Why does Valencia suck?

Valencia is great, because the bulk of lazy players never make it past Sand Grain Bazaar.

I find it to be a bonus.

Make Valencia mobs give at minimum the same exp and silver/hr (dependant on ap) as pirates. Mobs past sand grain should give more.

A few weeks old but I actually really enjoy Valencia.   If it was jam-packed it would not be as fun.  The dangers of soloing out there are exciting and a breath of fresh air compared to the boring easy grinds which are so dull they make people take breaks from the game instead of exploring everything this game really has to offer which is a lot more than many seem to realize!

Tldr :

-meh grindspots

-useless small towns

-owpvp bandit life is a joke

-too far

-not rewarding enough for the gear required.

If they want to reduce traffic from pirates and sausans they gotta do more buffs like they did to Gahaz but even better.

totally agreed, they should have just left heidel, sausan, pirates in the game everywhere else is irrelevant. Game map is too huge atm and it feels too much like a single player game if you go outside of any of the 3 places^. Should have left it like the calpheon days where the map was small, gvg happened and was exciting. Really stupid game design

Valencia is beautiful and all but it's badly designed. When you're 56, Mediah mobs are green at best, Valencia mobs are red. Even in the "56-57" areas. Some of them hit like trucks. And generally speaking they don't give enough exp and drops to justify that.

There should have been a better transition from Mediah to Valencia, and an adjustement of the reward vs strength of mobs. Whatever you want to put in "strength", damage, hp, cc, numbers...

For the record I -----ing love Valencia. 6 of my 7 alts are there now that theres a night vendor by the inn. I enjoy that theres a place I can go that isn't so crowded and filled with noob life skillers. I choose to grind sulfur mines and Pila Ku at lvl 58 because no one is there to take my mobs. Very enjoyable!

I mostly stay in Cadry It has really nice rotations, and the money isn't too shabby. Not sure how much people get from pirates, but at Cadry I can get about 16 mil an hour (without killing elites). At 57 I get about 5% xp an hour with tea/costume/pets/gems. Also I am mostly a casual player, so I like that I don't have to travel far from town to xp there. There is also a Villa right next to it that you can get +10 AP and skill xp bonus, which is nice.

I grind at cadrys. I don't think I make that much... Level 59 warrior with 218 ap. Are you a wizard??

I like the desert item drops are pretty rare tho and I can farm crescents faster then they spawn people like pirates cause of mob density

57 DK with 207 AP(kutum). in about an hour i get 40ish weapons, 3k vendor trash, 5-10 black stones, and about 12 ancient scrolls. I seem to get those yellow assault crystals frequently too which are 2-3 mil each. I think a majority of income at Cadry comes from the ancient scrolls, so it is all up to the RNG gods, but 12 an hour is pretty good. I am rank 10 node too.

With all due respect, to all those people who say that it's good Valencia is empty. You may like it that way, but the truth is spoken by the statistics. People just don't have a good reason to go there. I know that desert should be empty and harsh, but it should compell players to come, coz with high risk comes high reward. I really like the desert, but the vast majority of the playerbase is still grnding, questing in other regions. It should not be like that, in my opinion.

They should give players more reasons to go there and possibly make it their home.

Risk vs. Reward in Valencia (and Kama) is completely out of balance when compared against Pirates (or Sausan).

Would I rather...

  1. Farm Pirates
    1. Great Experience
    2. Nearly zero risk of death with good gear, even when the servers are taking a crap
    3. Great profit (Silver/Coins/Tokens)
  2. Farm Anything in Valencia
    1. Moderate to Ok Experience, often held back for most players by their TTK. Many of the places that give higher experience in turn give less profit.
    2. Almost anything in Valencia can kill you if the servers take a crap, which they've been doing more recently.
    3. Moderate to Ok profit, but higher profits tend to come with lower experience
    4. Low chance of getting a gold accessory drop that is devalued from it's maximum value by a developer who constantly gives them away in free monthly boxes

It's an easy choice. If you have the strength to hold a pirate grind spot, you are given a more balanced reward for that grind verse the Valencia grind spots. There isn't a single grind spot in Valencia that is going to give you the same income AND experience as Pirates if you have moderate to average player gear. The problem with Valencia has always remained the same, but they've never actually fixed it.

I agree with nearly everything u said especially:

4.Low chance of getting a gold accessory drop that is devalued from it's maximum value by a developer who constantly gives them away in free monthly boxes

This is realy a joke every nub can get tungrad earing without even knowing how to obtain ingame = Realy bad gamedesign.

I dont agree with the experience part.

After 60 and 61 Valancia ExP especially Pila is faster then Pirates also no spot fights.

(only counts for Wizard cant talk about  other classes)

57 DK with 207 AP(kutum). in about an hour i about 12 ancient scrolls.

what are u smokeing?

Low xp rates.

0 to nothing money farming.

Bad karma system.

Sunstroke bullshit every 1 second.

No navigation. Utterly useless since its not for RP or somekind of gameplay logic.

Bad design overall in a game that tends to be called Pirate grind Online. At least in the weekends...

