Daylight saving time - Node and Siege War times changing

35 posts in this topic

If this change is to 9 pm EDT (which would be normal node war time ) then It would cut out a lot of east coast people with jobs (some starting at 10 pm EDT to the ever popular 9-5 with kids crowd), if it is to 8 pm EDT then more east coast have a change to participate and for more time as normal 9pm EDT mostly caters to west coast people (non Alaska that is).

As I suggested like 8-9 months ago before wars even started why not have regions start at different times? 1-2 regions at 8pm and 1-2 regions at 9 and one at 10? That way more people can get involved.

That's cute.. but really, you should go research that bullshit before spewing it out.
Most jobs are 9 to 5. This will affect most players in a negative way and unlike you, he's not complaining because it will impact him. He is complaining because it will impact the majority of players for no reason. It's not like anything changes because of daylight saving time... Except you get one hour more sleep for one night.

Instead of being stupid, how about you in the future think a bit further than just yourself.

lol what?

I literally was telling this dude to think about everyone instead of assuming the other person has the same situation as him. How thick-headed are you? You are whining because it throws off the schedule for 2 weeks. I think you all will survive. And seeing as the node wars are still filled with players I am assuming that "most" players aren't working 9 to 5 jobs. 9 to 5 jobs aren't as common in 2017 .... I mentioned DST because that is the cause of the time change for node wars, didn't say it affected anything else. Honestly congrats cause you confused me to the point that I don't even get what you were trying to get across.

Instead of being an ignorant POS try reading the thread before responding and sounding like a half-brained mongoloid. Have fun at your 9 to 5 mcdonalds job.

Didn't NA have to deal with the EU change come winter a week before NA changed?  And now we are dealing with EU changing back 2 weeks behind NA?  Why exactly do they need to be tied together?  Why since NA changed first didn't EU just have to deal with the change like we did?

As long as the times are being adjusted it's fine, I just think it's rather dumb to keep them tied together and force one region to wait on another to fix the times.

Well it's not just me, but there's plenty of people legit in west coast US, like Seattle, or Portland, or California, who have over 1 hour commute from work. They leave at 5 PM, and are still in traffic at 6 PM. They really need that extra hour to show up.

I mean, you have your average gamer dad, who works for a living and puts hard earned money into BDO, and every day he has to drive home through THIS:

Website-Traffic.jpg

Do we really want Steve the Dad to hurry up through this traffic and risk his life and leave his wife a widow and his children orphans over a node war?

I'm in no way trying to refute this. I live in LA and commute the 101 and if you know anything about that freeway well... yah..... haha. The issue is that the changes are not really changing anything prior to daylight savings time. The fact is is that what the times changed for us was 6pm node wars became 7pm node wars because of daylight savings time, so now the times are being back to reverted to what they were prior to the time change thus I don't see the potential discrepancy here. Unless you mean you just want the node wars to remain prolonged 1 hour longer and stay @ 7pm in which case this may screw over many east coast individuals that try to sleep early for their early morning jobs. (node wars starting at 10pm for them and stemming to midnight).

(converted for Alaska this would be the 5pm to 6pm scenario then reverted back to 5pm, still iffy on DST in Alaska.) for reference Alaska is UTC -09:00. Hawaii is UTC -10:00 and the rest of the U.S. "West Coast" is UTC -08:00

Here's a crazy idea? Go Shadowbane route. Let the node owner determine when it goes live? So the defender guild can be assembled in its fullest! Crazy huh?

Back to 9pm EST like it was before, instead of 10pm EST. Not sure what the problem is, this is just reverting it back to the way it was before. 9pm EST, 8pm CST, 6pm PST.

10pm-12am EST node wars is horrible for East Coast, and then siege until like 1am. I have to wake up hours after node war ends for class next day with the current schedule.

Yes some people work/have school up until that time on West Coast but this is how it was before anyways. :/
