Some help...please

So I was trying to by a weapon/outfit through chat/marketplace for a few days. One night, a player gifted me many many outfits and I was stunned. Well, I just got an email from QM Dew, It has come to our attention that you have received some gifts from a player called ........ After a thorough investigation, it unfortunately turns out that these gifts were not sent through legitimate methods, and therefore we have removed them from your inventory. We have also taken appropriate actions against the player in question who sent these gifts. Can someone explain to me how this happened? Hack or something? Thanks for your time.

Probably stolen credit card or someone logged into another persons account to use up all his pearls.

Stolen Credit Card -> Purchased Pearls -> Purchased Cash Shop Items -> Gifted them to you.

Kakao probably got a stolen credit card flag and traced the transaction and "zeroed" out everything related to it.

Thanks for the answers. Here I was thinking I ran in to the most generous player ever ( I even told the player that) only to find out they were a thief.
