What is the better awakening weapon for PvE

7 posts in this topic

Posted (edited)

Hello

So i was wondering, between the different awakening weapns, the dandelion is ofcourse the best one. But between the other two (name is different for all weapons so i'll call them the 'always green' and the 'potential ultimate'), which one is the best for PvE? The always green one has lower AP but has extra damage against all species, and the potential ultimate has higher AP but only extra dmg against humans. The potential ultimate is obviously better for pvp, but what about PvE?

You sorta answered your own question. Essentially in grind spots where they are non-human mobs (pretty much anywhere other than Pirates, Sausans, and Gahaz) it's a wash between a TRI green and a TRI ulti. If you're a newer player with lesser gear, you probably are not going to want to deal with the PVP situation at Pirates or even at Gahaz these days and the green is a great weapon for all those other camps such as Bashims, Fogans, Cadry, Hasrah, Elrics, and so on. If you're going to do minimal PVP and plan to just grind away, it would be totally acceptable to stick with a TRI green until you get a Dandelion and upgrade it.

so in other words, the diffrence is very minor but the ultimate one is probably the better one?

Unless I have a dande for the class(usually I don't) I always go with the blue weapon. Higher base AP, and extra damage to humans. Because even if you don't plan to pvp, it's going to end up finding you anyways.

Ironically, the PVP usually finds you at the camps where you'd want to use the ultimate weapon - Pirates, Gahaz, Sausans. If you're taking advantage of your green awakened weapon by grinding fogans, cadry, bashims, crescents and the like the PVP will be rare. At least in my experience. The few times I run into PVP at these spots I can just swap channels and find my rotation open 95% of the time.

That's true, there's usually more pvp at the popular grind spots. But on the weekends (when I'm more able to play) pretty much most of the good spots anywhere are taken. Had to fight a lot more people than usual lately, and since PvE guilds can now be dec'd on, it's either learn to defend yourself, or lose the spot.

Green doesn't have lower AP. Maybe on the same enchant level, but as you can enchant green MUCH easier, you will very likely get a higher green than you would get a blue, for your silver.

Generally I think the "best" weapon is the cheapest one that does the job during the transition time where you don't have the Dandelion yet.
