BDO Vernacular problem - "Autism"

6 posts in this topic

Posted (edited)

I need another word for what is commonly referred to as "autism" among the BDO community. I can't think of anything. Autism is the word we use to describe the zombie like state of mind which is often necessary for long periods of grinding or other mentally taxing endeavors one must undertake to progress in BDO.

Due to the offensive nature of the word, I would like another equally usable word in terms of brevity and descriptiveness.

To further describe the word in hopes of finding a suitable replacement, Autism can also refer to the dulling of the sharpness to ones mind to accommodate for near masochistic levels of boredom or painful RNG faced when playing BDO or the extreme focus on minutia details.

If anyone knows a good replacement word please let me know.

Please note, the replacement word also needs to have a negative connotation as this is not a desirable or respectable state of mind to be in.

the word can further be characterized by unresponsiveness to outside stimuli

i thought about that actually

The term "vegetable" came to mind. But it was missing a certain something. Vegetable sells the idea short, as this specific type of behavior leads to excelling in the world of BDO. A vegetable alone wouldn't be a threat in BDO, but these "autistic" players are actually some of the most successful and geared ppl in BDO.

It's something more like idiot savant
