Thew new "GPU Low Power Mode" acts very strangely and defies logic

My experience with the new GPU Low Power mode has been very odd.

GPU Low Power Mode DISABLED:
GPU Power 100++%
Underclocks my GPU EVEN with K-Boost and "Prefer Maximum Performance" in NVCP Enabled
FPS ranges from 100-165 FPS out in the desert
Game feels VERY stuttery.  I have 100+ fps but feels like it's going 0, 100,0,100,0,100 etc.

GPU Low Power Mode ENABLED:
GPU Power 80-100%
Properly runs my GPU at maximum frequency (no undervolting)
FPS ranges from 80-120 fps out in the desert
Game feels much smoother

So basically with low power mode turned off my FPS is going up even though my graphics card is running slower?? What? Even if I force the GPU to run at 100% clock speed, it still down clocks.  And even though the FPS is going up it actually doesn't feel like it at all in game.  Tell me how this makes any sense.

Disabling that thing improved my performance a lot, actually.

O.o

EDIT:  testing this myself .... standing right in the middle of calpheon ...

16-18 fps while enabled,  75c  GPU temp     ///   16-18 fps while disabled,  75c  GPU temp

IOW,  no difference whatsoever in power draw or framerate

Happened the same to me, my GPU usage avgs in about 80% for BDO with it enabled, with ti disabled went to 100%, no change in temperature (waited a few mins to see, grinding, any change), and nothing, no FPS boost, no temp change, but more gpu usage.. :thinking:

same here. I tested it a lot on different conditions. but according to OP it was different for him. You will think that if someone develops and engine for their own specific game, that this engine will run at least, 90% as intended under various conditions. However, this is not the case with this specific game. I really wish that they are working on game performance instead of this new class ever  two months, that are nothing but horrible. We're getting bunch of content and new visual candy but nothing is being mentioned about how bad the game is performing alongside the horrendous lag/desync issues. Meanwhile we got all this kids all hyped up and thinking about shitty classes which they will be complaining and crying about within a week of their release.
