once you get your first skill addon, use mana-reg add-on for dream of doom and you're good

before that, 'Q' early, 'Q' often to keep up mana

If you do what @n1ghty suggested you can manage your MP very well in PvE with little effort,  PvP is a little more difficult because you have to hit multiple enemies for DoD to be a useful MP regen

Depends, if you want to go full leeroy jenkins on grinding then yeah 150 XL mana pots + skill add on for DOD
If you want to round them up with mark of shadow & hold them with blade of darkness e.t.c. then below you will hardly use any.

Basically, depends if you want to be efficent or not, is what you're saying...

I guess that most people want to be efficent, so they'll use pots :)

As long as we are talking about normal grinding, I think you can be very efficient with DoD and the mp reg add-on without using any pots.

- it doesnt only refill your MP but also up to 30 shards (which you need anyway)

- it does decent damage in a big area

- using C after DoD is an animation-cancel for Violation

Just make sure your DoD hits many mobs and not just 2-3. Also try to not use it with 100%, it wont restore as much MP as the normal one. Shards should be mainly used for double violation, the second move enables stamina regeneration so you can spam Violation more often. I almost never use Q-buff for grinding...

Single mobs or PvP is a different story. You cant rely on DoD for mp reg here, so pots are highly recommended. Spamming Q is possible vs bosses for example, but its not that efficient.

That moment you thought you knew everything & then realise you were doing it wrong, was doing DOD into MS, C hoping for upwards proc... TY

oh, actually thats not bad either. You have to wait until the end of the DoD animation to use C, so its much slower than DoD -> MS. But using C after DoD is probably easier to use and will do the same upward slash animation as MS -> C for quick Violation.

yeah but MS doesnt always hit for the Proc, DOD will hit giving it to you, was messing around with both last night before i posted thinking theres no way DOD to C was better..... But situational it is!
suppose i better try to explain it, to go MS to C you need to be at the end of the MS animation for it to work, alot of the time you end up hitting rushing crow transition anyway & so if DOD, MS, C has a delay so you can hit a diff mob or pack change not the most ideal thing, but DOD, MS, RC, (shift) violation works well if you're at a distance or swapping mobs, but your method works great for close to the mobs grinding which is what i mostly do.

Just use S+C after MS to go into a block->violation. i like to use instant DoD->right click(animation cancels the DoD)->shift+a/d->fast grimreaper
