosar or Liverto at +15(since they have two gemslots).

Promptness is love, promptness is life, then comes the handy Q. We should totally arrange a valk-only meet and greet.
