Feedback from freetrial, combat needs a revamp

I would make this my go to mmo...except the problem is the combat. Its chaotic, messy, and too easy...no substance really.

Just giving this feedback because I enjoyed lots of other aspects of the game, but the combat is ruining it. Combat is just one step away from being autocombat, its that easy. Just spam the same attack over and over.

Such a shame because the game good in many other aspects.

And its not a sandbox game, stop calling it that.

The character customization...is wow, impressive.

From this comment I can see, that you haven't played pretty far into the game.

At start, yeah you just need one or two attacks, that's right.

But after you get past level 50 or 51 and get to the higher spots you need more skills to kill monsters effectively.....well if you're not a ranger or witch/wizard tbh xD

And PvP is by far another story.

But in the end everything is gear and level dependant so the higher your gear and level gets, the less skills you need to grind effectively but that's another story.

I think the combat works quite well in this game.

But this are just my 2 cents about this

Lmao this game has the best combat of any MMO out there, that's honestly fact not opinion. You should try getting past level 40 because that's all basically still tutorial.

The combat doesn't get any more difficult till you do the tier 4 areas. Valencia.

Unfortunately there's little to no point in doing them so the combat will remain to be brain dead easy for your entire play through if you play 'effectively'

That's not to say difficult mobs don't exist

I still remeber the first time came across the shadow of gahaz. Thinking she's another brain dead mob... she teleported behind me, did sadow eruption to knock me down and then shard explosion.....

The other 'good mobs' that we were supposed to kill were other players, but a year out abs the game has changed sui that it is pretty much pointless to do so.

Most areas were made easier, so newbies can cath up faster... Thx for that to QQers... If you want harder combat fight purple mobs...

In PvP you wont even scratch your opponent with spamming one ability, unless we are talking about old sorc/ranger... Not even mentioning killing them...

You are right even at higher lvls you really only have one rotation that you spam for pve.. And yes it does become a bit of a cluster----- with the animations as it tends to all roll into one epic mess when you animation cancel half of your stuff. But it is another ball game, when you get into the pvp aspect. If your not a pvper then i can understand your gripe... it is lacking. Such beautiful detail went into the animations of weapon swap and some of the combos and it gets lost.

Mind you most of the people that will reply to you, are hard core fanatics... dare i say. almost as bad as wow players. And have a very narrow one tract vision. So expect some back lash from your post.

Combat in this game is just grind. It is just repead same buttons all the time and try endure this flashes and colorful trash on the screen.
In PvP 50% is gear, 20% lvl, 20% class, 10% skill if you can call it this way since all PvP looks like CC->kill because of completly broken AP and useless DP.

Fact is combat system of BDO is far behind other games with action combat system like Tera, Vindictus or B&S.

No facts here, only opinion.

Combat system is decent. There are faults, same as any other MMO.

The character/player combat is beyond spectacular.

What needs work are the mobs. Their hits are decent, but they move around like decaying tortoise zombies.

Black Desert would feel a lot more alive and dynamic if mobs simply moved at regular human speed.

Considering all the "it will become better at 50/56" posts, he seems to know better than most actually.

Lol thinks he knows the game after a week..

Just picked a few quotes about the issue i want to discuss, The new player experience is important, now some people might have a week to invest into a boring game in the hopes it eventually becomes fun, but why should anyone do that? there are hundreds of games of all genres about, a lot of cheap sales and free to plays.

it isn't his good fortune and privilege to play this game its the other way around , the game needs new players. the game needs to make efforts to be accessible to attract and keep new players.

I usually frown on the my way or the highway, forum comments that tell people to leave, play another game but in your case OP, find another game. If you drew conclusions getting to level 10 killing grass beetles on Olvia, decided the combat is the weak link you won't be around long enough to  gain any entertainment from the game in any case.

PVE combat in BDO isnt about having hard time fighting with common mobs. It is about speed, how many mobs you kill per certain amount of time. Try to master that (but you wont get too far by using only one combat ability).

That´s the ideal situtation for a game, yes. But considering people usually comes from tab targeting games I tend to see them as biased towards those combat mechanics. Since BDO is not you average game which will hold your hands at all times telling you where to go and what to do people tend to get confused and easily bored since they can't think for themselves. You can´t expect people to like every game they come across, which makes bdo no exception to that rule, however. If they actually took the time to try out all the different characters, the awakening system and the lifeskill system before opening their mouths it would make for a much better and reliable review of the game. But since they come onto the forum (which is made out of the most salty people) and spew and few lines telling people that the combat system is not good enough when they haven't even done anything good enough of an achievement I don´t see a problem with people just blatantly telling them to piss off since they are the ones being intrusive and disrespectfull.

Some of u responded in a similar way like this. The answer is no thx. If u present to me a boring game I will delete it, find another game thats fun instead. There is enough games out there, no problem finding a game thats good. If u actually think im gonna endure BDO grind until I get lvl 50...U and me have different standards.

Do this game have other content than common mobs (and laggy bosses with random AoE that kill all melee around)? What is good with game about speed of killing mobs? It only lead to DPS classes faworism and shallowing of the gameplay.
