the problem I see right off the bat .
if you give rewards to PVP , people will abuse it right off the bat.
that's a certainty.

but those rewards would be pvp focused, unless you mean that they'd swap channels to kill random people. I say give people a pve channel. let them hide out there and compete with insanely overpopulated resources.

there are rewards for trading, fishing and everything else, why not pvp? even if it were titles and black spirit one time rewards.

Pretty sure he means kill sharing, or whatever term people use these days. I basically kill you for 5 hours and than you kill me for 5 hours. We both get shiny new items.

then you only get a maximum per day, a quota or something. once the kill quota is reached on a player vs a particular player then it wouldn't count even if you killed them hundreds of times in the day. quota's would respawn during the resets daily...perhaps. Idk that's what brainstorming is for lol

then it'd be , you kill me for X time to get day quota and I kill you X time to meet quota. so in the end it's just MORE GRINDING.

let's make PVP a grindfest , instead of pvp because you want to pvp, smart .

I was part of the effort at launch that made up the documents for bounty hunter system . read it all up.

we had something of a check that made it impossible to '' abuse '' as your targets were randomly generated between the people who had killed players in the last X hours.

Make 6 more channel : Kamasilvia 1-6  -75% less karma cost and +50% Karma recovery. +10% Skill exp.

that isn't bad, but it could be used strictly to regain karma. Would probably need a long cool down for swap

Afraid to say that this server would be almost completely deserted.

The PK kids aren't looking to proof themselves, on the contrary, they are looking to grief unsuspecting and unprepared players. Heck, the whole gear-carry is the sole reason they are even "PvPing" in this game.

That said, the "PvP server" would prolly make the best overall "PvE experience" due to its low amount of players. Somewhat ironic.

Im one of the "PK Kids" and I do it when people are trying to steal my grind-spot. There are people who do it just to grief, but its not the majority.

It's a miracle anyone can ever get to 50 with all these 'mob stealers' and no PvP solution..

you asked about kill steals? just have it first one to hit gets loot...works in some of the games I played

How is that any different than now?

Any high AP character can do 50% - 100% AOE dmg on everything ;)

nice ssarcasm. How do you like it when a random group kicks you out though ? Just curious. Or one random op dude biking everything and screwing your play time. Assuming you don't have 8+ hours a day to play

I don't group. All you see in the game are LFG 10 scrolls and LFG Sausans. I've watched videos of guys opening 100 to 300 bundles for trash loot, they aren't worth it. I've seen Sausan grind. If you have limited play time, is that what you will choose to call leisure?


Even when DK launched and everyone and their dog was leveling the 1-50 (no PvP) grind was anything but a grind.

And we won't be getting niche servers exclusive to PvP. Though it would be no trouble finding names for them. Just call them Wizard 1 through 5.

lol well you can't compare a new players progress to a dk who's account had millions already in the bank. Obviously they are getting good gear off the bat.  leveled my dk to 57 fairly easily compared to my main,  which is a warrior.

Here's a better idea than dividing it by server or channel.

How about, and this is a really out-there suggestion, we have safe zones and combat zones in game? That way, you can be safe! And if you're willing to take more risks, you can get more profit/xp/etc.

Wait. This is already in game?! Hot damn!

A red server does sound kind of fun but it'd only really work if they properly balanced the classes and did something to mitigate the gearscore imbalance. It'd be just a world-sized RBF.

how would this result in less griefers? if there is no penalty for killing other players (and also none for dieing in pvp, which should be obvious here) then whats stopping people from keep coming back at your spot to attack you repeatedly or try to kd or grab you into mobs all the time even if they keep dieing?

who would actually grind more efficiently on this channel than on the regular ones?

 

make this whole idea into a constant 24/7 nodewar channel instead without mobs, where you can keep building new forts and attack others forts at all times just for the fun of it and we have an actually intresting ffa pvp channel there. Add in some additional elements like resource-nodes which can be fought for to obtain materials for the fort + siege weapons (killed players may drop some of those resources, just like trade items), maybe add in a reward for the guild funds depending on how long they are able to hold a fort to give some incentive (and if that guild leaves the channel again, or doesnt have atleast 5-10 members in the channel, their held fort on that channel will be removed).

Then you would have a ffa 24/7 open world pvp channel, which would even be fun to play on, would give some form of reward that couldnt easily be exploited, and you would have constant pvp going on.

node wars require no skillskill, just njnumbers and gear. I want to promote group or 1v1 PvP much as there is when spots are contested but without penalty. Like I said this isn't for grinding, it's for pvp

nah, not in every game, in most games they just seem like that because all of the still active players on those servers are sitting/laying around in stealth/camo/invisible near spawn points or have burrowed themselves down in some deep impenetrable underground bunkers ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
