What triggers the start of the 30 days on the returning player server?

Just curious. I plan on returning soon after being gone for about 6 months, and I play an making a DK.  If I log in to the character select and create one now, does that start the process, or do I actually have to log into the game world on a channel in order to start the 30 day countdown on the xp server?  Is there anything official on this?

Thanks

logging into the game on the account that has been gone for 30 days +

i think

just play it safe and uninstall bdo for the time being and wait until DK's official release to reinstall ;)

I'm waiting for my 30 days. There is really no reason to play if you're not on the Olvia channel. The advantage is too great.

yep them channels are a joke, lets face facts your better off not playing 30 days then returning for a month olivia channels exp grindwise than grinding first 30 days.

Except you miss out on 1-4b in silver for those 30 days not playing. Gear is more of a limiting factor than getting to level 59.

Does anyone happen to know where I can find the patch notes that have the details of the olvia channel? I can't remember when it went live.

It went live after server merge in December.

So it looks like if I am returning after 30 days and I start with a DK at lvl 1, i'll only be able to access the normal channels until I hit lvl 30, and once I hit lvl 30 I'll have access to the xp channel?

Honestly those channels can be hit or miss, they are SO packed in all grinding areas. Despite the bonus exp it still can be slower than a normal server just due to the population.

I have no idea.

However, to answer the first question, I would consider logging in to the server (even if you don't actually log in to a channel) to trigger the 30 days. I say that because a while back I started creating a Maewha on one of the other servers, but got stuck at picking a name for her, and when the servers merged I got a bunch of compensation thingies from the second server, even though I didn't ever play on it.

This is what I'm finding. I have like 26 more days left on my Olvia channel and honestly, most days I don't find it worth while to even level on there. Every area is absolutely overflowing with people, and the extra XP I get is not offset by the limited number of mobs I have available to me.

I cannot say I share the OP's sentiment. It's a great little bonus, but it has a lot of limits in its own right that make it more worth it for me to just play continuously into the future than to just stop playing every 30 days.

What was you grinding?  I was grinding Valencia and Pirates and they were pretty empty and if they weren't empty it was quickly followed by a group invite, people are nice on those channels, that was my experience with it.
