I would like to conduct a poll on how people feel about the game's economy right now in Black Desert. Is it good or bad or neutral? Are there items that you feel like they should buff the drop rate such as shards and more armor stones?

personelly im undecided between "neutral" and "good". It's definetly not bad imo.

It's true that the market place is empty. But does this mean the economy is bad? No.

TL,DR:

There is just a huge difference between grinders who think they can buy everything with silver.. And lifeskillers who actually produce stuff and put it in the MP.

Im BDO you can earn much silver by grinding. But will you be able to buy something important with those money? Hehe...

I spent the time from march to november 2k16 grinding.. Since then i became a lifeskiller. All those overrun spots are just tilting me af.
Since i changed my playstyle my character's level stagnated in growth. Still my overall acc progression became way more effective then in my grinding state.. Tons of hards/sharps for enhancing, easy "afk" silver without mich work.. I can produce the dumbest sht with my workers and people will still buy it of the MP..

If all people would just balance their playstyle and do just a little lifeskills then the market place supply would change significantly. At least this is my assumption.

But changing the game mechanics to fit the current playstyle of the majority (more hards/sharps drops and stuff) is not the right way to handle this.. Imo :)

My experience is that  grinding as fast good money, lifeskilling takes investment but after a while you can make a ton of money almost afk.. I could enjoy forza and every 2 to 3 hours check my processed items.. feed workers etc.. except on days I'm at uni ofc.     I invested around 40m and got around 120m revenue so I made around 80m profit out of it.. not bad for 4 days mainly being afk

All MMO economy are bound to fail at one time or another, due to one simple problem: Ingame money is infinitely created and doesn't disappear overtime.

Sure, we have cash sink which cut a bit of it but trying to cut infinite is worthless.

Due to fixed marketplace price, item prices are fixed which counterbalance it a little, but...

As long as players plays, the total amount of ingame money keep growing and growing.

It will make the ingame money at one point of another worthless.

Even rare items at one point or another will flood the MP without buyers.

If the marketplace is empty or if you cannot buy things despite how much money you have, that is pretty much the definition of a ruined economy.

It's kinda bad but mainly absurd because 100% RNG with terrible odds if you want to buy something :S

Inflation has gone through the roof, yet max prices haven't changed in 10+ months and no proper new gold sinks. Just more and more ways to make easy silver or free silver handouts, every patch ofc. Marketplace is 50% empty. You need an entire truck full of gold to pre-order something and still takes weeks or even months to complete.

But no clue how to fix it.

BS is a cash sink, and like I said, no amount of cash sink is enough against an infinite generation of ig currency.

Another BS events is coming :3 (like... pretty much all the time)

There maybe also some people trying a gamble on the MP by mass buying and trying to increase slowly the BS price.

dont spread such pleb knowledge, buddy.

If people would take part of the economy and the market was still empty u'd be right. But since 90% of player base is going full grinding-minion mode it is just natural that there is a lack of supply on the market.

If you choose to opt out of the rng enchanting bs and buy high level items from the marketplace instead then yes, money doesn't help a lot at that gearscore.

But remember, it is a choice that you made, nobody forced you. Want to progress your gear? Go ahead and throw billions into the slotmachince and maybe you'll get a pen something and you'll have progression.

The fact that you need to bid on hundreds of boss grear/pearl items/good accessorys just to buy one shows its broke

18b => 7 tet accessories, there isn't much to spend on after that.

Well it's true alot of people are full grind minions. However alot of the stuff needed to advance your character come from life skills but the rate is so low. Add the fact that energy is required for these actions the economy will always be shit. If we have the BS event rates permanently we could probably have a healthier market then we do right now tbh.

Sure there is, 7 pen accessories. The question is, what is your personal endgame goal? If it's full tet then you are done progressing i guess, at which point you'll have no use for rmoney. This is the same in any mmo. If your goal is full pen then start spending those billions and you'll get there eventually.

But the fact that you can't buy the highest level endgame gear from the marketplace just by afk lifeskilling for months, doesn't mean the economy is in a bad state.

What you are looking for is guaranteed progress for your money but this game was not designed that way. You can either risk your fortune for a low chance of gear progression, or wait til people start posting pen stuff on the marketplace. Which really shouldn't happen before the next gear tier comes out so by then it will be mostly irrelevant anyway.

u must have shit accessories then. How the f r u ever gonna get those TRI yellow accessories without grinding? Doing life skills ain't gonna help u do that at all.

the game is designed that it makes u spend as much $$$ as possible so of course they are gonna make silver totally useless.

Before speaking bullcraps, at least learn what communism is.

At most, we have here a socialist economy with heavy market control and subventions by merits (not by equality).

This is as far from a communist economy as it can be.

If we were using communism economy, each ones would have the same amount of silvers by day.

This game is a market controlled meritocracy dystopia (because we don't know exactly how everythings works for dystopia)
