Why is there no increasing res timer for being killed by the same person?

Lol.  I've never seen someone less geared constantly flag up to annoy a better geared player.  Never heard it happening either.  The risk of that is not worth opening up the karma to favor pk players, sorry.

You've never heard of or seen karma bombing?

It's the same issue though. Whether it's running into you to kill your mobs or flagging to try to kill you, it can be done to you endlessly, no matter how many times you kill the guy.

I dont understand. Why dont you guys just change channels or whatever. Or just share the zone. I mean I go questing. And I see someone else there killing mobs. And I just share the zone. Or just change channels

I say this as someone who was attacked and chased as he was running through another player's rotation, went back to pvp, died several times, and then decided that the guy was a ----- for attacking in the first place and proceeded to claim the spot by outfarming him even after his guild declared war on mine and killing me stopped costing him karma. I was killing the mobs faster than he was killing me, and even after he eventually got me down he had nothing to do before I respawned and went back again, hence my question in the title. After a bit of this he left, even though I didn't get him below 50% hp once, but even if he didn't I could have kept doing it and gotten better xp/hour than him.

And before you focus on how much of an asshole I was, don't hate the player, hate the game. I'd gladly accept changes to pvp that make what I did impossible, or at least not as easy.

i think the problem you are having is down to a false assumed assumption you seem to think its a pvp game.

I dont do a lot of grinding but this sunday I actually spent 3,5h grinding at sausan and I was PKed 18 times. First 30min was chill, no1 bothering me at all but after that a duo came there and just instantly killed me without saying a word.

BDO is the first non-faction game ive played where this has happened so the current penalty for PKing seem to be regarded as minor due to how much PK that happens.

Since my strategy was basicly "grind away the mobs before they kill me again" I cant imagine that they had very good exp on their rotation. In a way both them and I had worse exp than we would have had at other farming spots so sausan isnt as good as a lot of ppl seem to claim when PK is a regular occurence.

Death by pvp: No tears can be used. Person PKed is forced to respawn to the closest TOWN. There I fixed the game, somewhat.

Force go to town. and a 30 seconde cooldown = Good fix.

Gunna have to convince La Marketing_Lead_001 how your going to recover those $$ from rage res clicking they get every week. Remember a $ in the hand could be worth $$x$² in the bush to said person as it is their focus to have nice luscious green cells over icky red ones.

Really with the current game environment, things like this appear to be a reasonable reaction to take.

You either don't open pvp much or you're always dying when you do. Almost daily I run into an elion tear spammer and gear isn't much of a factor, considering I'm "middle of the road" myself. I've just barely beaten a player and then he instantly pops up to pressure me again. The worst are the wiz/witches, or even the zerkers, because we all know how difficult it can be to land a kill against them.

Putting an increased cd on elion tear spamming does NOT open up the karma system.. The red player is still losing karma by the boat load for each kill and the player can still rez on the spot. The difference is the more he dies the longer he'll have to wait. In most cases spawning at the node manager is still a quick option, so it's not like the defeated will be completely stripped of their ability to go PvE. The change I'm suggesting will ONLY stop the spamming of elion tears, which is how it should have always been for a PvP death. After someone gets a kill(regardless of which side of the karma system they fall on) they should be able to get some breathing room to recover. That's simply fair gameplay.

The current system only promotes the whaling of elion tears and this minor change would at least make it more balanced.

Not sure what competitive pve you're talking about, except life skill leaderboards. Everything else that is competitive in BDO is pvp.

By competitive PvE, I mean that you're in competition with other players for the mobs. The exp is shared according to the damage done and the drops are only for the one who did the most damage. As opposed to a system like in GW2 were just tagging the mob will allow you to get the full exp and your own instanced drops. That's why there are disputes about the grinding spots to begin with. Also it has an echo on PvP, as being able to use the best spots and not your usual opponents means a better income and thus more chance to be better geared. Hence why the PvE spots can be considered as a resource some may want to fight for, even risking going red.

if you killed the mobs faster than he did, and he was unable to kill you fast enough, what's the problem? he was weaker then, all is fine.

also it makes no sense at all that you could get his mobs, or it means he can't even keep up killing with a small rotation.

nice fairy tale, but nobody believes.

