How much does this game cost?

34 posts in this topic

I'm not talking about the initial buy in. I'm asking about the mandatory cash shop items.

Also how viable is it to start now without someone to help me out?

Especially now - newcomers get alot of ingame cash for 'free' right now. Mandatory I'd say is the value pack. I believe 10E or 20m cash.

Almost every item in the cash shop will make you save and/or make silver faster(ingame currency), one way or another. You can dump thousands and thousands of money into it if you want.

Pets + weight limit are the most important imho. + value packs (15€ a month) if you can't snipe them.

There is nothing mandatory, only recommendable things like pets, VP, weight extensions. and outfits if u want more life skill profits.

So, If u want that luxury u are fine with 80$ at the begining and If u dont mind camping at the MP for the valuepack u ll need 15$/month.

I bought all this things and dont regret it, since the game is awesome and im fine with supporting it.

To your second question: I started alone. I still prefer to stay solo and got over average stats as a casual gamer. So its viable to play alone since this game got a lot single player content.

depends on prople to people i guess.

4 pets, 200lt weight increase and 1 transaction maid,

80 bucks to last you lifetime in game.

Incidently, thats pretty much how much ive spent on the game in 8 months xD

What about the currency you get from just playing? As far as I can remember you could trade it in for inventory space and weight?

I'm really not prepared to pay 80€+ just to not get get heavily inconvenienced nor am I willing to pay a monthly 15€ sub.

this game will cost you over 100 bucks if you want to have fun in the end, inventory space, carry weight and even the looks of your character are limited.
You will always look like a broke ass fool if you don't buy yourself a nice costume/outfit for 20$. You will always lose out of space if you're not buying yourself some inventory slots (which imo are expensive as -----). You will never be able to carry that much if your carry weight is not high enough. Whats left? If your horse skills sucks you can reset them by buying a reset skill. If you die due pvp or whatsoever you can buy yourself some tears to not lose your exp you just lost by dying and insta revive you. Buy yourself a horse flute to call your horses which people who don't buy that flute have not. Buy a fishing suit and you can swim as fast as a boat. Theres so much stuff in this store it's not even convience, it's a fking must to have.

WeNeedMoneyAsFastAsPossibleOnline.

Stay at sea kids, stay fishing and play something else thats actually worth your $$

$15/month value pack

$20: At least  200 weight per character

$40: 4 pets

It's a monthly sub MMO with a cash shop with mandatory items!

As always people like to exaggerate.

I've been buying one pet so far and BDO has plenty of events which will also give you pets for free. I don't consider weight increase as mandatory (those are also buyable with Loyalties and are also obtainable by various items) nor inventory size increase.

For simply playing and enjoying the game, you don't have to buy anything beside the base game. I'd plan to spend 10$ on a pet and that's it.

Pets are 100% mandatory, there is no arguing this.

4 pets for $40 and buying the game for $10 should be enough to enjoy it to the fullest. The problem comes with the value pack...I feel it's borderline mandatory, but it's up to you. It gives you so much for $15/month(really $20 every other month and $10 every other)

You can buy the game and play just fine without all the garbage others told you pets can be purchase of market ,weight with loyalty  , value packs are just a fluff and you can do just fine without.

PS: You could try the game free for 7 days and see how things are.

80 to 100 bucks will get you most of the super-convenient items you'll want.

You are able to get weigh increases and inventory slots vial loyalty, but it's going to take a while.

If you want to, you can play the game just with the initial purchase and just slowly build up with what you can afford with loyalty or buying pets/costumes/Value Pack from the marketplace.

You absolutely want to have a pet asap, though. Particularly if you are the kind of player who wants to rush to 50+ and go to Mediah to farm. Picking up loot yourself will slow you down considerably.

Other than that, it's very much a matter or how much patience you have to deal with the "inconveniences" the game throws your way.

Pets are mandatory so $40 for them, and weight limit, but that increases with your combat level (60 is becoming the new meta so you should end up with close to 700 or 800 weight base weight limit) not to mention u can buy using loyalties, as well as a value pack, belts, and gems to increase your max weight, and if you're desperate you can increase it further by carrying a trade pack around town while you're sleeping irl. The final things u need are inventory slots which u can quest for and value packs (as mentioned before) which your can buy off the marketplace along with costumes.

NOTHING is mandatory. Yes, you will have a TREMENDOUSLY easier time purchasing certain items through the cash shop. But, unless you are an extremely hardcore player, you do NOT have to purchase anything with cash and can still enjoy the game, contrary to some people's beliefs. I know I'm going to have people on my tail for this, but it's the truth, whether they want to believe it or not.

Well... in parties you'll have all your loot taken unless you change the loot mode (which only the party leaders can do) and even then you risk being kicked due to the fact you'll be too busy looting to help kill anything. Let's not talk about party grinding though, you'll spend most your time on the solo grind. On double exp weekend when people are scouring for places to grind, if they see you spending an obscene amount of time in 1 spot, they won't hesitate to kill you or dec (and repeatedly kill you) and steal your grinding area. Then there are the exp gain rates. All the time you spend picking up loot could be spent clearing more mobs, it may not seem like a big deal but when you're using your 200% buff or other exp buffs that time adds up. I should have clarified earlier though, while it isn't "mandatory" you'll have a HUGE handicap without pets.

Eastern MMOs tend to always be like this. BDO is not an exception, P2W elements have literally gotten worse since launch, and there will be no end to it. Even though it is buy-to-play, it has endless amount of shady "convenience" cash grabs into it.

I'm looking forward to Crowfall and Ashes of Creation myself.
