Node War Mechanic Suggestion

4 posts in this topic

Hi all, not sure if this idea has been considered already but I was trying to think of ways to really promote a competitive node war scene across more guilds. This is just an opinion, if you wish to constructively argue the pros & cons on this thread, please go ahead!

What if, guilds could only fight for nodes that directly linked to the size of their roster. For example

Smaller Guilds (Up to 40 members) can only fight for Tier 1 Nodes. (41+ could not build a fort).

Medium Guilds (41-70 members) can only fight for Tier 2 Nodes. (Below and above the member limit could not build a fort).

Large Guilds (71+ members) can only fight for Tier 3. (70 or below could not build a fort).

I suggest all guilds can still compete for Siege Wars.

Do you guys think this would be fun/promote a more competitive PvP scene?

Big guilds getting steamrolled by alliance would just split in 2 guilds to participate in lower tier.

If there wasn't so many useless small guilds maybe there wouldn't be alliance monopoly, and then big guilds wouldn't show up in tier 1.

You are just promoting the removal of "social" guilds dabbling a bit in everything (not that I like that kind of structure but it's not my business what other people likes). Roster size is irrelevant, some guilds can be 100/100 and only field 20 people for NW.

You can also go to a tier that is relevant to your size/power and get gang banged by every other guilds on that node, which is basically exactly the same thing as facing a larger guild when you're a smaller one. So would the next step be to find a mechanic disallowing alliances ?

It won't promote anything else than free nodes for some and/or the splitting of some guilds. To have a fun pvp scene we just need more guilds trying to build a fort and fight for it. On the spot alliances and old friendship will sort everything else.

According to your numbers Enemy could not go for T3. Ember could not a couple weeks ago. Amount of member can never be the measurement.

A dynamic system that rewards a guilds success in Node- / Conquest War makes more sense in my eyes. +/- Points for each participated activity which would work like the House Fame. Factors could be gotten nodes, destroyed structures, K/D ratio. You get the idea. And to participate in T2/ T3 you need X amount of Guild Fame.
