Life Skill Quests

5 posts in this topic

Posted (edited)

So, I have been completing quest after quest, some give nice rewards, some give nothing.

Life skill quests are harder than ur average quest, you have to gather mats, fish, cook, alchemy, etc.

I am skilled certified on most of my life skills, and some of them are relentless, they add like 0.5-0.15% of total quests completed,

I am looking for someone else like me, or way ahead of me, to tell me other than the total quests completed %, is it worth doing these? does anybody else do them?

Hi Mistygun,

I am around your same profession, I rarely do quest. I do the ones that intrigues me, are along the items I would craft, and the one from the black spirit.

I mainly craft items on my own to level them up really.

First, sorry for m'y bad english :/.

Hum for me.. i have done knowledge quest for heating, etc. Concerning real lifeskill quest, you have quest every lvl of lifeskill like cooking alchemy or gathering. Gathering and processing are generally connected (gather this, then process it).

You also have repeatable quest for cooking, alchemy and gathering that give good reward. If you check your proposition of repeatable quests (on quest tab) you will see that for artisan and master cooking you have repeatable quest that give a good amount of contribution point.

I don't make them atm because I don't have the time but I think that it is in my goal.

For quest that give lifeskill exp, I haven't done them but some give good amount I think, but you HAVE TO make quest for your lifeskill level. If you are skilled, make skilled lvl quest, not apprentice. Then you will notice a difference.

Édit: For gathering and processing I think that there are less quest but you can get more exp from what you do. For processing, make a lot of fabrics item like flax, cotton, silks (item for clothes ). These items give the most profitable exp/item and take less time than minerals(like iron, steel..).

For gathering, you have so cap that unlock gathering for some item. I think that for stone like ruby, saphir,.. it's skilled 5, not sure. You have also on professional5 I think, if someone can confirm...

Ruby, saphir, can be find in cave, etc but you have also a stone called rainbow stone in elders fissure( don't remember the good name) just near the helms mob, these stone give rough stone but also a lot of stone like ruby.

You have also a mushroom that I have forgot the name that a lot of high level gather people farm, give good amount of exp.

Unless you're trying to meet some kind of quota to raise that certain skill, and you just gotta have that little bit of extra lifeskill xp? No, they're not really worth doing. But it is worth talking to the black spirit and going into the guide section for him, he'll tell you to talk to certain people to learn Heating, alchemy, etc. so you can advance in things that will be impossible to make unless you do these quests. In my opinion, those are the only lifeskill quests worth for you doing right now. Very important. If you need a guild that's willing to give out info and help you through things, check out the Soulmates recruit thread.

It's totally worth doing the life skill advancement quests. You get so many hard and sharp stones at the end.
