I'm working hard behind the scenes! My main priority task is currently still Customer Support through tickets, so whenever we have a rise in tickets, I unfortunately must take some time off from the forum. =(

Aye, I know your main task is behind the scenes which is a damned shame cause you're the bestest when you're on the forums :(

wish you we, I hope you wander into the suggestions and see good suggestions to be reported to Pearl Abyss... though when you do, I hope you reply on the threads that youll be reporting so the posters know.

Welcome you two, lovely to see additions to the team after a few had to take their leave last year

My only question for the two of you will be, do you have any plans for adding more and clearer communication between the CM team and the community?

- Starting out after the western release we had Q and A's with both CMs and Devs, to elaborate on some of the gamechages we saw, new content etc. and it gave feeling that the community feedback as actually listened to and heard. Later on this connection felt like it got lost, and frankly after several topics were overreacted uppon by the community, it seemed like the CMs just stopped bothering even trying to open up for communication again.

Then at Gamescom we had the lovely BDO panel, but in German only. I must be honest and say that was such a big let down for me atleast. I would like to get included in the news, the debates, and the hype around new content or whatever it might be. And there are so many different platforms and options. Yet we are stuck in a situation with a community who have the pitchforks ready at the sight of an official post before finish reading it, and CMs only posting patchnotes and barely having a feeling for the community apart from on this sorta messy forum.

Last but not least, a big shoutout to all the BDO streamers on twitch.tv who day after day entertain, showcase and enlight new & old players about BDO and really create a lovely gaming community, those are the unsong heroes who have keep the (twitch) community together where the CMs previously have been lacking.

But heres to a new start, new faces, and new hope. Welcome!

I understand what you mean, and thank you to share your concerns.

We just want to make sure you know this guys: we constantly report to devs, but you may have to consider that unfortunately, most of the times devs can't do what we suggest right away for too many reasons. We try not to promise anything until we are 200% sure it will happen, in order to manage expectations and disappointment. Because we are always on your side and we know what players wish because we are players too. That is why we ask for some understanding, patience and support from your side, as we try our best to make everything smoothier and functional.
That being said, we moved here to improve the communications and that is a promise, but we can't always promise that "What you say, we report it, they do it, you have it". There is an ocean between each step, but we can keep pushing our limits thanks to your support.

Thank you again, your opinion is really important to us.

Ok now seriously,
Guys I want to make sure
that you know I'm here to be here, this means I won't leave you. If you have patience I promise I'll do my best to be helpful and knowledgeable in order to improve our sense of "togetherness". So I hope we can have good times altogether, and thanks to all of you, we will try to change things within our possibilities.

I'm sure you will do your best, but I also think doing your best won't change a thing. Anyway, thanks for trying and see you in few months for the (null) results.

Now that you're there though, dare to explain us why the duration of NW was changed to 2h since nobody else in your team seems to know? It was bad before, and now with the change to the flag of determination, it only gets worse. Thank you very much.

Oh and, welcome aboard!

I think most of us would rather have a sincere apology if promises are made but not kept than complete radio silence.

No, the "plans change" tweet bullshit excuse you gave for no Nouver in september isn't a sincere apology, it's an insult.

Fist of all, welcome to you.
I am confident that you will do your best to get things moving in the right direction.

What worries me most is : What can the EU community change in the game?
Maybe i'm wrong, do we have stats on how many suggestions (around 11k topics yet from inter) have been implemented in the game?

 NEWS ABOUT NW

Welcome new CM's!!!

Maybe someone respond now the questions that every staff member ignored before.

When NW got changed, 2 hrs was a better choice according to the data gathered by the devs at that time (guilds, players, etc). Nevertheless, when the servers were merged, this change had a different impact then what we expected. Despite this, we care about your feedback and, thanks to your concerns, the NW duration is now under review.
Once devs have all the new data at their disposal, we will let you know how and when this will be adjusted.

We apologise for the inconvenience this might have caused as we want you to enjoy this experience to the fullest!

Thank you so much for your patience.

Understandable. But do you CMs think that you are communicating too little atm. at the cost of not comming out with any promises you cant stick to? (simply asking because I am currious :) )

Also I have a question in regards to the Exp events/weekends. When we first started getting these lovely events, and thanks for those, we got told a timeframe as of when they would be activated and deactivated. Ever since it has almost never been true to those timeframes. One week it ends 9 in the morning, next week it ends at 10. Not to mention a few times they have been deactivated and not overlapping too well with weeklong events. It happends. But how come there is so "much" trouble with these events, if you can give a little insight on the matter. Have a great weekend, I for one will enjoy mine with pushing some levels (hopefully with an event)

Any anecdotes that I need to know?

Anything you need to know... 1: Be ready for headaches. Lots of them. 2: Be prepared for lots of complains and very little "positivity" from players/folks on the forums. 3: If you start to have lots of contact with the "community" on the forums, we'll expect you to keep it up, unlike some other folks who said they would be very active and then went basically radio silent beside patch notes and a thread every once a week or every two weeks :). 4: Please keep play the game. Employee's on a gaming company that doesn't even play the game/know what they're talking about is rather annoying to deal with. 5: Salt. Prepare for lots and lots of salt.

Exactly, we are going to avoid situations like that ^^

Ah, like "Nouver is CONFIRMED to be released before Christmas"? :)

Hello, everyone. First of all, thank you CM Aethon for your introduction. I am so excited to be a part of the BDO Team, especially since I am extremely passionate about this game!

I have been a gamer for over 12 years now. I could list all of the games I’ve played, but there are many, so I’ll give you a few of the highlights:

Aion

EU or NA Aion? :3
That passion will soon disappear once you get used to the forums I believe ^^. We're salty. Very very salty and energy draining. It's lots of work and little appreciation I think? :x

Lastly, welcome to both of you. Enjoy your time as CM's before you get tired of it ^^ (so.... 1-2 weeks? Since the playerbase isn't the most... "grateful" thing ever. Myself included :/. I tend to criticise a lot).

Both of them bring a wealth of experience in the industry and will be excellent additions to the team.

Then again, "wealth of experience in the industry" could honestly be a 18 year old who's played games since they were 8. That'd be "10 years in the industry" if you were to take it word for word, as the industry you're referring to is the "gaming" industry, no? So that's a pretty vague use of words.

I played NA Aion. And as for the passion, we value your feedback, your suggestions and your views on the game , no matter the manner in which is presented. :) I will personally strive to be active, however, know that even if I'm not responding, I am reading