My god, what you write is total exaggeration. Even with kamasilva blessings this is pure exaggeration.
I have leveled my tamer from 58-60 at cadry's. Now I level my lvl 57 DK at cadry's. I also have node 10 and I only once had instance when in period of 1h I dropped something around 10-12 scrolls. Average drop rate is around 3-4 scrolls per hour.
40 green weapons per hour ?? That's total bullshit.

What a load of crap and whines... I recently returned to BDO and you know what ?

Valencia is just fine !

It was fine at release.... it is even better now with spots 2.0 and boss' mobs... and PILA KU.

"no loot" in valencia ? Yeah right... mostly BiS... but let's ignore that...

No exp ? yeah right that's how I did lvl 57-59 in less than a month without nolifing...

I really didn't miss the "make the game how I want it " bandwagon.

I have to back him up on that, you're using gambling syllogisme to say his total drop can't happen.

RNG does not look at what you previously obtain or the time of day or other factors that we think can't impact it.

The probability is slim, but a slim probability doesn't mean null.

You can a long streak of good luck or no luck at all in this matter.

The increased drop rate do help in a sense as it reduce the no drop wall probability that wouldn't allow a rng drop.

Why valencia sucks?

Water/tea to survive debuff.

No map ... freaking long travel from one point to another and you can easly get lost.

You can't afk travel ... basically you cant go afk for more than few minutes becasue random desert debuff can kill you.

Experiance sucks compared to other spots big time ... there is just not enough monsters.

Drops from mobs are pure crap. Rare drops are freaking myth at this point, trash loot is to cheap, black stones are scares .... its just awful.

Bottom line ... not worth it ... anyone who is leveling/grinding there do it becasue its not as crowded and contested as lets say pirates and prefer to grind in peace for a fraction of money/exp.

Also no random grind parties .... you are basically solo there 24/7.

Just because there are no sausan mobs, it doesn't mean that an area is useless. You need to expand your horizon a bit.

Water/tea to survive debuff.

Get a few water. Even NPC sells it. What's the problem exactly?

No map ... freaking long travel from one point to another and you can easly get lost.

Nobody needs a map, it's not a maze. One huge open area, impossible to get lost. Want to go east? Just go east. Are in Valencia and want get back? Just go west. What's the problem? You must have the IQ of a potato to get lost there. Minimap is a constant compass.

You can't afk travel ... basically you cant go afk for more than few minutes becasue random desert debuff can kill you.

You can't AFK travel anywhere safely, thieves might pop up, in Ocean the ghost ship etc... Complaining that you can't do active stuff AFK is a joke.

Experiance sucks compared to other spots big time ... there is just not enough monsters.

There is, but people only know how to grind Sausans apparently. So they go to Sausan to share those "enough monsters" amongst 20 people. That's better, right?

Drops from mobs are pure crap. Rare drops are freaking myth at this point, trash loot is to cheap, black stones are scares .... its just awful.

Bottom line ... not worth it ... anyone who is leveling/grinding there do it becasue its not as crowded and contested as lets say pirates and prefer to grind in peace for a fraction of money/exp.

Yes, only Sausan and Pirates is worth it. Until you notice that every dumbass has the same genius idea, and then goes to forum and whine because there are too many people.

Why valencia sucks?

Why valencia sucks?

Water/tea to survive debuff.
So? They are cheap and easy to get.
People wanted realistic shit and still cry when they get it.
Also it's kinda easy to just outlive the buff while grinding, i don't even notice the effect while grinding.
Also like 75% of Valencia grind spots doesn't even have the desert buff. (Only Fogans, Crescents and Nagas if i'm correct)

No map ... freaking long travel from one point to another and you can easly get lost.
Get a compass. If you don't have money for it you are doing something wrong in this game anyway.
Also this only counts for the desert area and not whole Valencia and if you have a brain you can remember how to walk easily.
And it's not like the desert is a maze...

You can't afk travel ... basically you cant go afk for more than few minutes becasue random desert debuff can kill you.
You can afk travel. Just not in the desert.
You can even ride semi-afk in the desert if you just press T while riding your mount and in the meanwhile you watch a YT video or something. (it's not like the feared desert debuff kills you instantly lul)

Experiance sucks compared to other spots big time ... there is just not enough monsters.
There are enough mobs.. did you even go Valencia more then 1 hour?
Also the exp is still pretty good even at lvl 60 you just need better gear. (Made 30% in 2,5 days bashims at lvl 60-61 exp weekend)

Drops from mobs are pure crap. Rare drops are freaking myth at this point, trash loot is to cheap, black stones are scares .... its just awful.
Not if you can kill at a good killspeed.
But ofcourse you want every mob to drop 3 trashloot items like sausans because the game must stay easy ofcourse lel.

Bottom line ... not worth it ... anyone who is leveling/grinding there do it becasue its not as crowded and contested as lets say pirates and prefer to grind in peace for a fraction of money/exp.

That's why Gahaz got crowded as ----- after the re-vamp?
That's why many people started playing Bashims after some1 made a video about how good the exp was?

Also no random grind parties .... you are basically solo there 24/7.
Because parties are not efficient. Most of the spawns are killed easily and if you go with a party you have to wait for respawn.
