sadly i didnt post the min requirments, those where the recommended and my pc isnt even that it's passed the recommended.

http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri/requirements/black-desert-online/13039

You're just one of the lucky people, but the majority of people playing the game get horrible fps throughout the game and HELLISH fps in cities, i'm gonna stop complaining before i get in trouble >_>

Lucky? I built my PC myself. Spent a good bit on it, but I don't think luck had anything to do with it. There are numerous posts on how to improve FPS that myself and others have contributed to. I tinkered with settings for months before getting it to where I'm "happy" with it. You may try looking into those...or...

I don't know your system specs, but I'd be happy to help go over them with you to discuss where you could improve.

Also, complain all you like. Honestly. Freedom of speech. :) I'll be happy to help you improve, if I can.

I would love to see your whole settings for Black Desert run so smooth, my fps drops in heidel to 15-20 on gtx 1070

There is an update coming to KR to improve performance in areas where alot of players are present.

But in general you need high specs on not only GPU but CPU/fast memory/fast SSD/NVME.

You're losing frames in populated areas due to CPU bottle neck.  In open areas you are losing frames due to GPU, while moving on a fast horse you are losing frames from both GPU and SSD speed and how fast they load the terrain.

This is one reason why my new build is using a Kaby lake CPU as it can reach very high single thread clock speeds of 5.0-5.2 Ghz.  Then throw in 32 gigs of ram at 3200Mhz and a 1080ti with NVME.  I think I will have a solid performing system.

I currently hit around 120 frames open world with a haswell at 4.5 GHz / 16 gigs at 2800 Mhz / 980ti / and Samsung 940 Evo.  In town I get around 45-50 fps.  this is while looking at something like hediel storage where everyone is processing or fishing.  Thats with everything on highend mode included.

You never will.

You actually can but you need a very high end PC to achieve this.

Also people probably dont realize that if you go for 4k you will need a beast GPU.  Because CPU isn't always the bottle neck.  Your GPU still has to render everything lol.... at double the resolution.

Yeah, i can tell you from my own experience that this game is incredibly unoptimized. Pretty sure that's a rule-of-thumb that everyone knows playing this game, lol.

However, with that being said -- your laptop really isn't the issue at play. A lot of these people on this thread don't understand how far laptops have become in the last 2 years. They are now able to hold full GPUs inside them thanks to NVIDIA's 10 series. Its smaller, more compact, and was made for laptops. The ones that are coming out, used in the 1080TI, are for actual, full sized GPUs.

One other thing that i neglect to mention is that while your laptop has a good GPU, the processor bottlenecks it. They don't really tell you that with certain laptop models/manufacturers. So with that in mind, you're going to have bigger micro stutters than most with the same GPU. Not that it really matters, though. Its better than having an i5 and be completely oblivious to the bottlenecking. :P

Don't fret, though. I'm running on a 980ti with a i7 4790k processor, and i get 20-30 FPS when its highly congested during the day in cities. I get around 30+ the rest of the time in cities, while outside - it ranges from 50-90 FPS. I don't have high-end mode checked, though. I just can't wait for the optimization patches that'll soon come. It'll get better, but in all-due's time.

I didn't try everything, but i did do the card settings and they helped a bunch.

i get a solid 40-50 frames on high on my i5 desktop w a GTX1060. if im recording arena 1v1s it's a solid 60.

good luck.

i7 4770, 1060 6gb , 20fps in heidel 1v1 arena, teach me senpai. :(

I just copied the settings for my nvidia control panel from the reddit post i linked. There are a ton more tweaks in there that i haven't got around to testing too.

I should mention that i'm only running the game, and either discord or a music player. No google chrome or anything like that.

but yeah, smooth 60 in heidel 1v1 arena when recording at 1080p (youtube will only show it at 720p for some reason, but its a 1080p file on my pc)
