been playing since Launch ( conqueror's launch ).

so about 16months, I'd say.

16 month subscrition would be 15x16 so around 240$ + optional cash shop.

I spend around 350$(+100$ for conqueror's ) canadian so far.

worth it, we're not far over a shit subcription game like WoW for far superior quality gameplay.

I do not pay in USD, I pay in euro :x

Dirt cheap entertainment? Since when? Last time I checked you could buy a full game for like 20-60 USD/euro and play for +1 year.

Heck, let's use three games I've played as examples: Mw3 (when ps3 was still popular xD, so been a while), garry's mod (old but still gold in this day and age) and league. Mw3 I played for year, year and a half, cost me around 35 euro iirc when it was new. No DLC bought iirc. G'mod: 10 euro when I bought it 2-2.5 years ago, played every single day (unless I was sick) until around 1 year ago when bdo came out. League, costed me nothing. Played since pre-season 1 or season 1 (can't remember after all this time xD) until season 2 (1 year), came back a little bit when bored in season 3 before a break,  then season 4 + 5 actively. That's basically the pre-seasons as well + the time without season being on. Som 1 year per season you could say. 3 active seasons = 3 years actively playing almost every single day. Didn't spend a dime until season 5, so that's 2 years (season 1 + 4) of entertainment without spending any money.

Not sure how you can say 35 usd/euro per month is "dirt cheap" in entertainment.

LoL is a game for kid with the most toxic playerbase in the world, game is shit, by chance it's free or nobody would be paying for that crap.

It also has one of the biggest (last time I checked at least) playerbase in the world, no? :P

But that's beside the point. The point was that 35 euro/USD per month for entertainment isn't "dirt cheap" :D

I haven't spent a cent outside of the initial purchase of the game. I refuse to support the outrageous prices on digital goods and the blatant money grabs that are having to buy carry weight, inventory slots and costumes on each character.

it is because it's free and kids don't spent money on online gaming, they all play free to play games.
make it 5 $ and playerbase will evaporate, they'll all move to a free to play game.

1 movie night with GF is 60$ minimum
1 night out with friends is around 100$,

so yes it's cheap entertainement it's not 1 time event, it's continuous.

Isn't this a very subjective viewpoint? 35 euros a month is a lot to someone who earns 10 euros a day, but it's not to someone earning 5,000 euros a month. You're not forced to spend money beyond the initial purchase and you can enjoy the game without spending money.

it isn't either for someone that have actual friends or a life outside their parent's basement. 35$ is one dinner at restaurant 1 night a month. it's 2 less pack of beers, it's 1 movie night etc.

City of Heroes.  I played for nearly 8 years and, for most of that time, I had two accounts subscribed.

I'm gonna guess that 2 accounts where 25-30$ per month or such? If thats the case your average BDO spendings makes BDO at least the 2nd most expensive game you have played and calling that "dirt cheap" seems kinda off.

You are taking the comparing games to things that are not games to new heights :/

You ended your poll with 400$? Lol. that's cute.

$0

I also wonder if the if the people that clicked >400 did so proudly? I mean spend your money on whatever you want but.... Gross.

I always wondered about people like you.
What's your disposition towards us people who go out and make our money by doing whatever it is we do, then spending it on what we choose to?

I find the inferior method of thought interesting, at the most.
What is the reason behind that thought train?

I've spent about $3750 as of now. Still need to P2W all my worker lodging and horses.

Oo. I have a new person to top eh?
Coming for you then. ;)

That is. Once Kakao has released something for me to spend more on.
No need to do pearls to marketplace, 800m+ a week is common now a days for some of us lifeskillers so, that'd just be a waste of 680$ a paycheck on a 26 cycle.

Some of us dislike that others spend a crapload of money on games because of what we are afraid will happen to future games if this trend continues.

So ppl like me do not actually care about your money we care about what happens to our own future enjoyment. Most ppl are selfish afterall.

I set aside $15 a month, then an additional $30 every 3 months or so.

Keeps me in check so I don't get out of hand.

But there are developers who think exactly like you who push and fight agaisnt this tide that you yourself don't go along with. Clearly us who spend money on games don't have much of a problem for the most part. Why not play games by developers that share a common view?

If it really comes down to it, why not become a developer yourself and create something you feel is correct?

Why fight to change something that isn't for you, yet clearly works out for others?

I came to this question a long time ago. I challenged it and created my solution.
I've been following that trend for years now.
If there is something I don't like, I create/find my path around, through or away from it.

If and when there are games that are too crazy as far as cash shop is concerned, do you know what I do?
I don't spend on them and or I don't play them.

he said 35$ is expensive entertainement , I showed him it's not.

You know it's all subjective. But at the end of the day, i live by these rules.

If you want something, you'll get it. We always get what we want.
If you didn't get something you wanted, you didn't want it, and you'll have to accept that.

Now a days there are less and less excuses for not having a medium to obtain what it is we want.
You want a new car? Do what it takes to get a new car.

The problem people run into is not wanting to do what it takes to get what they want.
We are all lazy to some extent. Some more than others. I'm very, very, very lazy, so i market that to get what I want. But that's me.

3.7k is more than enough. there are plenty of people who have made millions after starting out with a 1k loan.

As for my life? Heh, i'm a little bit on the conservative side. I will spent an extra dollar for the "premium" experience when going out if its reasonable (i always take first class on high speed trains for example, no other way). I drink a bit here and there, when i feel like it. Idk, if i want to do something i just do it, i dont think too much about the cost really.

But when someone says they spent over 1k on THIS?! I mean, i could tell anyone i know and they would think thats absolutely insane.

3.7k broken down into dollars per hour played would still be pretty low, although I find it hard to imagine what I would even spend that much on

It's not my waste of money though. It's a waste of money to you. Not to me. Thus it's not a waste of money.
I define what is a waste to me, not you to me. You're not God, Not my god, at least.
To me you seem like a have-not.

Why would I be triggered by someone saying i spend money on something I enjoy? I mean, you're not wrong. LOL.
You can say i've spent too much if it helps you feel better. I feel like i've spent enough, as i've not spent any recently. When i feel as if i want something else, i simply buy it, because i have the ability to do so. Do you not do the same?

And sure, we can compare gear. Why are we doing this though?
The have-not comment was in regards to the ability to not spend what you want when you want where you want. Not gear wise. But i guess it can pertain to either field, as the method of thinking is rather plague like.

So you would have us not spend ANY money so that in the future the numbers of games like BDO decreases as the market shrinks and the number of FIFA/COD type games increase due to their popularity with casual games. Or would you have us only spend money on games that you like? I can't speak for others, but I spend money on games I enjoy, if this pisses people off then it's equally as fun knowing that my spread of wealth is causing someone distress over the internet.

Pretty clear anymore interaction with you will be a pointless, endless circle. Carry on.