- During the Negative Karma status, the player has a 200% buff for trade items (since they're stolen goodies for the lore);

Either I'm misunderstanding you or that makes no sense at all. Why would stolen goods be worth more when it's usually a crime to knowingly accept them?

Because for the "lore" they might be trade items that none would be willing to buy given certains laws (Ex: Elephants claws)

Or he was a warrior and I am a wizard, meaning my aoe is much better than his and he couldn't burst me down, so he was reduced to chasing me while I teleported around and cleared multiple packs.

If it's a competition where players fight each other over a resource, then it's a pvp competition, which should be decided by pvp. As it is pvp isn't the deciding factor in open world encounters, but rather who has the most patience.

sounds still to me like you were better then in pve.

and if he can't burst you down (kill you), he wasn't even better in pvp :)

I missed the point, what exactly was wrong in this situation?

Every time I tried to pvp him I died without getting him below 50%, so clearly he was better in pvp. He was still killing me while I was running around killing mobs, just a lot more slowly, so by the time I died there wasn't much left for him to do before I could resurrect and go back and do it again. What's wrong with the situation is that he won every fight but still lost the spot, which seems very paradoxical and could easily be avoided with some changes to res mechanics or harsher death penalties.

Not entirely. Some player may want the best spot, but still only go on PvE adventures. I'm not judging the quality of the design, I'm just trying to see how the devs present it. Basically it's open world, not instanced, so players are in competition, but co-operation seems to be labeled as Good and using the PvP tool to be Evil. And they develop that idea through both background and gameplay with the desert system, etc. So it's presented with sharing, avoiding conflict as the good solution, and PvP as a strong choice, a strong position, not the first idea you get. I think devs are in the hard place where they try to push players towards a friendly solution but still let the possibility for a more muscular solution very occasionally, and also for an whole time aggressive behaviour minored by the harsh consequences. The fact that they design these bottlenecks where players have to interact, but give more power to the friendly behaviour means to me that it's how they see it: you must first and foremost be friendly, and use PvP in a PvE area as a last resort. And they let full PvP system separate to avoid confusion.

If you were able to kill so many of "his mobs", it seems his rotation was too big. It would only work when you were right near him when the mobs respawn again, to killsteal all of them. which also means, you just played better in that situation.

when you can run around and there are plenty of mobs left, I don't see a problem at all, it means there are enough mobs for 2 people. otherwise, as said, you would have to wait for respawn.

I'll say it again: death by players = sent back to town. If you wish to pop a tear then give it a 5-10 minute cooldown. Done

He already admitted in another thread he karma bombs, I wouldn't waste my breath on him.

And before he tries to refute, his exact words

"lol.  You call it griefing, I can it playing the game.  Learn some manners, and you won't have these problems.  Simply tell me I am disrupting your play and I will leave.  If you kill me without warning I will come back for hours and follow you everywhere.  Your choice.  Once you go red, I will call in my guild and friends to hunt you down and wreck your gear.  It's all your choice."

For someone who says "learn some manners" way to often you might need to learn some. Actually, you might need a GM to follow you around for awhile because what you just described, stalking, is actually against ToS.

lol, why would I refute it?  For your kind, yes, I karma bomb with extreme prejudice.  It amuses me to no end when some rude, no lifer attacks for no reason, only to discover that I will permrezz and stick to them like a tick.  Get some manners and tell me that you've been grinding in a location, and I will be polite.  Be a douche, and your douchebaggery will be repaid many many times over , in kind.  Simply returning to kill mobs isn't stalking, lol.  It's playing the game.

However you JUST stated that you are literally following him around. You ARE griefing him and the only thing he can do is either continue to kill you- which accomplishes nothing since you will abuse the system or he leaves. People like you get protected by PKers and the second you don't get your way you use the flaws in the system to grief them back without consequence. This is the reason why Tears need to have a decently long cooldown and pvp deaths should move you to town instead of the nearest node. That way if you want to grief this guy by karma bombing him then you can waste a good 10-15 minutes everytime he kills you to do so. Which in turn gives him enough time to regain some lost karma before going red. So in reality unless you're fast enough you would literally be wasting your time.
