Theres something holding me back.  Maybe its the fact that its 'suggested' to have for pets for collection whilst grinding, or maybe its the grinding itself.  Maybe its the cash shop.  Or the fact that everyone is light years beyond me in terms of everything.

I want to get out of WoW and play BDO full time but not sure I have the desire to start completely from the ground up.

I want a whopper, but I went into McDonald's.

I started screaming that they should make a whopper for me, since I'm a customer and want to give them my money.

Told them it's stupid they are sending me to a competing restaurant to get a Whopper.

Why doesn't McDonald's understand that I want to buy a Whopper from them?!

Maybe the rest of you can convince me that I, in fact, want a Big Mac?!

Maybe you will understand what I'm getting at or not, and this is given in the same spirit as your thread.

That'll teach OP to post anything on the forums.

Expect to be treated exactly the same way in game as well.

He has 99 posts, so not new at all and I gave him a legit answer without going all Millennial/ Neckbeard on him.

Also I thought it was very fitting and funny, if I may say so myself!

I mean come on, complain about "grind" in a game revolving around grind?

I figure he/ she is trolling and answered in the same spirit.

Indeed, they both use a meat that would not be fit for human consumption without the 20% soy they add which dilutes the numbers.

Deal with it, that's how MMOs in a nutshell work.

The only problem this game has it's the enhancement system. Everything else is perfect for me. Change it to something that doesn't take random numbers to let you progress and we have a killer MMORPG.

To be fair, unless you are ready to really go for it, join the competitive people, get to level 60 and enjoy node wars and guild wars and such, this game is only fun for the first 3 months until you end up doing either the same grind over and over again or afk a bunch of lifeskills. I returned after a 6 month break and since Im not a competitive player and don't do nodewars or guild wars, I feel like i've reached my personal end-game and am mostly just doing afk shit now. Not saying that it's not worth returning for those 3 months btw, I had a LOT of fun and don't regret it at all to start fresh again, but I do see myself quitting after my exams are over in 2 months and I wanna do something active again.

The thing is, if you dislike the grind or you dislike staying AFK continously this game isn't for you. Don't fool yourself with combat style, graphics... The core of BDO is grind + AFK.

All about pets, everyone light years beyond you or things like that are negligible vs the grind. Think about this: it's easier for you to get full TRI lvl 58 (despite what people say, you "can" do node wars with that gear/lvl but don't expect to be the hero) than veteran players to be full TET/PEN (+ accessories!) and lvl 61/62. And not only easier but less time consuming.

Chances are you are miles behind players in WoW as well, you just don't know it. If you thought about it though, you don't play WoW to be a WoW super star, you play it because you like it. I'd say keep playing it and have this on your hard drive. I still log in to LotRO every week or so and pay house and guild maintenance. Log in to EVE and spin ships in Jita every so often. Will I ever go back to them in a meaningful way? Honestly doubt it but there's no reason to not have it ready if I do.

They are games, not wedding contracts. Play em all.

I don't know what you are expecting to read after posting that tbh.

No one here is going to grab you by the hand and throw flowers at you, telling you to come back and play BDO instead of WoW :,)

That something what is holding you back is yourself. So if you're not sure then you have two simple options: Play it or don't. Comparing WoW with BDO is like apples and tomatos (themepark / sandbox). Since BDP is p2p, there's no harm in logging in and playing it for a bit. Invest in nodes and workers, let them make money for you afk while you do your daily dungeons in WoW as an example x)

Also kudos to the fast food post!

the problem is, you doing it just wrong. there are severel things to do in this game around end-game. i also enjoy sieges with my 160 AP / 260 DP gear. dont need a week to get these stats. so there are ways to be proper competitive in PvP with low efford, but you need a bit of a brain to do it.

Exactly. They have to come up with something more rewarding. The gambling with gear is a complete turn off for me.

Not only for you, i bet half the players that are playing or those who quit didn't like at all that system. I'm surprised they haven't changed it yet since nobody likes it. I will never understand that with game developers. Ignoring the majority of players telling them to remove something that shouldn't be in the game.

i dont think u understand me. I dont care much about your ap/dp or how much exactly you need to do node wars. I'm just not interested in them and since I'm not my endgame is limited to afk stuff since the game lacks active non-pvp content.

Play it if you don't aim to be a top player. It is ok for anybody who can have fun without being competitive. If you are a competitive player and want to kill most of the players, then you will need to play like a year and then you will feel that you are strong. Until that time you may or may not have fun in the game depending on your play style and tolerance because many players will kill you easily and some monster players will kill you and all your party even all your guild easily and that will piss you off.

Play it if you have money to spend because you will need  4 pets and 4 more pets to upgrade them. You will need weight, bag space(maybe), functional pearl costume and value pack(every month). Value pack lets you not to lose 3/1 income of your items sold on the marketplace. You can play without it but when you use it for a month and when you play without it and you pay over 100-200m tax to the market place, then you will get very upset.

It is a nice game which will make you have fun everyday but it will also get your life stressed too when you need to be patient to save money in game, to level your char, to upgrade your items etc... A never ending struggle but it is funny.

You will also lose your social life. BDO forces you to play 7/24 with online and afk things. Afk jobs don't let you good money if you don't invest a lot of time -afk time- and a big amount of online time to support your afk life skill. It will make you addicted and you will lose all interest in other things in rewal life.

As I said it is a nice game. You will not regret to play it but you will feel the problems I mentioned above. These are some of my views after 2.5 years of bdo experience on Korean server and EU. No trolling or criticism fo anything here. These are the facts.

What ever you decide; playing or not...But I hope you have a happy life. Have fun ^^

You can do lots of stuffs, such:

- Grab a musket, sit on your horse, then flag yourself and shoot at people that are trying to knock off others from their horses to show em who's the sheriff in this town;
- Drag AFK enemies on your boat and bring em for an unwanted trip in some dangerous places of this world or else near Margoria to send em in panic;
- You can actively hug people if you have a class with grab and send em hearts, then run away because most likely they will try to ----- you;
- You can sail for mysterious lands placing stun traps on the rotation of your enemies to stun them and run away;
- You can charge your blackspirit rage to 500%, travel in desert to find someone red and then unleash your fury against it to send him/her in prison;
- Take selfies in Desert at night under a tent with someone, then start to RP a romantic night and plan to meet with that person in RL for romantic RL RP sessions;

There you go, there's so much to do as PvE content except the blackspirit rage part.
P.S: I'm quite sure that the zerker in my tent was a French guy, but still he caressed me gently under the moonlight, so i'm all in this new relationship as long he doesn't go too rough on me.

Burn the heretic.

I don't want to derail this thread or become a commercial for fast food.... but that being said, and I do enjoy me a Big Mac...

Do people not know that in Burger King you can order your burger(s) OTB ( Off The Broiler) ?!

That means they will make your burger "fresh", no microwave, heating up, etc... but put a frozen patty on the grill and direct to your sandwich. Sure it takes a FEW min more, but damn that is the closest thing to a "real" meal there lol!

So ya, whopper does not equal big mac!
